On June 18, 2024, Queen Maxima of the Netherlands opened the renovated Museum Hindeloopen in Friesland. The museum, which has been housed in the former town hall of Hindeloopen since 1919, has been completely renovated and expanded with a visitor center. The Hindeloopen Museum (formerly the Hidde Nijland Museum) is a cultural history museum in the Dutch town of Hindeloopen, one of the eleven Frisian cities.
Queen Maxima is looking lovely in red today. She looks so happy lately, wonderful to see.

ReplyDeleteI love the shape and style of her dress, especially the draped neckline and hip gathers. Not everyone looks good with these kinds of detailing but she does. They accentuate her figure beautifully. In addition, the hat is perfect, and her radiant smile out-dazzles any need for jewellery.

ReplyDeleteI love the 4th picture where the folkloric group represent farmer's wives like they were dressed in the old days : wooden shoes, apron's almost until the ground, lace bonnets on their head. (The contrast with Queen Maxima's dress can't be bigger). The Frisian village Hindeloopen opened a new museum. The people who live here had a lot of contacts with the Nordic countries in the past. It shows in the decoration with painted flowers of wooden furniture, a technique that can be found in Scandinavia too. They developed also their own regional language.
