King Frederik and Queen Mary of Denmark have participated in the commemoration of Flag Day for Denmark's deployed personnel. At Kastellet in Copenhagen, the King and Queen began the day by honoring fallen soldiers by laying a wreath at the Monument for Denmark’s International Effort since 1948. Later, Holmens Church provided the setting for a memorial service in honor of Danish soldiers who have fallen in international service.
Flag Day for Denmark's deployed personnel was first observed in 2009, and the purpose of the day is to honor those who are or have been deployed on a mission for Denmark, as well as to recognize the professional effort they have made in a number of the world’s conflict areas.

Bella come sempre. Ma la forma di questo cappello non mi piace, le copre gli occhi.
ReplyDeleteRossella 🖤
Si e vero
DeleteElegant & stylish as usually and she’s wearing the shoes I adore
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!
ReplyDeletePerfectly elegant. Cut of the dress is flattering and somber/respectful at the same time.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely agree. And I just love that hat
Deletehello AnnieM. I agree 110% with all the positive comments.
DeleteBut the hat bothers me. Maybe it's because it overshadows (pun not intended) the other elements of the ensemble.
Oh my god.. style, posture and dignity. She has it all!
ReplyDeleteYes, she has!
DeleteFrederik looks great in his naval uniform. Mary clashes a little with the theme of the day with her expensive mini shopping bag.
ReplyDeleteI don’t understand your comment about her hand bag. It matches perfectly with her shoes and dress colour. Is there a type of bag that should be used for these occasion, I would be interested in knowing.
DeleteThe max mara bag is not that expensive (in continental europe), so what it‘s the point?
DeleteToo much matchy matchy fashion for an event like this. She could have left the bag at home on this day. She has a lady in waiting/secretary ready to carry her stuff.
DeleteI must say I think the bag is a bit too big for the occasion. If you look online at any brand of bags the type of Mary's bag can be found in the category of "shoppers". Sling back shoes look better with a light summer dress. A closed pair of classic high heeled shoes would have been better.
DeleteI love the dress on Queen Mary a lot! The neckline suits her very much. Well done!
ReplyDeleteTotally agree, love this neckline on her.
Froufrou
Beautifull dress, but I think the colour of the hat nor of the shoes and handbag match with it.
ReplyDeleteI agree.
DeleteMary is beautiful, I think we follow or copy Kate who is very classic and perfect always .
ReplyDeleteMaxima us too much.
For a similar occasion Queen Maxima is always dressed very appropriate.
DeleteOh, this is very pretty. So simple and so elegant. And I must say that I adore the pearl necklace. I´m not a jewellery person and normally don´t notice jewellery much unless it´s a statement piece, but here I think the necklace is what "makes" this outfit. Perfect choice to balance out the dark outfit, timelessly elegant, and perfect to "fill" the large square neckline.
ReplyDeleteYes I agree. The pearls are perfect here. They bring a glow to her face and complement the dress beautifully. (V.M.)
DeleteQ. Mary's outfit is so stylish and so simple and so appropriate!! Hits all the right notes. I love the pearl necklace!!
ReplyDeleteI couldn’t have said it better myself. What I appreciate about Mary is that Aussie down-to-earth, no-nonsense attitude. Just focused on getting the job done, not on PR and silly tabloids. I really hope Catherine can find a way to learn from Mary. Not sure I’d want Wills to learn from Fred. How Mary accepted Fred’s proposal is still surprising to me
DeleteAre you in their confidence ? I thought Catherine was the one of which the other royal ladies had to learn. Now I read that it is Mary who is Mrs. Perfect. I hope that the queen of my country continues to wear what she likes and what suits her and not copy what another queen is wearing.
DeleteSimple and elegant. Love the pearls. Frederik looks good in Uniform with all the hardware on his chest. css
ReplyDeleteI love everything about this outfit on Mary - the navy and black combination, the beige shoes and bag, the gorgeous square neckline, the pearls, and the shape of her hat. But most of all, I like the simplicity of the total look. Calm and respectful and still so stylish. Beautiful!

Finally. Pearls!!!!
ReplyDeleteThe amount o people that clearly know nothing about style or fashion but comment like they are experts is scary :)))
ReplyDeleteAmazing stylish Mary
DeleteAnd you know everything about style and fashion ? We have eyes in our head and we have brains to compare what different queens and princesses in Europe wear on comparable events and/or ceremonies. We can also make conclusions and then pick-out what we find elegant and perfect.
DeleteAre you an ‘expert’ on style and fashion and whatever that means? Style and fashion are subjective and people certainly will have their own opinions on them. And their opinions may not be the same as yours and that’s okay!
DeleteSo what makes one an “expert” in fashion?
DeleteIn the photos, it looks like Mary is wearing a black dress with a blue hat and champagne-colored accessories. While all of these elements are lovely taken separately, I find the different colors worn together rather jarring. If the dress had matched the hat, I think the effect would have been perfect.
ReplyDeleteI agree! The dress would suit a fabric type of hat rather than straw and I'm afraid the clash of colours between blue and black in this ensemble just doesn't work.
DeleteI agree.
DeleteI saw pictures of Prince Joachim and Princess Marie on another website when they participated at Flagday Denmark 2024. Prince Joachim was wearing his uniform and Princess Marie was giving a speech. It looks like they are deliberately been forgotten on certain occasions. It is not only with the Danes that this happens, but also with other members of other royal families in Europe. I didn't even know they were still in Denmark. I thought they were returned to the States after the summer holidays.
ReplyDeletePrince Joachim and Princess Marie took part in Flagday Denmark held at the danish embassy in Washington DC. The reception was held in cooperation with Veterans Coalition International. It is reported at the website of the danish royal house.
DeleteWhat you saw was Joachim and Marie celebrating Flag Day at the Danish Embassy in Washington. They were not in Europe for Flag Day 2024.

Nevertheless one could have looked at the pictures on this site. If you don't look at all the websites about royals you miss a lot. I can understand that not every picture can be shown, but it is almost always about the same royals that pictures are not published here.
Delete全体的にどこかちぐはぐな感じがするのは、素材の質感の問題でしょうか?
ReplyDeleteJust what we expect from our Queens, FLAWLESS!!!.
ReplyDeleteAll said and done she is a beautiful, polished queen, the equivalent of the future Queen Kate.
ReplyDeleteQ Mary’s dress is actually blue, she looks perfect and not because she is copying anyone, she has her own great style, Rem
ReplyDeleteIt looks black in some pictures and a deep navy blue in others. Whatever the color Mary looks great… she rarely gets it wrong in her fashion!
DeletePrincess don't wear too much high heel you will get injured if slip😁
ReplyDeleteYou know how to use this sword or not ?
ReplyDeleteOr it is only for show😉
It has long been acknowledged that this is a ceremonial sword, part of the uniform. When did you last hear of anyone using a weapon sword in Europe? We are not living in medieval times.

Beautiful, elegant, and regal! I love Queen Mary's choices for this important annual day--she looks stunning.
ReplyDeleteJanet
Just gorgeous Mary nailed it so elegant. Mary
