Dutch King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima are making a working visit to the states of Georgia and New York. On the first day of their visit, the King and Queen received in the State Capitol in Atlanta by the Governor of Georgia, Brian Kemp and First Lady Marty Kemp. In the adjacent Ebenezer Baptist Church, where Dr. King preached, the King and Queen met with representatives of the church community and attended a seminar with young people led by Rev. Bronson Woods. In the afternoon, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima visited Patchwerk Recording Studios, a famous Atlanta studio where artists such as OutKast, 2Pac, Beyoncé and Madonna have recorded albums.

Another rewear; I feel the headpiece combines very well with the dress. As so very often, QM looks wonderful in red. Although it's a working visit, it can be considered to be a state visit.

Lovely. Atlanta is usually very HOT these days, so hopefully they're not too warm in the suits and such. Also, I think it would be more of an official visit vs. state visit, which typically entails meeting with the Head of State (President) at the White House and a very large, lavish format banquet with many celebrities and notables (and incredible fashion) from the visiting nation who live or work in the United States.

  7. Weather was pleasant, not hot at all. She is and looks fantastic! My daughter is right in front of her at the group picture. Queen Maxima really has a gift, with her energy and charme put us all at ease, she engaged with the kids, talked to my daughter. She accepted letters, drawings, my kids made origami figures, with grace. It was really special, make up, hair, jewelry, dress, everything was lovely!

So nice to hear from someone who actually had a real, personal, connection via your daughter, to one of the events we read on this blog. It makes these events seem so much more real for us, so thank you. And what a fun experience for your daughter.

  8. The Queen looks sensational. Beautiful shade of red. The dress is very feminine and elegant. Love the hat, her accessories, perfect choice. The diamond and pearl brooch is a lovely addition adding interest to the bodice. She looks majestic and regal.

I think it's a wonderful elegant dress, but again it lookes for me a bit overdressed for a day time visit to the gouverneur and esp for lading a wreath. For me it's more a cocktail dress

  13. Although it is a working visit (trade etc.) I hope there’ll be a dinner or something with a bit of glitz and glamour.
    Queen Max looks smashing.
    Nothing OTT ?????
Has Princess Beatrix had a little ‘chat’ with Max? 😕

I'll have to come back later. Hope you understand.
Oh, by the way, what would the dress code be for a glamour event like this?

Love Queen Maxima's dress and headpiece. She looks wonderful and very elegant. Mrs. Kemp looks great--I love her suit. As a native of Atlanta I am glad to the Dutch King and Queen visited our art museum to see the fabulous exhibition of Dutch treasures. Although the temperatures were in the high 80s today the humidity was low so the weather was beautiful--and we love our AC here. How wonderful they took time to visit the King Center--it is a terrific museum and I hope they enjoyed their visit.

This dress is a stunner. Red is her color. I really like this fascinator, better than a large hat. Also nice to see Gov Kemp looking good. css
