Princess Beatrice wore a rose print floral midi dress from ME + EM for the British Skin Foundation event at Bennett House

On July 23, 2024, Princess Beatrice of York visited St Mary's and St John's Primary School in north-west London. The Princess met with Year Five pupils to discuss the importance of protecting skin from sun damage and the potential for skin cancers later in life. The visit is part of Princess Beatrice's role as the patron of the British Skin Foundation.

  1. The dress is lovely; the flats are less than successful imo.

    1. True. I approve of flats, but this pair doesn't really seem to work.

  2. Always nice to see her t these events. I hope she and her sister inherit more patronages and we see them more frequently even if they don't become official "working royals"

Nice summer dress, but I would have worn a heel with it, I think this would give a better look. Glad she visited the school. css

Dress is nice. Obviously Beatrice's full-length mirror doesn't go all the way to the floor. ~~Ruthie

There seem to be a lot of midi dresses lately. Is this the fashion now, or are the designers hoping it will catch on by Autumn? Christine

    1. Dear Christine. Funny, but I've been thinking the same thing.
And the floral patterns seem to be everywhere.
      But I'm enjoying it ......

      Enjoy.

Its a nice print and suits her colouring. The pockets are tugging making the dress appear tight in that area. Shoes should of been a solid colour to compliment the dress.

Princess Beatrice is a good egg;out and about and a good role model. The dress is bright and cheery;the shoes are fine;comfortable(Tara)

    À really lovely dress!
Such a pity the shoes donot match.

  11. This dress could have looked fine, but unfortunately it is one size too small. As we see on the model it is supposed to have a summary swing. Beatrice on the other hand looks like a pressed in sausage. Shoulders too narrow, bust too tight, waist pulls up, hip pockets gaping open are always a clear sign. The flat shoes add to an overall compressed look. I for myself cannot understand why people would buy a dress that is too small, because it feels so uncomfortable. I mean you feel it the moment you try on a new dress, does it slip over your head easily and shoulders and waist fall into their places or do you have to pull? Does the back zipper close smoothly? When you have to pull the zipper, the dress is too tight.

I wonder why she hasn’t done anything to her teeth all these years? A minor adjustment equal to what Catherine has done would be enough.

      Dear anon
This is a fashion blog. So I do really wonder about your inappropriate comment. My nose is not perfect. I haven't done anything neither.
Don't these "imperfections" as you call them, make us unique and special? I.P.

    2. So now there's a brigade of teeth police in the NewMyRoyal blog.
No news from the bunion brigade for awhile now.

@Anon 12:50 - her teeth are barely even visible in these pictures.

I cannot like this dress. The print reminds too much at a table cloth or bedroom linen. When I saw the name of the brand I new it : this brand ME + EM together with Erdem brand are making dresses I never like. Too long, too country-ish and then with the flats and her legs wide open not elegant at all.

I think Beatrice looks lovely in this dress and I don't have a problem with her Chanel flats--they are a classic. I think she looks comfortable and very approachable for the students. Her enthusiasm is great for young school children too--the last photo shows lots of happy, smiling children. Hopefully Beatrice will start working more on a part-time basis covering royal events and be given more patronages. She is delightful!

Agree it is a size too small and her shoes do not enhance the look.

Beatrice is lovely, but the fit of this dress doesn’t look quite right and I don’t think her shoes go with the dress.

Lovely dress but she should have paired it with a better shoe. It doesn't have to be a high heal but a nice wedge or low-heeled sandal would have been much better.

Unfortunately, this dress and shoe combination gives me hausfrau vibes. I'd be fine with this look if she was at home with her kids, but not for an external engagement, regardless of the pedigree of her clothes.

  19. I like the cut and fabric of the dress but a larger size would have given it a wonderful drape and flow. Beatrice's enthusiasm and participation with the children is wonderful.

I'd love to see the Alicia shoe by Camilla Elphick with the dress. Princess Catherine has shoes and belts from the line that always look fresh

    1. Dear EhBeth : Thanks for the link.
Nice to see up-market, fashion accessories at affordable prices for the average woman like me (a hard working, underestimated housewife).
The “knockoff” will probably be a ticket for a free cup of coffee when you visit one of their shops to do your shopping. Perhaps take your milk and sugar with you just in case they haven’t got any in the “Boutique”.
These types of boutiques usually have little fancy “tra-la-la” cups and a Ne*café machine.
      Happy shopping.
