On July 14, 2024, the Princess of Wales made her first appearance at Wimbledon 2024 alongside her daughter, Princess Charlotte. They initially met with players, including British tennis ace Emma Raducanu. The Princess of Wales and Princess Charlotte then watched Serbia's Novak Djokovic and Spain's Carlos Alcaraz battle it out on Centre Court for the Wimbledon championship. Later on, in her role as royal patron of the All England Lawn Tennis Club, the Princess of Wales presented the trophy to the winner.

She did indeed get a standing ovation. Nice dress and it was good to see that she looked far less tense and a lot healthier than at Trooping the colour in June. Praying that her recovery continues

Beautiful dresses for Kate and Charlotte, love the dots and love the purple. Though the "pleated chest" part might have been tricky, I think it works. Princess Charlotte's sunglasses are just sweet.

    1. Why exactly? Can you explain? You don't like the colour? This may be a personal taste. You think it doesn't fit? Could you explain, what was wrong in your eyes?

Good questions Beth. Dear anonymous, the throw away one liner doesn’t add to this blog … go daring, stay respectful, and add to the fashion thoughts by explaining. As for me, I think the Duchess looks absolutely superb in this royal purple colour and style. I’d own the dress myself if I could - Grace

The draping is overdone for a fit and flare dress that would not translate other semi formal occasions very well. Wearing the club color is so predictable. The denier of the fabric could have been a little thicker. There is too much flare so it hangs on her slim frame (see it in motion on the field).
Suggestion: Her dresser could have opted for a simple swing dress with a little heft (printed or solid) to hide her thinness and add a couple of chunky bracelets in green and purple as a nod to the club. They dress this poor girl too old for her age.
To add .... there is no such thing as princess dressing. Let her live in the real world without the stress of fairytale constrictions.

@Fash You make some valid points. I am not crazy about this dress. I found it predicable. Kate wearing a purple dress, in this style, to Wimbledon didn't surprise me. She is known for her messaging with her wardrobe. I don't know who is fully responsible for her wardrobe, meaning how much the proverbial "they" have to say about it, and how much input she actually has. I agree with you that there is no such thing as princess dressing, just that the BRF has a different standard than other royal families. I also agree that a lot of the time her clothes are aging. I think she dresses to the "expectations", and the people with those expectations forget what times we live in and that it is possible to be a respectable royal and still dress in a more contemporary fashion. She always looks amazing when she does.

Kate looks lovely. I really like her purple dress, especially the bodice. Her earrings aren’t my favorite - they look a bit clunky with the style of the dress. Charlotte looks a lot like William to me.

Beautiful dress in a beautiful color. I love the draping on the bodice. The dress is a bit too long too my taste, but since Princess Catherine is a tall woman she can have this length. Nice to see her back and in the company of her daughter.

She is looking thinner yes, but she was already thin before she was ill.
To me her hair looks the same as before. I think she is looking better than at the Trooping the color event.

  12. Absolutely lovely dress, she looks far less exhausted than in the trooping the colour event. I think she deserved the standing ovations, well done, Wimbledon audience!
Hope the family can recover from the shock in summer and she can use her platform to advocate for less privileged cancer-stricken families in the future.

Absolutely beautiful. It was wonderful to see the princess of Wales at Wimbledon with princess Charlotte. I love her dress and shoes. Does anyone know where her shoes are from? PTYs little princess looked beautiful too - love her hairstyle and sunglasses as well.

That’s a busy bodice she’s wearing. It might be too much. Isn’t her dress too long??

Nice dress nothing spectacular but it suits her well gives her a nice shape, in Wimbeldon colour. I don’t like the bodice, to me it would be better if the draping was the same on both sides, though this adds interest. Love Princess Charlottes sun galsses so cute and a nice girly dress.

  23. Nice color but I do not like the upper part of the dress. The length is in trend now - it's so called midimax, between midi dress and maxi dress, I like this length. She looks glad and happy and that's the main thing.

Very moving to see Catherine again, and seemingly enjoying herself.
The dress in one of the club colours: quite adequate and good. The bodice gives her a bit of volume: cleverly done.
I love the way she is attending her little daughter, making her at ease with all the attention.

The Princess of Wales looks smashing! Her dress is gorgeous--I love the design of the bodice. Charlotte looks wonderful too--I love her dress. The navy/white polka dots are great. Glad to see Pippa joining her sister--her dress is very summery and pretty. Charlotte wins in the accessories category--love her sunglasses!

  29. P. Catherine looks so pretty, love the dress. But the star for me is little P. Charlotte who behaves like a seasoned royal pro. P. Catherine has prepared her well for her life in the spotlight and she looks so pretty in her polka dot dress!!

  30. This is a beautiful dress, gorgeous color. The twist in the bodice, I like adding interest. The skirt of the dress has plenty of swish and movement, which I love. I love her earrings, I would wear these no problem. Her bangles look good. Its so good to see her looking well and I hope she keeps progressing well. The standing ovation that she received, speaks volumes. She is much loved. She is very humble and dignified. I wish her all the very best.
