On July 29, 2024, Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa of Luxembourg visited the Biermans-Lapôtre Foundation in Paris, which is currently hosting 21 young athletes. Since 1926, the Biermans-Lapôtre Foundation has been a residence that hosts more than 500 students, researchers, and professors from various backgrounds each year. The building primarily welcomes Belgian and Luxembourgish students.

DeleteShe loves to break fashion rules. Sometimes it works, this time not so much. I like the pieces but they overwhelm her, especially the earrings.

DeleteLove the jacket--as styled on the model it is a great look! MT's choice of what appears to be a gold lame or silk jumpsuit is no. I could see the jumpsuit as an evening/cocktail outfit but with this jacket it is a total mismatch. The huge bo-ho type earrings I guess to tie together the jumpsuit and the jacket but they don't do the job as they don't look good with either the jacket or the jumpsuit. Hope to see a re-wear of the jacket with something that works better.

The wrap I don't like, the rest of her outfit looks quite nice. Her hair looks fabulous, love the subtle streaks and her short hair, beautifully styled.

I think, originally, Barbara Bui was a designer noted for her outerwear.
She has a French mother and a Vietnamese father .
Her work is one hundred percent French.
She established her studio and workshop about 30 years ago in a very “trendy” area in Paris. (The Marais).
She has had no formal training as a fashion designer.
I think her capes would suit both a tall and short woman.
Would love to see Princess Charlène wearing one of her creations.

Cette tunique imprimée convient fort bien à la Grande Duchesse mais pas au niveau de la longueur qui coupe trop sa silhouette ; très bon choix que ses lunettes de soleil !

ReplyDeleteI like the light-weight jacket. The jumpsuit in another material (not-shiny) and in another color (navy or burnt orange) underneath the jacket would have been better. After all they are on holiday in France like every year but this year they are also in Paris for the OG. Other years we only see a family picture at the end of the holidays or used as a Christmas card. Grand-Duke Henri is also dressed casual. I like the turquoise color of the Luxemburg Olympic Team.
ReplyDeleteJe suis pourtant de bonne humeur mais là je n'aime rien : ni la coiffure, ni les lunettes, ni les sandales, ni le pyjama, ni le peignoir tarabiscoté, et surtout pas les boucles d'oreilles en plat à tarte ! De toute façon c'est bien rare que j'aime le style de cette dame qui aime se faire remarquer. Paloma.
ReplyDeleteC'est bien rare que vous aimez quoi que ce soit de beacoup de ces dames royales. Elles sont là dans leurs vêtements de vacances. Elles ne doivent pas être habillées formellement. La reine Maxima reçoit également et souvent des commentaires qu'elle aime bien de se faire remarquer. Ce n'est pas parce que les autres n'aiment pas votre style de vêtements que vous ne pouvez pas être une personne agréable et gentille. Des qualités que je crois la GD Maria Teresa ainsi que la reine Maxima possèdent à volonté.

Je suis d'accord que parfois les différentes pièces ne sont pas toujours bien coordonnées point de vue couleurs. Mais la façon de décrire les vêtements de la GD et de terminer qu'elle aime de se faire remarquer trahit qu'en fait ce ne sont pas uniquement ses vêtements que vous n'aimez pas, mais non plus la personne.

DeleteCe n'est pas exact. J'aime souvent certaines tenues et j'écris des commentaires positifs, ils ne sont pas systématiquement négatifs.
Par exemple, pour la princesse de Grèce, très classe.
En général j'aime beaucoup les tenues de Letizia, qui, à mon goût, est une des femmes les plus élégantes. Mary de Danemark aussi. Je préfère les tenues simples et chics, sans rajouts inutiles. Pour moi, une tenue très colorée et très voyante n'est pas forcément jeune, ni tendance, ni moderne.
Effectivement, j'aime moins le style de MT et Maxima. Est-ce un tort ?
Tant mieux si d'autres l'apprécient. Ici, on échange nos points de vue, on dit ce qu'on aime ou ce qu'on n'aime pas. Chacun ses goûts et ses opinions. Il me semble que je ne suis pas agressive dans mes commentaires. Si on n'aime pas quelque chose pourquoi cela vous contrarie autant ? Pourquoi n'aurais-je pas le droit de dire que ça ne me plaît pas ? Il faut obligatoirement tout trouver merveilleux, sous prétexte que les vêtements sont portés par des reines et des princesses ??
Je crois aussi que les goûts français pour la mode sont très très différents des goûts britanniques !! (Les britanniques sont en majorité ici). J'ai remarqué que les robes fleuries plaisaient souvent alors que je ne les trouve pas très jolies (mais, pour ne pas vexer, je ne dis souvent rien). Belle fin de journée à vous. Paloma.

I love MT's look. To me, her outfit and accessories perfectly represents her personality - bright, sunny, warm and fun-loving - and is in sync with her personal style. The bold jacket is colourful, loose and comfortable given the season and the weather, and is the perfect way to dress down a gold jumpsuit for daytime wear (gold and bronze are popular summer colours in warm climates). All the colours coordinate well, and highlite her Latina tan. Nice.
