Mary looks gorgeous - modern and stylish and not overdone. The perfect outfit for a private party with close friends, allowing her some leeway for personal style, instead of being dictated by her title of Queen. The colours of the two-piece are beautiful, and I like that she tied the bow behind. Looks like she and the lady in silver are wearing similar style shoes, and I love both.
Pity that Fred's suit creases so much.

I agree with your comment about the leeway Queen Mary has (enjoys) with her personal style, and the style she is dictated to when ‘on duty’ as a Queen.

Fred often dresses badly. Suits are a bad cut and fit, trousers never the right length..he often looks shabby..

The fuchsia pink is a great color for Mary. She looks best in bright and jewel tone colors.

    1. According to the model, Queen Mary is wearing the top back to front ?
Perhaps the designer, Erden Moralioglu, designed the top with a "retro-verso" possibility.
But the slit in the skirt is worn at the back, the same as the model.

I like this colour onQueen Mary, but honestly the king needs to get a suit that is not as tight so the wrinkles are minimized. Time to retire this suit.

King Frederik is wearing a linen suit again. If the suit was not so tight the creases would be there too and even more visible. King Frederik is wearing his suits always tight (fashion for men in Denmark ?). Maybe he likes it that way. Since he is rather short, I think with wider pants and jackets, he would look wider than he is and even shorter.

It doesn't matter. He is king and still has sex appeal and that glimpse in the eye.

I think for a birthday party for a Dane the suit is completely right. More fitted trousers have been the fashion in Denmark for many years now. I think it’s a private event - Grace

I think the creases are there because of the fabric. It looks like a linen-cotton blend to me, which creases very easily.

King Frederik is 6 ft.tall so I don't think he is “rather short”.
But I’ve often heard said by women of a certain standing that the creases with their linen dresses, jackets etc are creases of “class”.
      For men, I don’t know. 😏

Dear deadeggs, in germany we say "Leinen knittert edel", but i agree to you, after a time of wearing a linenshirt i look like as if i have slept in it... anna e.

Normally I do not like Erdem, but this is a beautiful combination of skirt and blouse. A good idea to wear the scarf like Q. Mary does, which is better than the model. The color is good for her too. Lovely sandals.

My comment didn't post from 10 hours ago. Mary looks great in this 2 piece. The colour and simple chic style look marvellous on her. Also gives her some leeway to dress personally instead of 'Queen duty' since this is a private party with close friends, albeit a famous one. I like that she has worn the bow at the back.
Looks like she and the lady in silver are wearing similar styles of sandals (Mary's are by Altuzarra) and I love them both.

Queen Marry has a selection of Erdem designs in her closet, each as lovely as the last. This fuchsia pink ensemble is no exception!
The theme of the party, was diamonds and rose!.I guess the fuchsia pink falls into the ‘rose’

Les fleurs rouges de sa robe ressemblent beaucoup à des roses. Personnellement je trouve ce motif assez ringard mais il est vrai que j'aime rarement les tenues Erdem ! Chacun ses goûts.

Frederick will never win the most stylish royal ever. He is who he is. Whilst we all respected his mum, I respectfully would say she never won the most stylish Queen award either.

Mary on the other hand is innately stylish. Before she was even his girlfriend. And that you can’t buy, even with the services of a stylist. She looks beautiful, confident and healthy.

Btw, her sandals are Stuart Weizman. On sale at Saks.

    1. For almost 20 years, many of the royal ladies have turned to the British fashion house of Erdem Moralıoğlu for their outfits.
Catherine, the Princess of Wales, Duchess Sophie are amongst just a few of the royal names, plus international names like Michelle Obama can be found on his list of clients.
The Duchess of Sussex (Duchess Megan) has been one of his regular customers but she seems to be, more and more, turning to Californian and New York designers.
In 2020 he received an MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) for his services to fashion.

The sandals are Aquazzura and cost around 1300 USD. It is nice that she has new items for every occasion almost. Long live the Danish Royal fashion House.

    4. Back in her day Queen Margrethe was known for some of her more iconic , flamboyant and exuberant fashion choices. I think her eccentric and unique wardrobe was inspired by being an artist and costume designer. I always thought she was ahead of her time back in the day. I can see her now in the daisy pattern raincoat and hat made from oil cloth used on tables, that image stilll sticks in the back of my mind!

The colour is stunning on Mary and I like the overall design. I just wish it was in a different material - not overly fond of the spaghetti strap top with a sheer overlay, I think it cheapens the look a bit.

Mary needs colors. She wouldn't look good in the little black dress.
