Queen Mary of Denmark received a new medal in a ceremony held at Frederik VIII's Palace at Amalienborg in Copenhagen. Queen Mary received the Greenland government's gold medal of merit Nersornaat. The medal is the self-government's most important recognition, and was presented to the Queen by the speaker of Greenland's parliament Inatsisartut, Mimi Karlsen.
Queen Mary of Denmark was deemed worthy of the medal because of her many years of work concerning the social conditions of children and young people in Greenland. Traditionally, the medal can be awarded in silver or gold. On one side, it shows a polar bear taken from Greenland's coat of arms, and on the other side, the Greenlandic inscription for "Greenland".
LUNATICA MILANO Jacquard Skirt
Another bulky skirt, this one looks well proportionate.
ReplyDeleteC'est drôle, les intérieurs de Mary (Danemark), Mett (Norvège) et Victoria (Suède) se ressemblent beaucoup. Style nordique doux très épuré.
ReplyDeleteIf we are to judge from what the royal ladies are wearing at the moment, it looks like very full skirts are going to be “in” for summer 2024.
ReplyDeleteNot the best thing to wear if you ride a bicycle but O.K. if you have a skirt guard (or dress guard) on your bicycle.

Has been in for awhile already.
DeleteBeautiful skirt and I like how she pared with a simple white shirt. This skirt can really be dressed up or down depending on choice of tops.
Paloma.
With my excuses to Helen, a bit out of context but still in the realm of fashion ……… on the 25th to the 27th June, Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako of Japan will be in England for a State Visit.
ReplyDeleteIt appears they will arrive a couple of days earlier to attend to things not related to the visit.
This is a visit that has been postponed since 2020 due to the Covid problem.
Paper and pencils to the ready and a drop or two of oil on your keyboard.
Sorry, back to Queen Mary and her well earned medal of merit.
Großartige Kombination aus maskuliner Bluse und Rock, gefällt mir wirklich gut und ist auch für Nichtroyals alltagstauglich.

The casual shirt does not go with the more formal skirt. Perhaps she chose the shirt, so the medal/pin would not ruin other fabrics/blouses.

Mary looks smart and elegant - as always.
ReplyDeleteBeside events like his own birthday or official State Visits the King does not appear - at so many occassions Mary appears alone ...
The question may be allowed: what the hell does Frederic do all day long??
@Anon 13:04 You seriously need to broaden your social media knowledge and check out his instagram, his X (formerly Twitter), as well as the Royal Danish Courts website and social media channels. Then you will see just 'what the hell does all day long' to use your depricating words. That's the simple reason why they don't appear together - so that they can cover more commitments and obligations and double their presence by appearing separately. He is busier than Mary on most days.
Delete- Anon 9:13
So, because he is not on this blog each time Mary does something, you think he does nothing? Try looking at some other sources, (you know, ones that are not fashion related) and maybe you will see some other things. Also, if you do not get out of your house one day, does that mean you do not do anything? Work many times takes place indors
DeleteIf we were to judge King Frederik’s duties and commitments from the number of times he appears on this blog, then, yes, you could say he does nothing. But I’m sure you’ve noted this is a blog for fashion, mainly women’s so it’s only normal that he is seldom seen here.
DeleteAs Anon 9:13 said “take a look at the Royal Danish Courts website”.
You do know this blog does not share events the men do solo? What media do you read? The king does not sit at home twinning his thumbs.
DeleteI love the pattern in Mary's skirt but I am wondering if the overall appearance of the outfit is a bit bland.
ReplyDeleteThe lace on Mary’s skirt is lovely.
ReplyDeleteI don´t like the combination of white and beige. I would have gone for contrasting top, like navy blue or olive green.
ReplyDeleteIt is fashion in Europe this summer to wear white and off-white and/or beige together.
DeleteIt is on trend outside of Europe as well.
DeleteMary est très élégante dans ce chemisier blanc associé à une jupe crême dont la forme devrait inspirer Victoria !
ReplyDeleteAlways elegant. Great smile. css
ReplyDeleteFull skirts must be in fashion. This skirt though is not quite so bad, it seems proportionate. The crisp white shirt I love.
