Empress Masako wore an off-white blazer suit and printed scarf, Princess Aiko wore a light yellow dress

On September 9, 2024, Japan's Emperor Naruhito, Empress Masako, and their daughter, Princess Aiko, visited the special exhibition titled FOLON: Agency of Imaginary Journeys at the Tokyo Station Gallery in Tokyo. Jean-Michel Folon (1934-2005) was one of Belgium's leading artists of the late 20th century. This exhibition displays more than 230 works, including drawings from his early career, watercolor paintings, etchings, posters, and sculptures from his later years.

In picture N° 3 Princess Aiko's hair is looking very lovely and it shines because it is healthy. On the other hand I've always wondered why her hair is growing on her cheek. Sometimes it doesn't look like real hair but something that is painted on her cheek. Her dress reminds me of dresses my mother made for me when I was 14 years old (in the 60-ees) (except for the lace sleeves). I had dresses with the same type of belt and the 2 buttons. I had one in emerald green wool and one in "pied de poule" dark & light grey and white also in wool. This type of dresses one does not see any more. Young people are wearing trousers and sweaters during fall and winter or dark navy jeans + a nice jacket (blazer style) and a sporty hoodie.

The Empress looks wonderful here in a relaxed yet elegant pantsuit. (V.M.)

It’s always a treat to see Aiko. Her dress is pretty, but I’d have liked it even better with long sleeves. — Jane

Empress always looks best in her pant suits. Aiko's dress is surprisingly very modern and lovely with the flat shoes and handbag. she needs to do something about her hair thou, that middle gap is not cool!

This might be the prettiest look we've ever seen on Aiko. It's relatively modern and somewhat reflects her age (grown-up, but still young). I like the little bag. Masako looks classy as always.

      @ Nika
I wore this type of dresses like Aiko in the 60-sees. I cannot call it modern. She certainly is not fashion minded. Her mother is dressed more up-to-date than she is.
