Denmark’s Crown Prince Christian has officially completed his secondary education, graduating from the Ordrup Gymnasium in Copenhagen. On June 28, 2024, Crown Prince Christian took part in a graduation parade this afternoon, as part of Danish tradition. Danish King Frederik, Queen Mary, Princess Isabella, Princess Josephine, and Prince Vincent were in attendance to celebrate this milestone with him. While no official announcements have been made, it's widely anticipated that Crown Prince Christian will continue his studies at university and, like his father, complete military training.
RALPH LAUREN Belted Stripe Linen Blend Blazer and Pants
Lovely family photos again but I'm afraid that this is a rare miss for Queen Mary. It may be Ralph Lauren but looks like pyjamas to me!
ReplyDeleteI completely agree.

Agree !!
DeleteSame!
DeleteYou may get that impression from the last picture, but not from the first ones. Anyway you cannot have an objective opinion from photos. You need to see the real thing.
DeleteAgree! Her outfit looks like comfortable pyjamas. And Fred looks like he just rolled out of bed…but congratulations to Christian!
DeleteIt doesn't even look good on the model. I mean, even if you take the pieces separately, they don't look good. ????
DeleteGood look on Queen Mary. The model not so much.
Delete@AnnieM 18:32
DeletePyjamas! don't agree.
But then anything from ‘Ralph Lauren’ gets a good note from me.
I see the style as updated “vintage”. No fluffs or frills, just good re-usable clothing. Timeless elegance.
But between you and me, a lot of my Ralph Lauren wardrobe
is “look-a-like”.
Well, you know, an average housewife like me usually has a modest bank account.😀
Love, love, loveee, Mary's outfit!!! First, I like how she continues the tradition to wear blue on big days for Chrstian (ex: Baptism, 18 birthday). Love that the outfit is a perfect combination of "professional" and "relaxed". It is simple enough to not stand out to much but also just enough of memorable considering it is a big day for her first born child
ReplyDeleteMy goodness...the children are growing up so quickly! They are all a very good looking bunch. All of them including their parents are a very united family.
ReplyDeleteI don't really like this outfit but Mary wears it well. The best photo of it is the one taken from behind, third photo from the last.

Mary looks like a prisoner!
ReplyDeleteLOL!!
DeleteIs your comment based on experience, maybe you have been to one?
DeleteAnon 06:25. High Five! My thoughts exactly.
DeleteAnon 30/6/24 06:25. I believe Anon 28/6/24 20:17 was referring to the outfit. To be quite honest, RL did a very bad design. Both Mary and model were looked like prisoners.... We are just being honest about the fashion choice.... I kinda wonder who chose this outfit for Mary.... Probably Mary herself.... If this was true, that's a very bad taste about the sense of fashion....
Delete@Anon 21:49 I think everyone knew what 20:17 was referring to. You are stating the obvious. What I would love to know is--Where do all of you who think this looks like prison wear get your knowledge of the prison system? With my limited information, I have never seen any prisoners in a two piece suit, one piece being a belted jacket with lapels. Please post links to support your claims. I am always willing to learn new things.
DeleteAnon 21.49, I really do understand what 20.17 was refering to therefore my comment. Thank you very much though 😊 - 06.25
DeleteWhile this is a private event for the King and Queen and their family, I would have preferred to have seen the Queen in a re-wear that flatters her more than this outfit. At least, she looks much better in it, than the model shows. Also I would have chosen a more classic handbag. Hers looks too much like a beach bag.
ReplyDeleteSidebar to the fashion, if I may?:
ReplyDeleteDoes any one know (or have links to pics) of Frederick and Joaquin's graduations? I'm just curious to know if Daisy and Henri showed up to theirs in a similar way. Compared to certain places here in the states, this seems much less formal. Here, getting and wearing your cap and gown is big deal and for a lot of schools, everyone dresses up more formally; the graduate, the parents, and the family members attending, etc. And usually the family members go beyond just siblings; grandparents, great-grandparents, cousins, etc., etc. Although, I often think all those people show up just as an excuse to attend the party and eating of food afterwards. ;D Thank you.

DeleteQueen Margrethe was photographed with Christian at Fredensborg that day when he got his cap and she was present today, when all his classmates came to Amalienborg.
Thanks a lot @Anon23:02
DeleteSuperb photo.

DeleteI'm afraid in Europe graduation from high school is less formal than in the states. In the majority of the countries, the students don't even have a cap. There are festivities in certain schools like parties for the students and their parents. The dress code in my grandson's school is not formal, but it is the custom that boys are wearing their first suit and girls are wearing a beautiful dress. I can imagine that there are parents who invite the rest of the family to a private dinner in a restaurant or give a dinner party at home. In the royal families these events take usually place in private.
From "28/6/24 20:51" Thank you all for your answers. :)
DeleteThe star is beautiful Josephine.
ReplyDeleteAnnieM : j'allais écrire exactement la même chose, style pyjama ! ;-)
ReplyDeleteEt son fils semble aussi sortir de son lit.
Joséphine porte un joli chemisier. Paloma.
Queens mothering: wonderful to see, they ARE just normal people :-) not going to judge on fashion, it's a private event. Happy and proud families are the best, whether they are royal or not.

Lovely children. For CP Christian fun is over, the hard work is starting. What will be next University or Military? The children's dress is spot on. Sorry but Q Mary's pantsuit looks like a PJ. She wore this one before. css
ReplyDeleteI will be in the minority. I love what Mary is wearing. I think she looks chic-mom. I would wear this in a heartbeat. Calling this outfit pajama-like or prison attire is a bit much. Did becoming the queen mean she has to give up being a person? I am not sure what is suddenly expected of her, but she is still just a regular person, a wife and a mother. Her job just got a glamorous promotion. She is still entitled to her own personal style. She dresses fashionably, and her wardrobe flatters her. Nothing she wears makes her look frumpy. I think this is yet another case of the commenters here getting stuck on the idea of what they think royalty 'should' wear, or how they 'should' look. Monarchies are becoming more modern and royals are becoming more approachable. I absolutely love that the family got to enjoy this moment with with the rest of the families instead of being segregated off to the side. They shouldn't be robbed of this moment because of who they are like other royal families.
ReplyDeleteThen I'm with you @anon 02:58! The Northern countries have the most modern and relaxed royalties. They want their children have a life as normal as possible and that's the greatest gift caring royal parents can give to their children. It gives also a good mental health.
DeleteAll the gradueted were also invited to the Amalienborg castle afterwards, that was surely a real highlight for the most Christian's classmates. By the way, I think the whole family looks good and happy.
It’s fine to like or not like their outfits. Some people get so defensive over those having a differing opinion from theirs. Not everyone has to agree!
DeleteIt has nothing to do with what I expect from her as a royal. I think this striped suit is ugly despite loving the colour blue. I would not wear it and not recommend it.
DeleteUgly..what a bad way to express oneself. Luckily no one here asked for your recommendations.
DeleteThe family that wears wrinkled clothes together, stays together? S.M.
ReplyDeleteTime will tell!
DeleteBy wrinkled, do you mean linen?
DeleteA big no for Q M dress!
ReplyDeleteShe usually gets it right but not this time in my opinion.
DeleteQuelle robe ???
DeleteHigh end sesigner or not what were they thinking?. This time around Mary's choice is off. Not flattering looks like pyjamas.
ReplyDeleteAgree…just because a garment is expensive and has a ‘famous’ designer name on it doesn’t mean it’s beautiful.
DeleteIt's easy för the securityguards when Q M have this dress! Nobody can miss her!
ReplyDeleteQ. Mary looks so happy. I'm happy for her. I think she's had a rough year. But really that suit needs to be revamped into something else. Not a good look.
ReplyDeleteShould have worn this suit without a vest underneath like Sienna Miller did.
ReplyDeleteMary looks fabulous (and linen looks like linen, which is an inherent part of the style) . And then, graduation is a family affair, not a royal one. They take part in this festive occasion with many other parents with youngsters in Christian's age. Nothing is more appropriate than an elegant but casual outfit that could be worn by any other mother who is present there. - Frederik, well, that's something very different ... he seems to mix up casual with ill-fitting, even if he chooses to wear a suit like here.
ReplyDeleteTheir youngest daughter has highlights in her hair! so young to start that.
ReplyDeleteEh…she’s just having fun!
DeleteIs this really all you can say about this beautiful girl…?
DeleteMaybe...maybe not? She has the same exact hair color as her twin brother's in the pictures.
DeleteI won't judge as a mom of teens myself. Kids these days are not easy to handle, especially the girls. Anyway if she had highlights, she surely can afford the least harmful ones.
MARIE
Dear Marie, if you are a mom of teenage kids, I wish you strength and courage. Try to keep smiling. 😁
DeleteIn only a short while they'll be adults and life will be "normal".
As teenagers my friends and I would use “Sun In” a rather nasty spray on hair bleaching product to add blonde highlights. It pretty much dried out our hair so I hope Josie has stayed away from that!
DeleteMary often seems confused as what to wear for what occasion.
ReplyDeleteAnon 20:20. Must be a different Mary then the one we get to see here.
DeleteAgree 20:20. Her hairdresser left. Maybe her stylist did too.
DeleteI must say, I’m not bowled over by her style either. It seems to me that she has taken it upon herself to dress like an upper middle class matron. No real individual style.
DeleteHave you visited your local high school lately? Have you seen how the typical 13yos are dressing and wearing their hair? Josephine is doing nothing out of the ordinary IF she is wearing highlites (or her brothers, for that matter). It's fun, contemporary and completely normal for young girls her age today to this - and more. I think it's very positive that she is participating in everyday society of her age, and that her parents are not restricting her nor any of her siblings to arcane mind-sets.
ReplyDelete- Anon 9:13
I fully agree! In other words, Frederik and Mary are in touch with their kids and their peers. Josephine's hair is even a normal hair color, not a color that would surely melt down this blog. If they want their kids to play a role in the future and not end up resenting their royal status, they had better let them live their lives like normal kids as much as possible.
Delete@ Anonymous 29/6 22:18
Delete"like normal kids" but they are normal kids.
Sometimes I'm having the impression that royal kids (in certain countries) are allowed more than civilians of the same age category. There are countries where local high schools are much more severe than in other countries. In my country there are lot of immigrants of other cultures than ours. These children sometimes cannot do what other students of the same age do, simply because the parents don't allow it or because they have not the money to buy it. There the school can play an important role.
There are also royals who does not want their young teen-age children to dress or doing their hair like adults, but I can understand that it becomes more and more difficult for any parent to prepare their children to an uncertain future in this changing world.
I like Mary's outfit, love the color. Josephine is going to be very beautiful.
ReplyDeleteCrown Prince Christian looks like a cartoon figure.....
ReplyDeleteJealous much? If he did, the other graduates would do too. To me, they look like a bunch of happy young people, ready for the next step in their lifes.
DeleteA cartoon figure? He is a beautiful young man, whose future is brighter than spitting some jealousy anonymously on line.
