On July 25, King Felipe and Queen Letizia of Spain attended a reception for the members of the Spanish Olympic Team, participants in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. The reception was held at the Embassy of Spain in Paris. The King and Queen then attended a gala dinner hosted by the IOC and the French Presidency at the Louvre Museum. The Spanish King and Queen will attend the opening ceremony of the 33rd edition of the Olympic Games on July 26.

Letizia’s outfit is interesting. I wasn’t sure I liked the design on the top initially, but it’s growing on me after taking a second look.

Can’t make up my mind on this one. The length seems wrong. Not sure if that’s because of the sandals or if it’s just out of proportion. I think it would look better several inches shorter. The undo is elegant but also gives quite a severe look. Undecided!!

حذفIn our younger days before “Barbie” came along we used to make our dolls out of wooden clothes pegs and they always had a full skirt to make them look ‘girly’. Sometimes we used empty soft drink bottles to make our dolls and always with a big frilly skirt. So no to the Dior dress. Too much skirt.
I like the design on her top very much. It looks like a silver (or gold) tree that is turning into a bird…or a bird that is turning into a tree! The pattern on the skirt looks like a summer garland and the skirt itself looks quite ‘swishy’ thought it looks like it might overwhelm the petite Letizia a bit.
ردحذفI really like this dress but wish the skirt was a little less wide as it almost overwhelms Queen Letizia. She looks beautiful though! One thing--the photos of her with her arms crossed amused me. They look like she hoping the King wraps up his speech soon or maybe she's not exactly happy about what he is saying. I know I'm being silly but I don't think I have ever seen her cross her arms like this before. Usually she either has her arms by her side or her hands clasped together as in the last photo showing KFel speaking.

Yes. It made me wonder if her feet were hurting again. That kind of pain can make you impatient and also less relaxed than usual.

ردحذفThe Dior outfit is lovely - modern and somewhat architectural in shape and design - but it is not suited for slim, petite Letizia, who wears streamlined dresses and chic outfits like few others can. To me, the top is beautiful, but it's the skirt that's the issue - it's too heavy and voluminous for her slim frame. Like someone above said, she looks slightly like a dressed-up doll. From the waist up though, she looks wonderful. She would've aced a sheath dress in the same design and colour as the top, or the top worn with a sexy pencil style long black skirt.

An interesting detail about Letizia's Dior dress. She didn't buy it, she rented it from the French firm. Renting haute couture is becoming very popular in Spain - infanta Sofia did the same for Leonor Constitution swearing ceremony.

حذفAbsolutely in love with Letizia’s striking ensemble. The embellishments on the top evoke old master paintings of Spanish nobility and the skirt is similarly richly adorned. Old richesse did not match its parts; it reveled in luxurious detail. Wonderful!

ردحذفJe rejoins l'avis de beaucoup, quelque chose ne va pas avec cette robe, le haut et le bas sont trop différents, tant par la couleur que par la forme.
ردحذفJe préfère le haut qui est particulièrement raffiné : noir et or c'est chic et festif. J'aurais aimé la robe entièrement noire avec des motifs dorés. Une personne anonyme a parlé d'un arbre et d'un oiseau, moi j'y vois les fontaines lumineuses de Versailles, c'est un beau symbole pour cette soirée.
En même temps les broderies font aussi penser aux boléros des toreros.
Je n'aime pas la jupe, elle est trop large. Et le blanc ne convient pas avec le haut, c'est trop décalé. J'ai l'impression de voir une nappe. Dommage.

I am in love with this look. It reminds me of vintage Dior. The two pieces are a divine match. Letizia's foot problems, requiring flatter shoes, are detracting from an otherwise immaculate outfit.
