The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have given a sit-down interview to Jane Pauley for "CBS Sunday Morning", which will air in full on August 4. The Duke and Duchess chatted with journalist Jane Pauley about how they are tackling online bullying for younger generations in the episode airing Sunday. The Duke and Duchess also spoke to Jane Pauley about their new initiative centered around kids and social media, which will launch next week.

ReplyDeleteEveryone in the public eye faces the same challenges, the only difference they act the victims, which is ironic given how they treat their own families.
m.
so ein Stuss! würde da eher die Lage verdrehen! Wie gingen die "Royals" mit ihren üblen Mitarbeitern mit Harry und Meghan um!
DeleteTo m. Meghan’s outfit is subtle and elegant. The subdued colors she wears never compete with her words during serious interviews. It is astonishing to me that you and so many others are completely blind to the fact that their family issues are the other way around — their families have treated Harry and Meghan dreadfully. Her family SOLD story after story about her to the tabloid press—the Daily Mail is a regular source of income for them. The worst offenders are her own Father and Half sister—who is 18 years older than Meghan, moved out when Meghan was born, and with whom Meghan DID NOT grow up. Meghan is actually quite close to the half sister’s daughter who is estranged from her very nasty mother. Charles and Camilla have leaked nasty stories about anyone who got in their way for decades. William is a cold fish with a very bad temper who was not supportive of his brother and showed no understanding of Meghan’s struggles early on. These two have done no harm to anyone and are trying to help on an issue that is literally killing youth around the world due to suicide.
DeleteAgree 100%. It’s strange.
DeleteAnd radio wise it’s simply ok.
Agree about playing victims, blaming everyone else for their multiple failures, plus the horrible way they have treated both her family, and the Royal family. j
DeleteIndeed! MR
Delete100% agree!
DeleteNot everyone in the public eye faces the deliberately targeted hatred that Meghan receives. An example is the article written by Jeremy Clarkson a close friend of Camilla. I think on line bullying is a worldwide issue and anything that can be done to support parents and children in tackling this has to be a good thing. I think Meghan looks very Meghan here… not flashy very much her usual vibe. LRB

Delete100% agree with you. And the Dutchess outfit is really lovely.

I agree with 15:23 and 19:22. The article about Meghan penned by Jeremy Clarkson was totally appalling. It wasn’t condemned by the palace (and Camilla even went to an event attended by Jeremy Clarkson and Piers Morgan, another person known for his misogynistic and racist comments …)
DeleteI wish they would grow up and quit complaining.
DeleteHarry looks just like Harry, and I like his choice of clothes. Meghan’s face looks different but I can’t pinpoint why. With her choice of blouse she is looking a little like a horticultural or zoo expert, but still very neat and clean. I wonder whether they gave bullying solutions in the interview, it’s such a tricky topic, even for experts. - Grace
ReplyDeleteI agree, something felt different about her face. Maybe a new makeup?
DeleteSounds like the Botox's sniffer dogs are out and about.
DeleteI would say it looks like she lost some weight after being pregnant..otherwise looks the same.
DeleteRhe outfit is very flattering - though they look concerned.
ReplyDeleteActually they are lucky because they got out the RF. Harry's service for his loved ones was never appreciated by them. They Took away the sevurity, the wedding present of the Queen Elisabeth, titels, ....if you are not blind you couls see that love was always from one side.
I don’t think there was a lack of love in the family although maybe not expressed in a way we may find the correct way. And the young royals probably change this in the way they bring up their children.
DeleteI recall William & Catherine highlighting a similar initiative in ‘19 in the UK.I’m sure 1st Lady Trump had an initiative in the US, ‘be best’.
ReplyDeleteIt seems similar minds think alike,I think the saying is.
Lowri.
Melania forgot who she was married too. Considering what we see readers of this blog writes about H&M we need all the help we can get to battle online bullying.
DeleteI have to say in response. There are no greater bullies on line than the self proclaimed ‘Sussex Squad’.From what I’ve read they have mercilessly attacked William and Catherine in threats and language that would be forbidden on any other platform.Never more so than during her illness. To my knowledge not once have H&M come out and shut them down.In fact,I suggest you google it,H&M have been photographed with participants of the group.
DeleteSo it might be an idea for them to clean house, shut down their own supporters before crying victim of online bullying abuse. That way they may stand a chance of coming across as authentic.
Lowri.
Hear, hear Lowri
DeleteThe color and style work well for the Duchess and their message is an important one. Let’s leave the rest alone.
ReplyDelete100% Agree.
DeleteAda
So who's going to be the first to say it needs a "pop of colour"?😀
DeleteThis is not a good colour for M!
ReplyDeleteWhat would you suggest? How would you have styled Meghan for this interview?
DeleteWhy always these exclusive interviews?
ReplyDeleteWhy not work professionally and hold a press conference? Or better yet, just start working without much ado.
Why launch all these initiative in the first place (instead of supporting already existing ones)?
Why another initiative involving victim mentality? As much as I understand that online bullying is a massive problem, it is certainly not solved by two very priviledged celebrities sitting in their mansion wearing designer clothes.
They wanted to be private and left alone, but do everything possible to attract attention.
Ah, the irony.
They never said they wanted to be private or left alone. You bought the british rotas hate line, hook and sinker. The irony is when you talk about online bullying. Congrats.
DeleteI agree. They claim they want privacy but then do everything they can to put themselves in the public eye and then get upset when they get criticized or questioned. If you are in the public eye you will, at some point, be criticized. Even his mum Princess Diana was criticized and she was and still is a much beloved figure by many. Harry will be 40 next month and he does himself no favors by blaming everyone for his problems and being a perpetual victim. He and Meghan are responsible for their successes and failures…no one else.
Delete100% agree
Delete@Vanessa 16:31
DeleteI fully agree with everything you say here, very poignant questions!
An initiative that will be mostly online info and seminars needs more than a press release.
DeleteThey want their private life to be "left alone" not their good works. There is a difference.
Fashion wise, I really like this color on the Duchess. And Harry is Harry. Well groomed and appropriate.
Such a great point Vanessa. I suspect they may get paid for the exclusive? ; and I too wish they’d join the hundred+ other bullying initiatives out there as you say. Is an interview or even press conference necessary then - a press release after some achievement is often more effective than celebrating the commencement of another initiative which may or may not have any success. Grace
DeleteVanessa, always on point! Thank fullt agree!
DeleteExcellent comment
DeleteVanessa has found a choir. Never mind a roomful of parents of dead teenagers who want to be of service to others. Nevermind the RF whose members head hundreds of charities and are physically unable to connect or be impactful with solutions...but it is easier to insert oneself into a family rift than focus on parents devastated by a child's sudden death...which was the topic .
DeleteWell said, Vanessa. They don’t want to join existing initiatives because it then they can’t arrange things to suit themselves.
DeleteTo anon. 16:41:
DeleteParents devastated by a child´s death was not the topic. If that´s your topic, then why do you spend time on a royal fashion site?
You pointed out correctly that there are numerous charities already addressing all sorts of societal problems. So why did they launch another? Because they can put their name on it!! It´s selfish. Just like the exclusive interview which means a lucrative media deal for them. If they really wanted to address the problem, they could do so without any public attention and be genuine for once.
The best way to address bullying is to give young people opportunites in life, a chance to thrive and achieve something, take responsibility. And to help build a respectful society without clashing groups and ideologies. Harry and Meghan however do the opposite and make everything about victim mentality, which means the "victims" will look for someone to blame. This will just keep the vicious cycle going and render their new initiative as useless as all the others and in fact counterproductive. Most of all though, they need to stop acting as victims themselves.
I don´t care about Harry and Meghan´s dispute with their respective families. I´m not even a huge fan of the royal family because of their shady business and being part of the world´s very destructive power structure. And I couldn´t care less about Harry and Meghan´s private life. Given their relentless push for media attention, it´s hard not to notice them. Unfortunately. I´m just reacting to their double standards, their dishonesty and their contradictions in what they share publicly.
Go Vanessa!
DeletePerhaps they could work with Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia and their organisation? Princess Sofia was very bullied before her marriage!
ReplyDeletePrincess Sofia is rumored to have bullied people in the past if one is to believe the rumors. And Harry and Meghan want to take credit for their ‘initiatives’ seemingly without doing much work…if one is to believe the rumors also!
DeleteAnon 22:55. So good of you to spread rumors. Not! Rumor mongers are the worst kind, your comment is a prime example. First you tell unsubstantiated lies and then add "if one is to believe". Hypocrite. Instead of spreading baseless rumors, imagine yourself at the receiving end of those rumors. "Did you hear what such and such did, said? Of course, it's just a rumor, but...." and there's nothing you can do about it. Rumors destroy, trust, credibility, just about everything and in the end people. Are you able to understand that? Don't spread with your mouth what your eyes didn't see and your ears didn't hear.

DeleteLa couleur de cette association lui va à merveille ; qu'a t-elle fait à son visage à moins que le photographe s'y soit mal pris ?!
ReplyDeleteAlways a new initiative.
ReplyDeleteYes…and they all seem to fizzle out too. No doubt this one will too.
DeleteYes…and what exactly have they accomplished too? They keep coming up with new ideas that fizzle out!
DeleteThis is normal for an organization, bet you don't say that to William and Kate when they come up with new initatives for theirs. You people are so see through.
DeleteYet their initiative dosen’t get burried in the sand after an exclusive/intimate/secret etc interview, they are continuous for several years..
DeleteHow about how their own families treat them? The truth is sometimes ugly but royal or not both their families are totally dysfunctional, I don’t blame this couple for putting distance between themselves and both sides of their toxic families, they are doing the right thing for themselves and their children’s mental well being. On the fashion front they both look beautiful, Rem
ReplyDeleteWell said.
DeleteVery well said, REM.
DeleteAnd how about how they treat their families? Two sides to every argument.
DeleteNEGATIVE : I think part of the British press really hit the bottom when they published by one of their journalists, Jeremy Carkson, that he was "dreaming of the day when Meghan is made to parade naked through the streets of every town in Britain while crowds chant, 'Shame!' and throw lumps of excrement at her". I don’t think he lost his job and the palace remained silent. Freedom of expression ????
DeletePOSITIVE : Both the Princess of Monaco and The Duchess of Sussex could be great ambassadors for Ralph Lauren. From what we’ve seen of their wardrobes, Ralph Lauren’s minimalistic designs, timeless styles and monochromatic colours seem to fit in with their respective fashion tastes.
Anonymous 17;55:
DeleteHow on earth can you state their families are “ dysfunctional”???
How would you know ??
It is beyond me that you dare to say this about someone you donot know,
April
@Anon 13:02 It is hardly a secret that there is dysfunction in these families. It goes back generations in the BRF. Members of the family have not been happy by the restraints that have been placed on them because of their titles, and they have had to give up a great deal of happiness because of it. Resentment naturally followed. Edward VIII, or The Duke of Windsor, is the most famous example. The Queen Mother's attitude toward the Duke and Duchess of Windsor was a poorly kept secret. Princess Margaret was another scandal all her own from the time she was a young lady. I don't elaborate, but you can research it on your own. Present day, they have Andrew. The fact that Harry and Meghan are the bigger story for not wanting to live a full time dependent royal life is beyond me.
DeleteMeghan's family used her for financial gain to sell stories to tabloids. I can't understand this because I don't have a family that would do something like that. I only have one living parent, but she has her priorities straight. She wants to see her children happy. She knows that she cannot dictate what that looks like, because it is different for each of us. The bottom line is that our happiness is her happiness. Something gets twisted in these royal families, and that makes me sad.
April, that they are dysfunctional has been known for decades. Even the royal press has written about this. Diana, Sarah and Charles in their books outed the royal family and described how nasty the court was. Nothing has changed according to Harry's book. Charles told in his book his dad was a bully, and his mother was cold and to busy being Queen to be a mother. https://www.chicagotribune.com/1994/10/23/the-prince-of-whine-keeps-on-whining-whining-whining/

A nice outfit, colour is okay for her as she tends to like plain, neutral tones.
ReplyDeleteWhat about bullying of staff, any comments on that?
ReplyDeleteYes, here's a comment for you Anon 18:53: Unless you yourself was one of their staff members AND was 'bullied' by them, or personally experienced behaviour to you that is defined as bullying, quit promoting trashy, repugnant heresay.
DeleteTell us about your personal experiences with them and we decide, but until then, stop promoting unsubstantiated hatred. That, and the people who do so, are the worst type.

DeleteAnon 09:13. Great comment, I totally agree. The "Daughters of Selfrighteousness" are out in full force again, bless their little hearts.
DeleteHello 18:53 Looks like the Duchess of Sussex is not the only one being accused of bullying staff.
DeleteIn 2020 and 2022 the Grand Duchess Maria Teresa of Luxembourg came into the public spotlight for supposedly “bullying” her staff. The 2022 scenario appeared to be about her clothes and her daughter’s wedding. It was not a rumour. See following..........
https://today.rtl.lu/news/luxembourg/a/2031514.html
Hello Anon 22:48
DeleteYou said “It’s always someone else’s fault”.
You know, sometimes I have to take my hubby to task about something or other and he always screams out “it’s not my fault - it’s not my fault”. And you know what, sometimes, embarrassingly to me, I find out it wasn’t his fault.
But I make a nice cake for him for his afternoon tea and all is forgiven.
On a philosophical note, life has its ups and downs no?
@ deadeggs 10:05
DeleteI remember when this news was in the media, the first thing I asked myself was "Who is the boss there ?" the staff members or the Grand duke and Grand duchess. I've always admired the support of the Grand duke for his wife. Frankly I wouldn't be in the place of royals and nobility. Apparently they have less to say than ordinary people. They simply have to accept what their staff decides for them and do what they are told, just like children. No thank you, not my cup of tea. I cannot imagine Queen Letizia and Queen Maxima, with their temperament, accepting everything what their staff decides for them. But maybe they have a friendly staff that follow the rules dictated by the king and queen and the royal household.
Meghan looks amazing. Great colour on her. Harry is handsome. This is a fantastic initiative. Teach kids how to behave online and the ramifications online bullying has. That include not behaving like their parents and grandparents we see on this blog. After all these, two know what online bullying is. Just read the comments here.
ReplyDeleteThis ensamble looks really good on the model.

Fully agree, the model does wear it astonishingly well. Meghan could have chosen a more lively colour, now that she is allowed to do so *giggle*
DeleteYes, I tend to agree, it looks like a same color vest underneath, which I prefer, it adds interest to this outfit.
DeleteWhile looking at these pictures it gradually grew on me that I saw two very sad people, in every sense of the word.
ReplyDeleteHence their choice of initiatives, to brighten the world and themselves.
They both look well dressed and professional. Link to BBC article about interview. This is a crucial initiative—cyber bullying takes lives.

Deletei think Prince Harry is geting a 'little' American accent .......cute.
Nice color blouse. Meghan really looks good in this outfit. Well Sofia of Sweden and Mary of Denmark both have the ANTI BULLYING charity, both are working very hard at them for a long time. Sadly, to say it will never stop until Society wakes up and smell the coffee. It seems to me for some people being nasty is enjoyment at the expense of others, one also has to have an ounce of character and respect of others and ONESELF, not to do harm to others in words or deeds. Thank you for letting me say this. If it is too much feel free to delete this comment. Again Thank you. css
ReplyDeleteWell said
DeleteThere is something decidedly different about Megan, I can’t quite work it out.
ReplyDeleteThe colour is nice, but again bland.
I would love to see her in a splash of colour. A different style would be nice. Her ensembles all have a similar theme.
She gave an interview years ago about wearing colours , was an issue when she was a working royal.
Mostly , not always she gravitates to either white, beige or black, very neutral and boring.
Not these two. Again!!
ReplyDeleteLol ! Agree.

DeleteLove her style in general. Modern and sofisticated. She can wear bright colors as well as nude colors.
ReplyDeleteLike always when Harry and Meghan give an interview or appear somewhere a lot of comments about how they should behave and what bad people they are. Only a few comments about fashion. This blog is used by the haters of Harry and Meghan. Everything one can read here is based on rumours. I hate the haters, but if I may give them 1 advice, please do continue it is the best publicity you can give Harry and Meghan and don't forget that in a family where the members don't live in good understanding with each other, mostly there are always two versions of the story and not one which can be considered as "the" truth. In fact I think that King Charles himself would have been the first to let his son visit him, but being sick and old he is manipulated by certain members of his family and his entourage and he cannot decide himself anymore.
ReplyDeleteIt is presumptuous of you to consider King Karol a manipulated puppet, it is completely unfounded of you. I see that in the royal family they live in good understanding: William and Kate with their adorable children, Prince Edward and Sophie with their children, Princess Anna with her husband Timothy, Zara and Mike Tindall, etc. etc. .. The king and his wife also apparently get along very well. he king and his wife also apparently get along very well.
DeleteStephanie
Well said. Agree completely. Sarah.
Delete@ Stephanie
DeleteWhat you see is not always what you get. And it is not King Karol it is King Charles (proper names cannot be translated). And it is not unfounded there are sources close to the Royal Family itself who spoke to the media. I will not explain who and about whom they spoke because I don't wish to be part of those who believe the rumours, but when a (grand)father says he misses his grandchildren I believe him. King Charles is born in the same year as I am. I have 1 grandchild too. I can imagine he must feel very sad that he cannot meet with Archie and Lillibet.
It seems to me that so much of this mess could have been put to rest if the palace didn't have a policy of remaining silent, or relying on secret spokespersons. If Charles doesn't resent Harry for living a life independently from "the firm", he could end this with a few well-placed official statements. At the end of the day, this is a family that deserves to be happy without worldwide interference. This has been allowed to fester for far too long. The media, and those that feed off of the gossip, have made a private matter much bigger than it ever had to be.
DeleteAnon 02:07. You nailed it. Great comment, totally agree.

ReplyDeleteGiven that they couldn’t help eachother out when Meghan was allegedly bullied, depressed etc I have a hard time taking instructions on this specific matter from them. Maybe another topic…
ReplyDeleteThey should mend the relationships with their own parents before they give advice to others and launch self promoting projects.

DeleteI’m afraid I can’t see a way back after all their back stabbing and lie telling.
Adults should not have to grovel for acceptance from abusive relatives .
Delete100% agree.
DeleteAnd the answer to Anonymous from 15:23, who claims - I quote: "Her family SOLD story after story about her to the tabloid press". And then what is the Netflix documentary and book Spare: Harry and Meghan SOLD the story to the press. Without the royal family, they would be nothing and no one would be interested in their biographies."

Delete@00:38 Why are YOU looking for a way back? Is living In a cottage near to a palace depending on your granny, father and brother for money how most married live in the world? Even before he met Meghan there are interviews of Harry saying he wanted to leave. And let's not pretend that the nasty rhetoric in the years 2018 to 2020 when they said nothing did not happen. Oprah Interview was 2021.
DeleteThe moral of your story is that abuse within a family especially behind palace walls should be covered up and the person who suffers needs to be quiet because there is no other path through life for them.. Your fairy tale will be ruined if they don't show up wearing a tax payer funded smile; ready to shake hands and cut ribbons.

DeleteYou people...first we are taking about kids and bullying. Get a grip here. I understand that your sight get red as soon as Harry and Meghan breathe, but isn't it ironic that Harrys parents both outed the royal family, and the royal court just like Harry did. Charles even called his father a big bully that mocked him, and made his childhood lonely. He said his mother was cold, but still oh, how nasty Harry and Meghan are. It is not only up to Harry and Meghan to fix the relasionship with their parents. That Meghan doesn't want to fix things with her family I understand completely. Who would trust your family members that sells stories to the media, only want money from you and tell bs stories to earn money like sis did as soon as it was known Meghan was Harrys girlfriend. I would have done the same. It must be nice sitting at home in the livingroom knowing what goes on inside the court, the royal family, and knowing who to blame....did we read and belive the royal rota's bs or did we get the sixth sense?

Dear deadeggs, the comments were allowed to be posted. It always leads to vitriol. I cannot know if these comments were vetted or not, but if they were, I cringe to think what is worse than has been posted here. Don't be too hard on yourself. It is difficult for good people to see hatred and say nothing. Well brought up people know how to express their differences of opinion with respect. That is sorely lacking here. This free-for-all gives one the impression that the asylum has been taken over by the lunatics. It does take away from the focus of this blog, which is fashion, and the only reason I come here.
