When does this woman sleep! She’s amazing. I like this outfit each time she wears it, but not a favorite. I appreciate the interesting cut of the skirt but again, not sure it’s exactly right. But I’d guess the long skirt and sleeves are a nod to the religious practices of their guests, so in that vein, it make sense.

Try as I might, the high/low hemline is not appealing to me. Lovely colour blue with the fabulous necklace is a nice look overall.

    1. Found in a fashion history book the information that the high-low hemline was first seen in the Victorian era.
It was called a “fishtail” hemline.

  4. What is Maxima wearing on her head? The Sheikha surely is a very beautiful woman, but this is not a good outfit for her. What a pity.

Totally overdressed and very outdated again. Lucy

Not overdressed, but I think she tried too hard not to be. I can understand Queen Maxima wished to take into account the cultural differences. Her hair is not very well done therefore she wore a hat to keep it in place. I don't like the uneven hem, but again I can understand she didn't wish to wear one of her gala dresses. It is a very delicate matter and the visit could be of high importance.

Paloma.

Love the soft blues here and they are beautiful on Queen Maxima! Do I like the outfit--no. The skirt is too long and I am not a fan of the high/low hemlines. I love the blouse but the tie is too low and looks odd as a result--I feel sure this was deliberate to show off the gorgeous necklace. Then there's the hat--sorry but it looks a bit too much like a head bandage and it is never going to be a favorite. Perhaps the long skirt is a nod to her guests culture but the low-cut blouse not--I think this is just a choice Maxima made and that's all. Cut off the skirt to more of a street length and remove some of the fullness and this would be a winner--even with the hat.

Too much jewelry and the skirt must be Natan because of the stiffness and shape, but the color is nice. Weird head piece.

Maxima, what a mess. From the hat, stringy hair, odd dress with high low hemline, and over kill on the jewelry and dated shoes.

Wat is dat toch met Maxima en die ‘mottige potsen’ ?! Geen beter woord voor die lelijke hoofddeksels die ze zo vaak draagt.

  16. This is a lovely outfit, very feminine. The color is sublime. Love the color of her shoes and clutch. The necklace and earrings are just beautiful.
