  1. Autant d'élégance chez la reine Silvia que chez Madame Macron ; très joli le style exotique de la reine Sofia !

  3. Difficult occasion to know "what to wear"
However, I love Queen Sofia’s colourful outfit.
Madame Macron is being faithful to her slim pants and jacket ensemble.
    A good outfit for a summer’s day?
Looks hot to me. Temperature over 25° celsius in Paris.
But then she is'nt a midi, floral pattern skirt/dress person.
Equivalent to that would be her casual-chic Ralph Lauren wardrobe.
Queen Silvia is playing it safe with her “can’t go wrong” classic outfit.
President Macron seems to have his chest puffed out and looking proud.
Hope he didn’t pop the buttons on his jacket 😁
Gold medal to France for its presentation of the Games.

No, not a gold medal to France. Worst opening ceremonies EVER!

Queen Silvia looking exceptionally chic. The final photo appears to have Albert in a foul mood and the ladies looking on in wonder … but we can never tell in a single snapshot what was actually going on … which may more likely have been boredom? - Grace

My thought was they were playing an anthem, or this was during the flag ceremony. There are a lot of photos of the royals looking serious, then it turns out there was an anthem being played. Christine

I like Queen Sofia's outfit. She has it in several patterns now. For a change she could have made the top of this one a little bit shorter than the others. She looks different since a while. I think she must be very tired. Only the fact of so many people in the "Stade de France" would have been too much for me. One must not forget that she and Queen Sylvia are not young anymore. Queen Sylvia's outfit is nice, but she has better combinations. The one she is wearing now is probably one of her oldest. President and Madame Macron are looking fresh as always, as well as King Carl Gustav who is looking as he is amusing himself and happy to be there.

So how should it look for a good hair day?
      I'm curious.

Both Queens are dressed very nicely. I noticed in picture 5 Queen Sofia has very swollen ankles, hence wearing long pants to hide them. Such elegant ladies.

Queen Sofia's swollen ankles are a sign she should avoid the heath. It can also be a sign of heart problems. I am not a MD but since I have the same problems, I know what I am talking about. Resting in a cool room (airco) with your legs and feet higher take the swelling away. Also walking a bit can help.

Pretty outfit on Sofia. The ex-King Constantine II who was the subject of a memorial service earlier this year was her brother. Her cousin Prince Michael passed away, her sister Irene is in a wheelchair. When did the wildfires in Greece start, before or after this ceremony? She may have a lot on her mind. On another photo I was going to make a comment about how Europeans make the commute to Paris look easy, but maybe the traveling caught up with Sofia. Christine

@ Christine. From Belgium it is easy, the TGV to Paris about the same or faster than the Eurostar to London. Or a plane, but I think King Philippe and Queen Mathilde were already in France at their villa on île d'Yeux. During the Summer King W. Alexander and Queen Maxima are normally at their villa in Greece, but maybe they booked an hotel in the neighborhood of Paris. The Danes were also often there in the beginning, maybe they stayed also at an hotel. The G.D. of Luxemburg and family also have holiday villa's in France, so maybe they stayed already there and booked an hotel near the games for a week for them and their family. Possibilities enough. Travelling in hot weather for older persons like Queen Sofia, Queen Silvia, etc... is not recommended. Everything is depending on the health conditions of an older person. Some have an iron health and can still visit a lot of countries when they are old, some become fragile and have to look out what they are doing.
