Princess Mafalda of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg, the daughter of Prince Gustav and Princess Carina of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg, was baptized in the chapel of Berleburg Castle in Germany. Princess Mafalda has six godparents: Princess Marie, Prince Philippos, Prince Philipp, Hereditary Prince Christian, Princess Kelly, and Baroness Helle.
On this occasion, the Danish Royal Court has released two official photos taken after the baptism of Princess Mafalda. Prince Gustav and Princess Carina have two children. The couple's son, Prince Gustav Albrecht, was born on 26 May 2023 in the United States. On 26 April 2024, the couple welcomed their second child, Princess Mafalda.

What a delightful group photo with the smiling baby! Everyone looks very good here. It’s particularly nice to see P. Marie in a colourful dress even though it’s a bit too long for her. (V.M.)
ReplyDeleteAgree entirely with this comment. A lovely look for Princess Marie and for Princess Carina. It's a joy to see this family after their long wait for marriage and children
DeleteJe ne peux pas vraiment dire que la robe fleurie Erdem soit à mon goût mais je reconnais que la princesse Marie la porte superbement bien !
ReplyDeleteGoergous baby girl with an extraordinary beautiful name ... all pictures are delightful ... best of luck for the parents and sweet Princess Mafalda ...
ReplyDeleteBoth children favour their Dad I think.
ReplyDeleteThe little Princess seems a happy baby!
Everyone looks well turned out.

DeleteAnon 19.08, wow just wow! This comment is so inappropriate. Where is Bob right now?
DeleteAdorable children. The christening gown is gorgeous (although probably not easy to put on a squirmy baby).

Prince Philipp would be the king of Finland, had the history turned different way. His ancestor was chosen to be the king when Finland gained independence.

What about Philipp's elder brother Donatus?
DeleteWhat about Philipp's elder brother, Donatus?
DeleteIf I remember correctly Philipp would have inherited the throne from a childless relative, and Donatus as the head of the princely house could not have inherited it. /Grace
DeleteLovely photos all well dressed but who are these people?
ReplyDeleteCan money really buy everything? I don't think so.
ReplyDeleteWhy are you here, Coralie? You were very clear about how you felt about this family and how they came to be. Don't ruin the joy everyone else has for them with your sour disposition and prejudice views. A baptism is a beautiful occasion and children are innocents. If you can't be happy for them on this special day, you shouldn't comment.
DeleteSpeak for yourself. You are one person. You are not "everyone else". Don't tell me how I have to comment or how not to. And sign your post with a name. Stop being a coward who hides behind some 'Anonymous".
DeleteCoralie, you will never have enough money to buy good manners or an open mind. Why does this matter bother you so much? I see only happy parents with adorable children surrounded by good friends.
DeleteAnon 00:37. I couldn't agree more! Your last sentence says it all. Great comment.
DeleteWhy are Just Me and Anonymous being rude to a stranger? Let’s be kind. You can still have an opinion and an opposing opinion without being personally cutting to another. - Bob
DeleteBob, it is not Anon 00:37 and Just Me who are being rude, I agree with them wholeheartedly. You might want to tell Coralie to not force-feed her beliefs to the readers of this blog. Her response to Anon 00:37 is very cutting in case you haven't noticed. The comments were perfectly nice and enjoyable until she had to add her evil remark. Rina
DeleteWhat great pictures of the baptism. Pss Carina looks stunning, in pink from head to toe. So nice to see Pss's Marie and Kelly and Baronesse Helle. All the RL looked great. Also the men. But the star of the whole event the little Pss Mafalda. What a cute little girl. Both pictures are great. Her little brother is a heartbreaker already. Hope we will see more of the children. What a treat. css
ReplyDeleteShould princess Maria of worn a hat since it was a christening as the other ladies did.
ReplyDeleteDear Coralie, What a horrible and disrespectful remark for a couple, like many others, that was unable to conceive a child. Modern science, including our wonderful operations and medicine, have vastly improved the lives of mankind and we should be grateful, you included. Their private, obviously complicated decisions, are none of our business.

I don't think it is that easy, Virginia. Have you read about Olivia Maurel? She was born via surrogate and now, as a grown-up, speaks about how much it screwed her life. She is really courageous. (And Margaret Atwood, of course.)
DeleteCoralie, what are you talking here?
DeleteAll this cattiness is spoiling it for everyone else. Please stop and consider others
ReplyDeleteThank you! The catiness is new and awful. We can make comments with opposing ideas kindly. Personal attacks are mean - and what do they bring but the breaking down of what has been a lovely site, which until recently felt safe and fun and different from social media. I miss the discussions I used to see here, long before I found the courage to start adding my own. - Bob
DeleteDear Coralie, Your initial remark was very provocative and superficial so the reactions were justified. If you had offered some balanced reasons, one might have understood you better.

Please don't encourage her. This is not the place for these opinions, especially such polarizing ones. We have already gone through this once on a previous post. We are here for fashion.
DeleteAnon 13:08. Unfortunately, no encouragement is needed in her case. Other than that, I totally agree with your comment.
