Queen Margrethe, King Frederik, Queen Mary, Princess Josephine, Prince Vincent, Prince Gustav, and Princess Carina

On July 18, 2024, King Frederik, Queen Mary, Princess Josephine, and Prince Vincent attended the ceremony of the guard changing held at Graasten Palace. King Frederik's cousin, Prince Gustav, and his wife, Princess Carina, also attended the ceremony. The couple also brought their two children, Mafalda and Gustav Albrecht. In the afternoon, Queen Margrethe arrived at Graasten Palace and was welcomed by the royal family. On July 9, King Frederik and Queen Mary moved their residence to southern Jutland.

Mi piace questa atmosfera rilassata e noto che Vincent ha la stessa postura del padre, gambe larghe e braccia dietro la schiena.

Lovely photos! Sad not to see Christian and Isabella. The twins look great in their summer casual clothes. How great that Gustav and Karina joined the DRF--and their little ones are precious. Little Gustave Alberct is adorable while waving. Marvelous seeing Queen Margretha arriving--her yellow dress is perfect for summertime. Love Queen Mary's trousers (at least they look like trousers in the last photo). Her blouse is also beautiful but I'm not sure about pairing it with the trousers though. Still, she looks relaxed and lovely. From what I can see Karina looks wonderful. I'd love to know what Josephine was saying to Vincent in photo #5--she looks annoyed with him in #4 and in #5 it looks like she's giving him a piece of her mind. Siblings! Hope for some more photos soon and hope to see Christina and Isabella too.

  3. Aww, how sweet to see the Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg Family spending time in Graasten as well. And the two little ones, Hereditary Prince Gustav Albrecht and Princess Mafalda, are just adorable.

Les tenues de Joséphine et Vincent sont décontractées mais assez élégantes, c'est un bon choix. La chemise de Mary est très jolie mais je n'aime pas son pantalon ultra large. Paloma.

  7. The king is dressed the worst. Strange when you think that his father was always dressed impeccably. His outfit is bad even for a casual outfit. Trousers much too long. But then again look at the trousers of the other gentleman. Miles too long. Is this the men's style in Denmark? Just wondering.

Harsh criticism Beth. Apart from being king, he’s just a man. He’s on holiday, and has briefly stepped out of the front door for a quick wave and photos. He’s neat and clean, and on holiday! It’s completely enough! - Grace

Frederick and the trouser break is always an issue, especially in uniform and dress suits. This frequently makes for a waggely leg (a technical term?) in photographs. He needs to take a lesson from Felipe VI and his tailor, who is spot on every time regarding trouser length and lack of break, yet never erring too short. Frederick and pant length falls into the same category as QMax and hair or Sophie DoE and dress length. They do as they do and give us something to talk about. -J

Family time is a beautiful time.
I love seeing all these various first and second cousins and aunt coming together to spend some relaxing summer time together. It's really lovely to do this as a family. I wonder if P. Benedikte will join them for a few days later on.
Mary looks cool and summery, the babies are squish-a-licious (I made that up, lol), and Vincent and Josephine are into their teenage years in full stride.

Graasten Palace, which I have visited, is a spacious country house with a small swimming pool, nothing palatial at all. Despite these surroundings, I agree that the King of Denmark looks slightly sloppy and should do better, prince Gustav is an excellent example. This is not beach time.

Coralie, it isn't a "so called surrogacy". They WERE surrogacies. Isn't it more concerning that they were forbidden to marry due to clauses in his grandfather's will that included the religious affiliation, noble and Aryan requirements of future brides or be disinherited? Furthermore, isn't it distasteful that he had to fight in court because money-grubbing family members challenged his inheritance, claiming he was not qualified to inherit the family estate (on such disgusting grounds?) The two decade delay in their marriage, because of the way his future birthright was instructed in the will, destroyed their chance to have children by natural means. Does it mean they should be denied children? You say you "don't accept the exploitation of women and children", but I don't see who is being exploited here. Surrogate mothers do this by choice, to help families that cannot conceive by natural means. These children have no doubt been long overdue to their long-suffering parents. Frankly, I am more bothered by the fact that a Nazi-era will, full of prejudice, retained so much power so long after WWII ended. I hope feelings like yours are not what they have to deal with on a regular basis going forward. They have already lost twenty precious years they will never get back. They shouldn't have to give one more minute to anyone else's negativity regarding their lives. I can only wish them long lives and every happiness. They are blessed to have Frederik and Mary's support, and Benedikte as a grandmother.

    6. Surrogacy mothers don't do it "by choice". They do it because they need the money. What kind of pregnacy is this, not being allowed to develop a relationship to the child, because it is for sale. A human being is not a merchandise or a technical thing. You can't seperate the body from the mind and the soul.

Coralie, I feel so disappointed in your attitude. You may have a lack of knowledge and understanding about surrogacy, which I can respect. If we don't fully understand something, we can't support it. Surrogates are not selling THEIR babies for money. They are the incubator for an embryo, usually not genetically related to them, (sometimes they donate an egg.) When you say a surrogate does not carry a baby by choice, you are implying something I cannot write here. There are professional agencies, psychologists, lawyers, and doctors involved in surrogacy. It is very professional, and yes, a business transaction--especially on this level. It does benefit both sides. Of course there is a fee involved. Your argument of "what kind of pregnancy is this, not being allowed to develop a relationship to the child", falls on deaf ears. You are suggesting that unless a mother is physically pregnant with her own child, there can be no bond. It is a beautiful thing to carry a child of your own, but not all women can become pregnant, or carry a baby to term. Your theory suggests that children who are adopted can never bond with their parents, because they were not born naturally to their mother. By the same line of thinking, children could not have much of a bond with their fathers, biological or not, given the fact that they don't give birth to them. Of course, none of that is true. Coralie, I hope your attitude is due to a lack of information about surrogacy, and that you may open your mind a little. While not an option for everyone, in this case, it did help right a tremendous wrong, IMO.

Remember Queen Margrethe who said that her sons should look for wives outside of Denmark? She was almost proud and a bit arrogant about it at the time. Today no one speaks about that 'clause' anymore. The royals have had strange and sometimes inhumane rules in order to remain a special and privileged little group in the world.
