King Frederik X and Queen Mary of Denmark are making an official visit to Greenland. The royal couple is accompanied by their two youngest children, Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine. On July 4, 2024, the King and Queen arrived at the Colonial Harbor in the capital Nuuk aboard the Royal Yacht Dannebrog. The King and Queen were welcomed by Mayor Avaraaq Olsen. The King and Queen first visited Nuuk's new airport.

King Frederik X and Queen Mary then visited a workshop in Nuuk where work is being done on a memorial stone for the polar explorer Arnarulunnguaq. Arnarulunnguaq, a native Greenlander, was a key member of Knud Rasmussen's Fifth Thule Expedition, which crossed the Northwest Passage by dog sled.

I find it odd that royal children wear their parents' clothes - don't they have their own clothes? Doesn't Josephine own a sweater? Of course she does, so why isn't she wearing it? S.M.

,Because raiding you Mom or sisters closet is fun! Especially if mom is as classically stylish as Queen Mary!

Maybe they prefer to travel light. The coat she wore the other day belonged also to her mother. And they are aware of the impact of buying too many clothes on the climate (the textile industry being one of the most polluting industries on the planet). The Scandinavian countries were already aware of the negative problems caused by industries and started recycling and things like that before other European countries did.

    4. S.M. I assume you don't have children. Royal teenagers are just like everyone else their age who like their parents' clothes. When my daughter was a teenager, I had to book my own clothes to work for the next day in the evening so she didn't have time to wear them to school 😂. That can happen when we are the same size and have the same taste in clothes.
Mary's grey pants look good with that lovely coloured blouse. Father and son have the same warm anorak, great.

It's not odd at all. We all raided our mothers closets once. So do the younger generation of royals. It's great to see them being sustainable. Can we please stop complaining about everything.

When you have a classic style, some clothes might go in generations..this is such a low/middle class comment.

Unfortunately lately there has been a change in this forum, posters are becoming harsher, sounding more bitter and rude; this is supposed to be fun, just a peek into royal’s lives, the responses should not be a parade of judgements and nastiness, they are going to wear what they like, just enjoy.

Anon 13:30, you are correct. It has been getting worse over the last few years. It is a pity.

Regarding mother/daughter clothes sharing: I did it when I was growing up, and I hope I was stylish enough to have a daughter want to raid my closet, if I had had a daughter. It is a compliment. It is the most normal thing in the world. It is pathetic when your daughter wouldn't be caught dead in your clothes. That is when you have a problem. It probably means you have let yourself go, in one way or another.

Could it be she loves the color and bought it in a smaller size.🤔

What a nice thing to see father and same matching from head to toe. This was a long trip for the children. Noblesse obligated to serve. Nice look for Mary and Josephine. css

Does it matter who's clothes the Danish Royals wear? They are lucky to have lovely warm clothes to share around.

  5. Le rose de ce chemisier est très chic porté avec le gris du pantalon ; Josephine es trop mignonne dans le vert du pull torsadé prêté par sa maman !

    1. From what you're saying, there must have been a period when they didn't have a happy smile.
Can you give some information to explain the lack of smiles.
Can't think why. Must have missed something.

This couple is so in love since 25 years or more. Their marriage is sacred and they are always happy with each other so don’t you dare insinuate anything else. :-)

Queen Mary looks wonderful and I love her outfit. The pink blouse paired with the gray trousers is a classic look that Mary does so well. How cute and great that Josephine chose to "shop" in her mom's suitcase doing a rewear of Mary's beautiful pale green sweater. It looks wonderful on her. Meanwhile, King Frederik and Vincent look terrific twinning. This has been such a great visit for the DRF!

I see nothing wrong with a daughter sharing her mum's clothes while on a semi-vacation (for the kids). I think it's charming, and only proves again how down to earth this delightful family is.

  12. Some complain when they wear a designer brand like Ralph Lauren and that they are breaking the budget of Denmark ,heaven knows they are re-wearing or raiding their Mother or Father's closet to save money!

I’m impressed that anyone is so closely observant of the royals’ attire that they know when a princess has borrowed her mother’s garment. I couldn’t begin to remember all the many things that we’ve seen on Mary. As far as I knew, everything Josephine had on here was from her own closet. Lol. Amazing.

Anonymous at 13:20, you are right; I think that overreaction to others’ comments has become prevalent not just here, but everywhere on the internet. People seem to feel personally threatened by any opinion they do not share. Even the mildest of comments can often bring a harsh reaction from a someone who disagrees. It’s rather frightening.
