On September 10, 2024, Crown Princess Kiko and Princess Kako of Japan visited an embroidery exhibition at Nihonbashi Takashimaya in Tokyo. The Crown Princess and her daughter viewed the exhibits of embroidery created by Shizuka Kusano, a Japanese embroidery artist. Shizuka Kusano is one of Japan’s most well-known kimono embroidery artists. She showcases contemporary art pieces based on 1,500-year-old traditional embroideries inspired by Japanese poetry, literature, and art.
Both ladies look well groomed and elegant. Stylish and smart looking.
ReplyDeleteBoth Ladies look great. I especially like Pss Kakos dress, very nice color. She has a great smile. css
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful dress on Princess Kako ❤️
ReplyDeleteI would love to have seen that exhibit!
ReplyDeletevery robotic, ugly dresses and shoes
ReplyDeleteExactly my thoughts. So enormously boring
DeleteJe croyais voir un peu de changement dans les tenues des dames de la maison impériale mais non pas du tout sauf la couleur abricot clair qui va à merveille avec le teint de pêche de la princesse Kako !
ReplyDeleteI was just wondering.... The way the Japanese Royal ladies stand, their hands on their clutch bags... Do they teach them this way?
ReplyDelete@Anon 12:45 Yes, I would guess that is true. And also to always keep your feet together when standing still.

They should exchange shoes with each other. That would make both outfits more flattering. DIQ
ReplyDeleteAlthough I like the color of Princess Kako's dress, there is something wrong with the sleeves. The shoulder part is cut too big and the big shoulder pads cannot correct the error. If you click on the picture you can see that the shoulder part is not ironed very well either. And than the way they are standing like 2 dolls that have severe back pain and are going to break in 2 pieces. It is their tradition I know, but I cannot like it.
