On June 21, 2024, King Charles III and Queen Camilla attended the fourth day of Royal Ascot 2024 at Ascot Racecourse in Ascot. Princess Beatrice of York and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, Lord Frederick Windsor and his wife Lady Sophie Windsor, and Peter Phillips and his girlfriend Harriet Sperling accompanied the King and Queen.
Emilia Wickstead Brita Green Festive Bouquet Taffeta Faille Dress
ReplyDeleteQueen Camilla and Lady Sophie was my winners on the fashion front.

ReplyDeletePrincess Beatrice is so unbelivably beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteOh please lets not go overboard. She is wearing a nice dress and love the yellow shoes and hat as contrast.
DeleteAgree, Princess Bea is no duckling anymore but the stunner of the BRF.
DeleteFor the first time I like all the dresses and all the hats we can see face on.
ReplyDeleteThe Queens ruffled edging is a step out of the box, but the colour is so pretty, and her hat soft and pillowy. If it was the size of a mattress, I'd want to jump on it, lol. I love Beatrice's green floral dress, and Sophie Winkleman's coat dress is so cleverly cut, especially the interesting neckline. A good day at the races, for sure.

The Emilia Wickstead dress is very beautiful. Florals, or at least foliage but not the over sweet pastel sort we have seen so much of this summer.. Nice shape and suits P Beatrice very well.
ReplyDeleteIt’s lovely to see Camilla wearing the Jardine Star brooch. Her hat is too large and feathery for my taste. I also do not care for the size, shape, or feathers of Lady Frederick’s hat and do not care for her outfit overall - it looks too harsh to me with the high contrast colors and sharp angles. Beatrice looks very nice, although I think I preferred her softer pink florals dress from earlier in the week.

QC in blue again. I think she wore 3 or 4 different tones of blue during the past week. The dress she is wearing today is again the same old basic dress with shoulder pads like in a jacket, a zipper (or buttons) in the front probably and again a big hat with big decorations (feathers). I would like to see her in an other color of that elegant white dress she wore yesterday and in a smaller hat for a change.
ReplyDeleteBeatrice : she has the same type of dress in so many colors already that it is becoming boring. The yellow accessories don't match the dress. Only white or accessories in the same green as the leaves in the pattern would have been elegant. The dress is too long too.
About the men : I prefer the light grey vest of Peter Phillips and the darker grey vest of Sir Frederick Windsor to the light blue, pink and yellow vests of the other royal men.
In fact why do we still bother to give comments on this masquerade ? Other royals in this modern world do not have the time to take part in a silly occupation. Horse races take place in a lot of countries but the public is dressed normally in up to date outfits.
Accessories do not have to be matchy-matchy with an outfit. They can contrast to bring interest to an outfit. Beatrice would look boring with white (gag!) or green shoes and bag. Bringing in a color like yellow, that coordinates well with green, takes this dress to the next level. It shows that she understands fashion and she is comfortable taking risks. Good for her!
DeleteI fully expected comments about Beatrice's accessories and the pastel color waistcoats of the gentlemen the moment I saw the pictures. This is a very predictable group. You ask why we still bother to give comment on "this masquerade", yet your comments were extensive.
Bea's dress is not that good, nor are the hat/shoes/bag. Her low pony tail, too casual/messy looking. Cam's outfit has frills, that looked like rumpled material on the top, the hat is too fussy with the feathers, nice brooch.

I like all their outfits but I like Peter Phillips' friend's dress the best. I'm a sucker for soft pink and she really looks pulled together!!
ReplyDeleteThe ladies look lovely. Beatrice's green dress to complement her red hair is pretty. It is good to see Charles looking so well when he is undergoing cancer treatment. Christine
ReplyDeleteOh boy, after so many good days of fashion, there’s only one good comment for this round….Peter’s girlfriend looks great!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful dress Beatrice is wearing, her husband is nice to look as well. I like the color of Lady Windsor lovely shade of blue and white, not a fan of her or Camillas hat. css
ReplyDeleteThe outline, fit and cut of Beatrice's dress I like, but the fabric pattern I dislike. The dress is a good length. Her accessory color, I am not a fan of.
ReplyDeleteCamilla looks nice, the pattern thingy of her bodice I dislike, I don't mind her hat at all. Her brooch on the other hand is gorgeous, lovely to see her wear this piece, the beautiful Jardine brooch. Lady Frederic, looks nice, her pearls are a lovely a decent size of substance. One slight quibble, I like the coat to be the same length as her dress underneath.
Paloma.
King Charles in a PINK waistcoat with a babyblue tie, wonderful.🤪
ReplyDeleteDear No Name 16:39, Why do you bother to write at all? A masquerade with dated outfits? As opposed to you, most of us here do care about tradition and enjoy sending respectful contributions. I suggest you spread your silly disdain on a different platform but not here..

@ One cannot live from traditions alone. Life is more than that also for the royals.
DeleteFor me none of Camilla’s outfits have showed any sense of style. Hats are disproportionately large, dresses variations on the same boring, shoulder-padded and ill fitting theme.
ReplyDeleteThe print on Bea’s Wicksted dress is nothing to write home about. In fact it’s a little ugly. The cut of the dress is good, but her earlier outfits were better.
Lady Frederick looks dresses more for a baptism or a royal event than Ascot in her coat dress. Also the hat doesn’t match the angular colour blocking of the coat. Disappointing.
Peter’s new girlfriend (who wants to bet how long this one would last? I am giving her two years) looks well put together. Rather pricey dress for an NHS nurse, but probably she gets some supplemental benefits from her new relationship. Best outfit of the group today.

Bea’s dress, fits her nicely, but the print is a bit too much like the ‘50’s grandmas curtain for me. As far as QC, she is wearing her ‘uniform’ as did QE with her coat and dress ensembles. There is enough change in the shades of blue, ruffles on the sleeves, different trims to capture interest while remaining comfortable and well fitted. As far as the vests for the men, they pull them out of the closet once a year for this event.
