On the morning of Tuesday, September 10, Queen Máxima of the Netherlands officially opened the new 'Dutch Endometriosis Clinic' (NEK) at the Reinier de Graaf Hospital in Delft. Endometriosis is a condition in which cells similar to the lining of the uterus, or endometrium, grow outside the uterus. After the opening ceremony, Queen Máxima toured the clinic, and she spoke with professionals about endometriosis care in the Netherlands and with patients about the impact the condition has on their lives.

The hen in her hair! looks scary!

I think Maxima wonderful but this outfit is not good. The color is a pretty autumnal burnt orange but it looks ill fitting. The pants are too long and clingy and the ruffles look messy. Her hate is interesting and looks like it is made of feathers but it’s difficult to tell? But her smile is always a bonus!

    1. Sorry, I’ll have to be brief. My unloveable, very boring, very snobbish mother in law is coming for lunch today.
I’ll have to “dolly” myself up a bit, wear a bra and try to look worthy of being her daughter in law.😒
So I’ve just got time to say that Queen Max’s outfit is “different”.
OH. I did notice, 8 photos, 7 BIG smiles. 😁

  5. Nah, that´s not good. The material is too flimsy for trousers, they look baggy, saggy, shapeless. And too long (on the model, too). The blouse is ok, though the ruffles are a bit excessive.
I don´t mind the colour, but I mind the combination with the hat in a different shade of brown. I can see tiny bits of orange-y brown in the hat that match the outfit, but overall it´s a mismatch and almost hurts my eyes. The hat is also a questionable design by itself. Probably cost a lot but looks bot ugly and tacky. It´s also a colour that doesn´t suit anyone. The hair - oh well...
    I like the bouquet.

I do like this colour on Maxima, but not the outfit. And the hat/headband was not necessary.

  7. Too much of everything ! I like very much the sentence : "less is more", ie quite the opposite.

    1. Less is more is not in Queen Maxima's vocabulary.

In Queen Max’s case “more is more and less is boring (a quote from Iris Apfel, the famous American fashion personality).

There is something about the ruffle that I like, it is different. The hat/headpiece coordinates better with the outfit in the photos with interior lighting, rather than the outdoor shots. Christine

Yes with a more modest ruffle, I could say yes to the jumpsuit, and a reasonable trousers length. As the model wears it, it is a NO for me. Recently I saw a ninety years old lady, quite elegant, but she was wearing this trousers length and almost fell while walking.

If you have that age (90 years old) you should be wise enough not to wear pants like that. There are other solutions on the clothing market for older people. Look at Queen Silvia, Princess Benedikte, Princess Beatrix,..... they are all looking elegant and do not wear trousers that are too wide and too long.

  9. She is so engaging and happy on this visit, as she is on all her visits. She looks lovely in this color, but I am not a fan of the outfit.

It is not orange. It is burnt orange or dark orange, a fashion color for Winter 2024-2025 again, because it was already fashion last winter 2023-2024.

Love your comment and support of Q Maxima’s style choices, I totally agree with you, she really is unique, has a great gift for being with people and a smile that shines no matter what her hair looks like or what she is wearing, Maxima rocks!!

This is something to look at twice. I am not a fan of so many ruffles, but a nice color I would say a burned orange. Don't know about the hat. css

  14. Je ne vois rien de positif dans sa tenue ; trop de volants sur un tissu léger sans oublier ce genre de coiffe sur ses cheveux lâchés !

Starting from the bottom up. The pants are too voluminous on Maxima it does a great injustice to her beautiful figure. The top is very playful and interesting and would have looked better on a different style of pants. The color is a very nice Fall color. The colors in the “thing”on top of her head are great. That “thing” makes me think of a sleeping rooster. The hair is a major distraction. I’m looking forward seeing the top again with her hair in a high ponytail.

Claes Iversen one of Queen Maxima's favourite Dutch designers. I like the Fall color burnt orange. The pants are a bit too long, but so are those of the model, of the lady just behind her in picture N°4 (black pants and a sleeveless top) and of Princess Charlene's jump suit the other day. The top would have been better with less ruffles. I thought the hat was a rewear of a hat she has since a long time, but according to the site "Modekoningin Maxima" it is a new one that looks almost the same as the old one. The hair : I think she wears a hat to control her hair. In the Netherlands it is the custom that when the queen is opening a new school or clinic or factory or whatever..... she wears a hat. I think with her hair in a simple updo, her outfit (with less ruffles) would have looked better. A more classic pair of golden or pearl earrings would have looked better than those she wears here.

It would be better if combing your hair was on that list too. I don’t mind the headpiece but a bun would have made it look better and certainly neater.

I have seen pictures taken from behind….. her underpants are visible. Why not wearing underpants with a short leg? This is so amateure dressing and ugly as hell. And what with the strange hat?

Distracting the public with kooky outfits and hats, does not take away from the horrible hair.

The blouse is good, but the trousers look shabby because the tissue is too flimsy.
The hairpiece could be good when placed more foreward. In itself it is a nice and very original item.
