The queens dress I am sure many will akin to old curtains, but I like the style and colour. The kings tie is nicely matched. CPrincess , looks nice in a structured jacket. Everyone looks nicely dressed.

  5. Stoltenberg got out in time. Better not be associated with what Nato will face in the future. He will be replaced by another politician who no longer has support in his home country but served the interest of the globalist bureaucrats and will continue to do so once in office for Nato.

Vanessa, this is a fashion-blog. There must be numerous blogs for your particular political views, this is not one of them. Your political agenda is of no interest for the readers of this blog.

    3. Vanessa dear. I enjoy reading your fashion comments.
Forget all this political 'mombo-jumpo' and let's concentrate on givng our learned advice to the royal ladies.
Many of them need our help.
So let's get started and find the first one today who need our advice on a 'pop of colour'. 😁
p.s. General Jens Stoltenberg looks to be a very handsome man.
In fact, all three men in the photo look pretty good and they can drop by my place for a cup of tea whenever they wish 😀

    4. I´m reacting to the context of this reception as stated in the caption.
I have no agenda, just an opinion.
Just like everyone else, I´m here to share my opinion and to read what other might think.
Well, it is a royal blog, and royals play a crutial part in politics, whether you like that or not. They are of interest for that very reason. If they didn´t have a special rank/position/function in society, no one would care about these people or what they wear.
Even if you care about fashion alone, you should still be interested in the context of each royal engagement as it determines what these people will wear. Protocol will dictate the dress code, diplomatic considerations will play a role, PR reasons will factor in, and a whole team of advisors and stylists will have their say. Context is important. If their choices were only about personal taste, comfort and weather suitability, royals would look like everyone else, and again - no one would care.
The context of each engagement is stated here for a reason.

What does this have to do with fashion? The men all look good in their suits and coordinated ties to the ladies outfits. I like the fit of the queens dress and her choice of necklace.

MM looks marvelous here! Classic look that so suits her. Queen Sonja is wearing a lovely print dress that very much flatters her and she looks wonderful. Simple elegance from the Norwegian ladies!

Q Sonja looks very smart. I see Secretary General Stoltenberg is making the rounds. Maybe Denmark and Sweden next. Isn't he the NATO Secretary now? css

I like the tailoring of Queen Sonja's dress. A slightly brighter fabric would be nice but she looks good in the dress as it stands. She generally displays a very nice sense of style.

Crown Princess Mette-Marit's outfit is nice and would have been perfect with a tiny bit of tailoring at the waist of the jacket which has a gorgeous line in the sample.
