On September 6, 2024, Queen Camilla visited the Royal Air Force (RAF) Leeming in North Yorkshire to meet RAF personnel and their families, to learn about the welfare support they are offered, and to tour the Wellness Area. Project Wellness focuses on the importance of preventative mental health strategies among military personnel, as well as finding ways to help improve the recovery rate for personnel suffering from mental health problems.

Whatever you think about Camilla, you have to admit that she is working HARD. For a lady well past retirement age I find it absolutely fantastic to see her out and about that much. Fashion-wise it's a classic, I like the swishy skirt portion and the pointy bodice detail, which is quite flattering.

      @ Nika
Working hard ? She is by car and her chauffeur brings her right on the spot where she has to be. She doesn't have to do anything in the household. There is someone to do the cleaning and another someone to cook. Everything is done for her by her secretary or personal assistant or whatever. There are women of her age who have to look after grand children, and do the cooking for them and take them to kindergarten and back home. During the holidays when the parents are still at work they have to take them to a playground where they can go on all the attractions put there to amuse children. Sometimes they can also play in the sand with their little friends and turn back home with grand ma, who is washing them and change their clothes so that they can go home clean with mummy or daddy when they come to collect them. After that grand ma has finally time to do her own houshold, but since she is old she is tired and she thinks by herself I'll do my work tomorrow or the day after, etc... But the day after it starts all over again. That's what I call HARD working for ladies who are retired and in their late seventies.

Anon 12:50 She could have literally had this life if she hadn't married Charles. She could have stayed at home, visited her grandkids, knit some socks and rummage around the house. But she chose not to and now supports her husband with his job - which just so happens to be King of England. And yes, what she's doing is still work. Even if you have everything done for you, you still have to show up. And not just grumpily hide on the loo, but smile, shake hands, take pictures, meet kindergarden kids, coal miners, dogs, young mothers, widows, horses, shopkeepers, royals, politicians and still be able to talk to and please all of those folks somehow. In addition, she's somewhere else almost every single day - travelling is hard on the body, even my own 30-year-old body is exhausted after a week of work-related travel and socialising like crazy. Not every older woman's job or destiny is childcare and household. Mine will certainly never be. Doesn't mean I'm not working hard.

I didn't say you are not working hard Nika, I was talking about a person like Camilla (she is not the only one). I was just giving an example. Besides she did everything to have her Charles, well now she must not be complained, she has what she wished to be.

  2. La première photo prise par un petit vent pourrait donner une idée pour changer de coiffure à Camilla ; cela lui apporterait un style très rajeunissant !

Joli choix pour la robe : c'est pile le bleu RAF du logo. Paloma.

  5. Even in a wind blown look that she cannot help I actually think she would look nice with her forehead showing. The bangs has always been her trademark look though!

  6. J'aime beaucoup la première photo. Vive le vent dans ce cas-ci. Un changement qui favoriserait grandement notre Reine. Un coup de jeunesse à mes yeux.

Lovely colour on her. Too much heavy makeup, I think she would look much better with just blush and lipstick. She is a very active lady, but I am sure many of these visits are very short.

I think the makeup you are seeing that is not all the way to her hairline is on top of a slight tan HM has. Queen Camilla has been out enjoying the countryside this summer--look at her neck and hands as both are tan. I feel sure she is not tanning her face so what you are seeing is a natural tan line. Heavy makeup, should go all the way to the hairline. This makes her look odd, with natural skin coloring half way up the forehead. Second option, don't wear heavy orange makeup.

Queen Camilla needs heavy, camera friendly makeup. Camera lights are merciless and can make people look horrible, depending on the situation. Blush and lipstick might be adequate in private but certainly not in public.

Despite all the tricks she uses she doesn't look better. Camera lights indeed are merciless....

I think Queen Camilla looks lovely here! I love her dress and she got very wind blown but came out looking great--wish I could do the same. As for the make-up comments--take a look at HM's hands and neck. She has a tan. Is she wearing makeup, yes, is it a bit much, yes, should a professional blend it better, yes. But I think she looks great here.

She is a woman of a certain age. She won’t look young and fresh no matter what makeup is chosen. The debate here seems rather odd.

I think this colour is good on her. No pattern is surely more flattering as well.
