King Frederik and Queen Mary, together with Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine, started the second day of their visit to Greenland with a boat trip at Qeqertarsuaq in Disko Bay. Afterwards, King Frederik and Queen Mary arrived by the Royal Yacht Dannebrog at the King's Bridge in Qeqertarsuaq, where they were welcomed by Mayor Ane Hansen and members of the municipal council. In Qeqertarsuaq, the King and Queen met with citizens on the town's football field. From the football field, the King also initiated the Qeqertarsuaq Race, Family Mile, which is a race for all the island's residents.

They are not having Icelandic sweaters but Greenlandic, and yes they are very beautiful. The royal family is in Greenland in the Arctic Circle. Greenland belongs to Denmark so they are visiting their own country and people. (Elina)

People don't realize the Danish royal family is staying in the arctic circle. Of course it is cold there.
Love their outfits. I just put my winter clothes definitely away until next Fall. But first I would like to have 2 months of summer and sunshine and maybe an Indian summer in September in exchange for spring I didn't had in my country this year.

I'm living above the Arctic circle, and we have summer with warm weather, so not all of Arctic is cold. Also Greenland can have 20-25°C in the summer.

Anon10:48. Is that so? Have you been appointed speaker of all Danes?Maybe the shirt you're probably refering to, came from his father's closet? Whenever the girls wear items from their mother's wardrobe, the Queen is getting critized for not buying them their own clothing. Would it make anybody happy if they bought their stuff from LIDL? They can't win, at least not with people like you.

I think they do not exaggerate. In the past I saw Princess Isabella with clothes of her mother. If I remember well, on the day of her confirmation she wore a white pant suit which belonged to her mother. The same for Princess Josephine she wore coats which belonged to her sister or her mother.
I thought it was just in Spain that the Royal family has to watch out with what they are buying.

Are you privy to the cost of their clothes, please do share with us.

    9. Anonymous1/7/24 15:31

Really? And why would the danes be angry? The family have their own money they can spend as they choose on themselves or their children. Is this not the same for all royal families to dress appropriately to visit.

    10. Anonymous1/7/24 16:30

I don’t think you are right that ALL danes are angry. A few are perhaps, but most of us don’t mind at all. We know that the two daughters borrow their mother’s clothes - why is it not a possibility that the boys do the same?

    12. The story of how expensive Prince Christian's graduation outfit had been is yet another sensationalised report of the press and some self-proclaimed "royal experts". Almost all European Royal Families (add that of Jordan to it as well) buy designer brands, have outfits custom made on occasion, and are expected to live up to a certain level of sophistication and style. While a "mix-and-match" (expensive mixed with cheaper labels) approach is certainly appreciated and oftentimes done by some of the royals (like CP Victoria wearing H&M, Princess of Wales wearing Zara), wearing designer brands still is not out of the ordinary in such circles. Queen Mary ever so often rewears, recycles, and repurposes her clothes, something she's really good at, so that one special day for Prince Christian wearing new designer pieces shall not weigh too heavily on the Danish taxpayers - I hope.

    13. Anonymous1/7/24 19:36

Yes, the royal family has its own money but doesn’t that money come from the Danish taxpayers? Not trying to start anything just curious…and if the Danes are fine with it then that’s their business?

Oh it's you again... don't speak for all the Danes, you are not even one of them. You can speak in your mother tongue, which is mine as well. Au revoir!

Well, I'm Danish, and I'm not offended. QM is very good at rewear and also reinvent/redesign older items of clothing. And she gives her daugthers access to her extensive wardrobe. We've seen that many times.
Tabloids like 'Billedbladet' and 'Ekstrabladet' took issue with Crown Prince Christian's 1500 Euro Prada shirt, 11.300 Euro Rolex watch, and 550 Euro Lanvin sneakers. And Princess Isabella wearing Dulong jewellery in excess of 3000 Euro.
And it is excessive, yes, but there are far more important issues to be mad about in the world we live in.

Clothes sharing is very common amongst the ladies of the royal families of Luxembourg, Belgium and Liechtenstein. It is nothing new. We've even seen in the past the men share ties.

We do the same in my family, buy high quality clothing that you can offord and share it with family members - this is a way to keep away of being sustainable in fashion. It is the same with jewelery

      My dear@ Anonymous at 10:48,
I work in Denmark and am based in the country for a part of the week.
I often like to spend my summer holiday in the Scandinavian countries as well.
I' ve never seen or heard of any Dane being angry or worried about the kids' expensive clothes , as you wrote.
You feign names and nationalities you know nothing about.
It has been clear to anybody for quite a long time now that you enjoy spending your time trolling and talking nonsense from some sort of lonely place you live in.
You may have access to the gutter press of course and you buy it all just because you do not seem to possess any valuable insight abilities and relevant opinions about life, people, clothing and any other topic whatsoever.
You just do not seem to have any grip on reality as such.
Many, many times have I highlighted your issues and you' re still here stirring the pot and cutting increasingly poor and hilarious figures.
Why don't you shut down your activity/ job as a troll once and for all?
Oh, don't call me aggressive, please!
Just look at how aggressive and senseless you sound in any of your pointless commentaries, no matter the language and the signature you use (if ever).

@Anonymous at 0;1:11 starring as Karen

      Please dear,
don't you think it's time to say goodbye everybody and be gone?
You are no Dane, come on.
You know nothing of the northernmost countries including Greenland either.
Please, spare me your usual fake comments in Danish or any other Scandinavian language you want to select on your trusted translator.
Your show at all times and in whatever language you like to express your platitudes must end here and now.
      Enough .
      Bye

DNC Victoria and H&M is not a good argument since most of her H&M outfits are bespoken. So not budget. She also own stock in that company. So that one is a little sensitive.

  13. I read that King Frederick's book "the Kings word" sold 25 books a minute when it first came so I am sure he got a big advance and royalties from the sale of the book. It has been said that he is very good at investing so I am sure he has no problem paying for his families needs and clothes in addition to the royal allowance they receive!

    1. The people of Greenland must be happy to see their new King and Queen paying them a visit. Fashion wise, warmth must be more important than style/trends. They must have a rugged life in playing their part in the Danish economy (fishing).
I read, perhaps Wikipedia, can’t remember, that they have one of the highest suicide rates in the world and a big problem with alcoholism.
Their tourism industry is growing but for the moment, it’s not on my “must-do’ list.
