Zara Tindall has been a clearer winner this week. I think it shows when a stylist knows what suits you. This Rebecca Vallance beaded midi dress is absolutely stunning.
Sophie I feel really does needs a stylist. I think she sees an item and thinks it’ll look good(we’ve all done that!) but the reality is disappointing.
The amount of money spent on dresses that do absolutely nothing for her,is a shame.Tie waist does not suit her shape.Floor length gown shortens her.She used to be one of the best dressed attendees at Ascot.
Camilla at last in something summery. The emerald brooch is an eye opener, and looks breathtaking against the white of the dress.
Anne looks fetching in the grey and blue.
Sarah C sticking to her usual style.
    Lowri.

Best dressed was Queen Camilla and Zara Tindell. So far Zara is the big overall winner on the fashion front. Lovely to see Lady Sarah, but I really think that a little makeup can do a lot to emphasize her natural beauty.

Well Queen Camilla saved the best dress for Ladies Day. She looks really lovely in that new dress (and I rarely can say that of QC). The pleated skirt of the dress really suits her. No big shoulder pads this time. The belt in the same fabric as the dress is a good idea too. The too big flower on her hat is forgiven now that she did her very best to look lovely and elegant. Keep it up that way your majesty. I hope we will see you in the future in new dresses which have the same design as this one.

    1. I totally agree with you. A lovely dress, in a summery colour and fabric and just a little different from her usual style.
Princess Anne has also continued to improve from a fairly low starting point. And she's found the light coloured gloves at last!
I love to see Lady Sarah at events but, while the colour is great, it's not very summery. I like Duchess Sophie's hat but Zara Tindall is the winner for me once again

Zara has been a delight each day! I find myself looking forward to seeing what she is wearing not only at Ascot, but at all times. She has a fun, modern style that is refreshing in a rather conservative family. Camilla's dress is very attractive. As someone who finds the majority of her wardrobe lacking, this dress is very attractive. The self belt is a nice change from her usual style, and of course the color is quite nice on her. Sophie has been a horrible disappointment. I think it has reached the point that Sophie could ruin the nicest dress with the absurdly long skirt lengths alone. I can't imagine what she is thinking. While this dress is designed to be long, it is still out of place here. If she didn't wear e v e r y dress far too long, this one dress might make an interesting statement. Whether it is her idea of style or the notion of a stylist, which I find doubtful, it does not flatter her. It is as though she has given up and has decided that she is a woman of a certain age and she will forevermore dress in a matronly fashion. The older women in the family wear dresses of a normal length and look perfectly fine. Sophie stands out in an awkward way.

I suspect Sophie wears longer hemlines because she enjoys them and feels comfortable - that’s great isn’t it? (Why do any of us choose the clothes we do?!). She’s always super well presented and feminine. For this particular dress, I find it very romantic and flattering. Wearing long dresses can feel really lovely and this is not out of place at Ascot. - Grace.

I agree with you, Grace. Longer dresses are more comfortable to wear. I applaud D Sophie for doing her own thing.

I don't understand what it is with Duchess Sophie, but it is not possible that she does not see it herself. None of the other royal ladies has a dress that is as long as her's. Like I said before the "Suzannah" dresses are a big no and she should stay away from that brand. Her hat is beautiful.
Zara Tindall has a stylish dress too in a very beautiful blue color. I'd prefer it a little bit shorter. If there was a prize for the best dressed royal during the Ascot races, I fully agree it would be given to her.

I don't agree with you. Sophie looked absolutely outstanding in her dress. There is no reason why she shouldn't wear these dresses. That's my opinion as someone from another European country. Maybe you dislike it out of personal reasons?

      I love it!
      Over the top totally accepted!
Love all of Q.Cam.’s dresses so far and she saved the best for Ladies Day.
Sophie: such a beautifull face, coiffure and hat, and than the length of her dress spoils it all.
Zara: too hard trying, not in a style I like.
Princess Anne: looks quite sophisticated but refuses to join in the romantic style.

Zara looks fantastic; I love the color of her hat and dress and the neckline and sleeves of the dress. Camilla looks quite nice, and the emerald brooch she is wearing is gorgeous. Sarah Chatto’s hat looks oddly casual for this event. Her jewelry is lovely. Princess Anne’s coat reminds me of old lady sofa fabric, bless her. Sophie’s choice of a floor length dress is perplexing.

Paloma.

Its not that they are necessarily unattractive its just that they support designers rather than dress to enhance their best attributes. I sometimes think they are given the clothes. Have never liked the York family outfits, its only of late that Bea had changed her style a bit since married to an Italian

Zara is absolutely winning Ascot! I really like her fashion most of the time, but her outfits this week seem to have raised the bar even higher with great modern designs and perfect accessories.
This is the best outfit on the Queen this week. She looks great in white.
Sophie’s outfit is another disappointment. If the photos were in black and white, she could be from an era more than a century ago in these clothes. I think she is such a great representative for the royals but her style is very granny and takes away from her natural beauty.

  17. I really applaud them for carrying on they way they do - quietly and in a dignified manner. The king has cancer, both he and Camilla as well as Anne are well over seventy, the Wessexes aren't spring chickens, either, and the younger generation of working royals is more or less down to one at the moment: William. Kate is off sick, the York women are rearing families and probably don't want to be in the spotlight that much, and the Harry and Meghan are out, which must have been a bit of a blow.

Some of the reason there is so little working family is directly due to Charles. It is his choice to slim down the amount of working royals. Anne has said she does not agree with his decision, thinking there should be more working royals, but they carry on.

    2. Although they're not working royals, Zara and Mike Tindall have postphoned their depart for a life in Australia several times. The last comment I read from them is that they would spend 6 months in England and 6 months in Australia.

All the Ladies look great. Love Camillas dress and hat she wears white very well. Sophies dress is lovely but a bit too long. Zaras dress a very lovely color, but not a fan of the Imelda sleeves. Anne 's outfit a bit dated. Sarah Chatto's blue outfit is fine, but the hat is way too big I think. css

  19. Zara looks perfection. Love the blue dress, hat and her accessories. Her co ordination of her outfits is 100% divine! I love the styling of her hair with this hat, side on it looked amazing!
Camilla's dress, I love! The pleats, belt, the movement of the skirt as she walked. Thankfully no zipper dresser/coatdresses. The diamond and emerald brooch, sensational! (can't help myself) LOL!
The Princess Royal's 3 strand pearl necklace is beautiful, her pearl earrings are a good size and have a impact. Lovely pieces.
Lady Sarah, looks nice in this color blue. Wearing her mothers brooch and earrings, fabulous! I especially love the brooch.
I don't like Sophies outfit at all. So much fabric, and way too long, the dress is too much for her she looks overwhelmed in fabric.

Camilla's hat is far too theatrical! My goodness..the size of that flower, or whatever it is..
Really nice to see Lady Sarah Chatto, true to her style and especially her hat.
I don't care for any of the dresses except Camilla's; Sophie's is exceptionally awkward - too much fabric, too heavy looking even though it's a light fabric and far too long. She looks lost in it.

I’ve always seen Ascot and especially Ladies Day as a royal garden party that’s gone mad.
Or a fancy dress party in the open air.
The only serious thing is the horse racing.
The memo always says “fancy dress and fun”.

The ladies are all dressed lovely, except for the overly large flower on Cam's hat.
Sophie's longer dress pulls her look back in time to the days of old, however the hat should have been more old fashioned as well. Over-all she was lovely/handsome, as were all the gentlemen.

I can’t say any of the outfits are particularly good. Camilla is more of the same, big hats that don’t relate to the dress except for colour, shoulders padded and unflattering cuts. At least there are no boots today.

Sophie loves her Susannah dresses and most look good on her. This one isn’t, a shirt dress that long and in heavy materials is at best reasonable in fall/winter not summer. Not particularly keen on the print either.

I know everyone seems to like Zara’s dress, but even for Ascot it a little too much of a style mismatch. Huge puffy sleeves and shoulders plus a lot of details that contradict each other (delicate collar, chunky belt…). Colour is good and her milliner always does a good job matching her hats to her dresses.

Lady Sarah C is so refreshing in her unwavering ability to look elegant and stay (and look) humble. I admire her for that. She wins the day for me.
