King Abdullah and Queen Rania of Jordan paid a working visit to France. On June 24, 2024, King Abdullah and Queen Rania were received by French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte Macron at the Elysee Palace in Paris, France. During a meeting at the Elysee Palace, the two leaders King Abdullah and French President renewed their call on the international community to increase the flow of humanitarian aid to Gaza.

Why does she not have a hijab?
ReplyDeleteBecause she’s a free woman and she chooses not to wear one.
DeleteLovely shade of green. But I wish she forgot the scarf around her neck in Aman
ReplyDeleteLovely dress for fall. Nice summery dress would have been better ! Enjoy summer !
DeleteI agree. It's a nice dress but would be better without the scarf and would seem more suitable for the fall/early winter.
DeleteThis shade of green is popping up alot lately, P Bea, P Alexandria of Luxembourg, now the Queen of Jordan. Personally I really like this dark rich the colour, but not sure for summer. Love the cut of her dress.
ReplyDeleteShe is just so beautiful and this dress is so pretty!! She has the most beautiful hair and eyes.
ReplyDeleteI love Rania's green dress - the colour, the subtle fabric print and the style and cut of the dress is beautiful...though I wonder why she chose to wear a scarf? I think I'd have liked it more without.
ReplyDeleteMadame Macron looks as chic as ever in her signature white. Now here's a lady who can wear a skirt above her knees, even past a certain age.
Bravissima to both ladies.

When you’re a 71 year old woman, it’s better to stop trying to dress ‘young’, just go for elegance.
DeleteOh! good morning Madame Macron
Agree completely to anon 9.13! And not to deadeggs, just forget these "wear this, when you are young and don't wear that, when you get older" quotes. I want to have (fashion) fun, when i am older...
DeleteI agree with @deadeggs.

Why not looking for the most elegant solution. A skirt that has his hemline just on the knees can be as sexy as one that ends above the knees. All depend on the wearer of the skirt or dress. What I noticed (depending on the light) is that Mme Macron often wear rather thick tights. Maybe she needs to wear special tights to support her legs. In that case I would not wear my skirts, dresses or coats too short.
DeleteSkirt and jacket of Mme Macron are in perfect proportion in fashiontheory (LV again?). You can see, that she works with the best designers. anna e.
DeleteQueen Rania’s dress does not need the long tie around the neck. Otherwise very pretty.
ReplyDeleteMrs Cleaver
J'aime bien le tailleur de Mme Macron mais pas du tout la robe de Rania, vraiment pas du tout ! Ni la couleur, ni le motif, ni la forme. Paloma.
ReplyDeleteI love Queen Rania.
ReplyDeleteOh my. I love this dress. I want this dress. The color is great on Q Rania but the tied sash around her neck is unnecessary.
ReplyDeleteThe Queen is ageless and she looks phenomenal is this beautiful green dress. Not a fan of the white shoes, especially with the dark colors and fabric of the dress.
ReplyDeleteI was just wondering… why a pair of white stilettos? I’d rather wear dark green. Bag/shoes matching is no longer fashionable, I know! She’s matching Mrs Macron: a subtle political message of alliance?
ReplyDeletePaola
I agree with you about the white shoes Paola. To me they almost ruin the outfit.
DeleteI would have worn green or black shoes and gone without the neck tie.
Wish Queen Rania had not decided to wear the neck so closed up--she looks like she is wearing a winter muffler type of scarf. But, I like the dress and I love the green. Mme. Macron looks very elegant.
ReplyDeleteJanet
QR: dress is not my cup of tea but she’s the one wearing it. I think the scarf on the neck detracts from clean lines . Shoes should have been black. ( white shoes have to be well thought) . Lovely handbag. Anyone knows the brand?
ReplyDeleteTrès jolie cette couleur verte mais je ne suis pas d'accord pour voir celle de son sac à mains ; madame Macron serait plus élégante avec une longueur arrivant aux genoux !
ReplyDeleteFor me the winner is Brigitte Macron
ReplyDeleteIt appears it was a visit for lunch and “business” talk.
ReplyDeleteSo no photos of gala dinners etc.
Pity.
I realise that when you are 71 and have a husband in this elevated position who is so much younger, life is not easy, but I think Madame Macron is concentrating too hard on being young rather than looking outstanding. The Parisian fashion world offers so many possibilities, whatever one‘s age, and Madame Macron is beginning to look somewhat silly, sorry.

I believe in dressing the body you have, not dressing for your age--within reason. We all know women that don't look their age, whether they look older or younger than their actual age. There aren't set rules about skirt length so much as using common sense. Brigitte Macron has great legs, looks younger than the average 71 year old woman, and looks fantastic in a shorter skirt. (I also think the skirt looks shorter depending on the angle the picture is taken.) I don't know the age of Mme. Macron's suit, so this could be a case of rewearing an older outfit, not purposefully buying clothes to look younger. We have seen royal ladies do the same thing. Maxima and Mathilde are two that come to mind. My frustration with Sophie is in the reverse. She has nice legs and is so lovely, but the last few years she has let her dress and skirt lengths get longer and longer. I understand she may have some reason that I can't understand, but it doesn't make her look her best. Her choices, which are new purchases, only serve to age her.
DeleteVirginia, I agree with you on Mrs Macron's skirt lengths but for me it is not about her age, rather her station as a president's wife and First Lady of France. Her skirt is the same length as girls' highschool uniform (i.e, not more than 4 fingers above the knee). I find knees and to be and back of knees to be intimate areas so I wish she would wear her skirts at least just below the knee. But from what we have seen, and because her legs are assets, I don't see her doing that.

Normally I don't like shirt dresses, but this one is looking good. Dark green is a fashion color this Summer. I can imagine she is buying a lot of her clothes and accessories in Paris. We are used to see Brigitte Macron in short skirts, dresses and coats. This time however I think she should have made her skirt a tad longer so that the hemline falls just upon her knees or just under her knees.
ReplyDeleteWhen she first became "wife of the President, (7 years ago) her skirts were even a wee bit shorter than what we see today.
DeleteDear No Name 20:31, I disagree, Duchess Sophie strikes me as a very natural lady with a disarming approach to fashion and I cannot detect anything aging in her appearance, whatever the length of her garments. In fact her lack of vanity is a great asset, very refreshing.
ReplyDelete🌞 Virginia
The thing with Duchess Sophie is that the proportions are not right.
DeleteWhen we look at her pictures on this blog her dresses are always longer than on the model. One must not forget that these models are all taller than the average woman. Very exceptionally Duchess Sophie is wearing a dress with a good length (just under the knee i.e.) and automatically she looks so much better, more elegant too.
What a different style of both ladies. Brigitte Macron classic French, the skirt may be a little too short for a woman of her age. Rania in a simple shirtdress in a strong color. Both look spot on. css
ReplyDeleteDear T, Regarding Madame Macron, you have made a good point, she is the First Lady of France and in this capacity we expect a certain sartorial decorum. Actually this is what Deadeggs hinted at and what I felt and did not express. Sexy legs but let us keep it private.
ReplyDelete🌞 Virginia
The color of this dress is gorgeous. The design is good, and fit is perfect. The bag is a beautiful color, love the contrasting color of her shoes.
