Last night Danish time, the 175th anniversary of the Constitution was marked at the Danish Embassy in Washington D.C. Prince Joachim and Princess Marie participated together with other employees from the embassy as well as representatives from, among others, Congress, the Pentagon and other embassies in the event. Constitution Day (Grundlovsdag) is observed in Denmark on 5 June. Following the Danish Constituent Assembly of 1848 and 1849, the first constitution was signed by King Frederick VII on 5 June 1849.
ZARA midi dress with golden applique
Quel plaisir de voir ce couple très charmant qui me manque beaucoup ; la princesse Marie est bien jolie dans ce modèle avec une applique comme une bretelle sur le côté droit !
ReplyDeleteIs the dress intended to look ill-fitting? Anyway it is always a pleasure to see Marie!
ReplyDeleteIt appears to be gathered only on the left side. Also, her hair is obscuring her left shoulder which would help with the visual.
DeleteI do not find the dresa to be ill-fitted but the shoes are off..
Paloma.
Lovely to see Princess Marie in a lovely dress that suits her very much. I'd prefer it a little shorter. On the picture of the model it is called a "midi" dress, but the hemline of this dress reach the ankles so it is longer than "midi". And no Coralie it is not ill-fitting. If you look at the last picture of the model the dress has a "drapery" on one of the side seams. Prince Joachim is looking very handsome in his uniform. His face is looking a lot like his mother's Queen Margrethe.
ReplyDeleteHigh street brand!
ReplyDeleteYes worn by Queen Letizia, CP Viktoria and a lot of other royal ladies.
DeleteThis dress doesn't look like it fits her correctly. Not a winner for me.
ReplyDeleteThis Zara dress looks really good. Love the shape and color. She looks beautiful.
ReplyDeleteWhat has she done to her face? Maybe it’s her makeup, very heavy and the eyebrows too thick. She always has a more delicate look, which I think it suits her better. The colour is lovely on her.
ReplyDeleteMaybe her make-up is a bit more pronounced this time, but it suits her and wearing a red dress with make-up that cannot be seen is not recommended either. I think she is not made up like that on a normal working day.
DeleteNice to see them out and about but sorry, for me, the dress is NO.
ReplyDeleteMaybe without the buckle style thing on the shoulder. I get vibes of a hiker’s backpack. And, I’m not a fan of one-shoulder dresses.
So back to my tea bags and cream biscuits.
You know, life’s a bit boring at times
p.s. We should get lots more photos if they visit Denmark for the summer months.
Marie is so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYes. The dress and questions about how well it fits are not important.
DeleteMarie is beautiful, the dress is not, sad to say. Usually she never makes a miss-step.

Haven’t these royals educated themselves that brands like Zara and H&M are the worst pollutants in the world of fashion industry. Even my 7 year old understands cheep fashion with buy and through isn’t good for our environment. Clothes will end up in landfills or burned. They should set an example. That’s their responsibilities. Buying fashionable fashion doesn’t have to cost the earth or your wallet. Look at Princess of Wales. She’s very good with buying M&S.
