On June 22, 2024, Japanese Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako left Tokyo's Haneda Airport for an official visit to Britain. The Emperor and Empress were scheduled to visit Britain in 2020 at the invitation of Queen Elizabeth II, but the plan was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Japanese Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako attended the state funeral for Queen Elizabeth II in 2022. They received a renewed invitation to visit Britain from King Charles III earlier this year.
During the weeklong tour, Japanese Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako will attend a luncheon with the royal family and a state banquet hosted by King Charles and Queen Camilla at Buckingham Palace on Tuesday. Among other scheduled official events are a visit to the grave of the Unknown Warrior in Westminster Abbey, also on Tuesday, and a formal dinner at the Guildhall in the City of London on Wednesday.
J'ai hâte de les voir arrivés au Royaumes-Uni ; peut-être que le couple impérial va nous étonner surtout Masako en portant des tenues changeant du style auquel nous avons été habitués jusqu'à présent !
ReplyDeleteHM looks beautiful in that color.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing what delights the state dinner serves up.

The Empress Masako's outfit (colour/fit/style) is beautiful as is she! The Emperor Naruhito is handsome, suit fits well.

Love this blue suit on the empress. It is so balanced just using two colours. The purse and leather gloves add a touch of class to the overall look.
ReplyDeleteThe Empress has overcome so much, the Emperor must be so very proud of her. I really hope she will wear a kimono at the state banquet… she always looks so stunning when wearing one. LRB
ReplyDeleteVery nice outfit and color suit the Empress is wearing. Hope we'll get lots of pictures of the State visit. css
ReplyDeleteThe powder blue outfit looks beautiful. I like the white piping around the collar. The clutch is a gorgeous color and blends in well. The overall look is very elegant.
ReplyDeleteI hope the Princess of Wales is well enough to meet them. I want to see Empress Masako and the Princess of Wales together in a pic.
ReplyDeleteOnce they will arrive in the UK, we will be able to compare which royal lady will be dressed more traditionally : QC or IM.
ReplyDeleteEmpress Masako is the jewel of Japan which some Japanese are not aware of. She is elegant inside and out. Which royal is a highly educated as she is.

ReplyDeleteEmpress Masako is wearing the wrong shoes. Her feet are already swollen in these shoes which looks too tight for her. Clicq on pict. N° 3.
ReplyDeleteI love the blue suit on the Empress. Also, it's good to see Princess Kiko looking well after her health issues.
ReplyDeleteThey’re a very attractive couple. Quite a beautiful dress and hat she is wearing, and he’s very handsome in his “elegant” suit. They’re representing Japan quite nicely!
ReplyDeleteDid they not land in England yet?
ReplyDeleteThey landed on Saturday or Sunday, but their State visit only begins from Tuesday. Before that they are attending to private business in the UK.

Nice ensembles on the ladies. In the first photo it looks like the Emperor has two pairs of hands, what's up with the photo? Christine
