On September 12, 2024, King Frederik X and Queen Mary of Denmark hosted a reception for Olympic and Paralympic athletes who competed in the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, in the Orangerie at Fredensborg Palace on the island of Zealand. Princess Benedikte was also present at the reception. A total of 124 athletes, including 68 women and 56 men, represented Team Denmark at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. The Danish athletes won a total of 9 medals during the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics.

Princess Benedikte ( not mentioned in the headline) outshines the younger generation!
ReplyDeleteNo she does not! And why do you have to make comparisons? Does it add value to your life to be negative towards two stragers?
DeleteIs it possible to compare two ladies with a 30year difference of age ? Ok, YOU may prefer Benedikte. If Mary were dressed in Benedikte's usual style, she would be called old fashioned for her age.
DeleteI agree with you 22.03! She looks great in her outfit. Ellen
DeleteAnon. 8:29, to answer your question: I understand to you it does!
DeleteI agree in this occasion.
DeleteBrown shades in men suits is a no no
Something you cannot buy or learn is that royal attitude no matter what kind of clothes you wear (ref. Princess Benedikte has it). Something her nephew the King doesn't seem to have inherited although he is a descendant of royals and princes.
Delete@Anon 07:17 King Frederik is making good progress.
DeleteHe's been taking note of the good examples set by Queen Mary.
He looks quite yummy with his shorter haircut 😁
I love Mary of course but Benedikte’s outfit is stunning. One of the best I’ve seen!
DeleteThe Princess looks stunning., she always does. She is the epitome of CLASS.
DeleteLovely dress Q Mary is wearing, the only thing maybe a different belt? I like Benedikte's outfit but a bit too many flowers on the coat, the dress and handbag are nice. Nice smile from the King. css
ReplyDeleteBoth ladies look terrific but I’m partial to Princess Benedikte’s gorgeous red coat. The pattern is beautiful and Benedikte elegant and classy as always.
ReplyDeleteExactly!
DeleteBoth ladies look so casually elegant.
ReplyDeleteIt's also nice to see Frederik in a different coloured suit, AND one that coordinates with his wife's dress, lol. Well done :)

I am always delighted to see the men in a suit other than the usual royal blue.
Delete@Anon 01:43 I agree!
Delete- Anon 9:13
Men (royals incl.) are not wearing royal blue but navy.
DeleteQM is always dressed nicely. I would like to see her hair shortened to shoulder length, it would be more becoming imo
ReplyDeleteI agree sooooo so much a gorgeous lob would be sensational much more becoming well said
DeleteI agree with you, it would look so much better.
DeleteDisagree. I love Marys and Catherines long hair!
DeleteWhat is becoming is what SHE likes to do to HER own hair
DeleteNo sensational hair here.
DeleteShe begins to look like a copy of a personage from " Little house on the prairie" with her hair everywhere.
With short hair or a bun will take the dress to center stage.
-Anna-
Both outfits are nice but Princess Benedikte’s coat is fabulous. I would love something like it
ReplyDeleteAnnieM
Benedikte looks elegant and immaculate, as usual. I especially like her purse.

Mary’s dress is beautiful, just luscious. — Jane
ReplyDeleteAlso, Prinzessin Benedikte!
ReplyDeleteBoth royal ladies are looking very good. I like their dresses.
ReplyDeleteKing Frederik should try to keep his legs together (picture N° 8), or asking for a non transparant desk.
Maybe instead of having him sit at a non transparent desk they could shackle his legs together. That will teach him a lesson and besides I like his smile!!!
Delete@12:02. Well yes, but King Fred is quite tall.
DeleteIf he stood with his legs together, he'd probably fall over.
He stands like that for stability ....no?
I think it's more important that he learns how to sit at a Royal banquet.
For example, both elbows on the table is not too "King" like.
There's still a bit of the untamed boy left in him.
But with Queen Mary's examples, he'll get there.
@deadeggs
DeleteKing Frederik quite tall ? Put him next to queen Mathilde or queen Maxima and he looks like a little boy. Someone on this blog said he was wearing special shoes to make him look taller. (As we can not control this, I assume it is gossip).
What must King Felipe do then ? I've never seen or heard him asking for a chair when he must give a speech and his legs are not so wide open as King Frederik's. If he still must learn how to sit at a Royal banquet and how to stand when he has to give a speech, it is a bit late don't you think ? What did he do all the time when he waited to take over from his mother Queen Margrethe ? To come back to King Felipe on the evening before the opening of the Olympic games in Paris, I saw him step out of the limo in front of the Museum of Modern Art where the diner took place, even if you didn't know who he was you saw immediately at his attitude he was a king, the way he held his shoulders and his back only a very important aristocratic gentleman looks like that.
DeleteTwo comments on the net that say King Frederik is 'around' 6ft. tall.
DeleteQueen Mathilde, 5ft. 9 inches. Queen Maxima 5ft. 8inches.
Queen Mathilde is taller than Queen Mary. When King Frederik stands next to his wife they have the same length. By deduction Mathilde is taller than Frederik. Look at the picture when several Queens and Princesses were invited by Queen Camilla for afternoon tea. Queen Mathilde was the tallest : taller than Rania of Jordan, taller than Queen Camilla, taller than the Duchess of Edinburgh, taller than Queen Mary, etc... By the way, I bet that Princess Benedikte is taller than her nephew K. Frederik.
DeleteNice, but the patterns are clashing. Unintentionally, I am sure. This isn’t my favourite Zimmerman dress Mary has in her closet. In particular when beside Benedikte’s red heavily patterned coat, this dress washes Mary out.
ReplyDeleteCH
Benedikte's coat boarders on looking like an elegant bathrobe. Mary's dress is ok, needs a belt that is not so casual as the one she used.
ReplyDeleteEdwina
La robe de Mary est pour celles qui aiment le style patchwork des années 70.
ReplyDeleteDonc je passe mon tour. Paloma.
It’s not very often anyone outshines Queen Mary, but this time Princess Benedikte has.The colors, cut and accessories are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI like QM dress, but would have preferred a slimmer belt.
Lowri.
New outfits for almost every occasion. Is materialism and excessive shopping what we are to look up to in royals?
ReplyDelete11.02 I agree!
DeletePrincess Benedicte like her sister and many of us older women who begin to have a problem with our postures would benefit from a tailor or seamstress altering our hems so that they do not hike hike up in front. Not a criticism just a suggestion.
