On June 24, 2024, Crown Prince Christian of Denmark graduated from Ordrup Gymnasium in Gentofte. The Danish Royal family, that is, King Frederik, Queen Mary, Crown Prince Christian, Princess Isabella, Prince Vincent, and Princess Josephine, gathered outside Ordrup Gymnasium in Gentofte for the occasion. The family marked the special moment by posing for photos together outside the school and speaking to local media.

Crown Prince Christian donned a studenterhue - a traditional cap worn by Danish graduates on the last day of school. It is likely that the Crown Prince will now attend university in the autumn and complete his military training, following in his father's footsteps. The school from which Christian graduated was founded in 1873 by HC Frederiksen (called Friser), who wanted to move away from the traditional teaching methods of his time.

  1. Goodness me, how Princess Josephine has grown. She looks fractionally taller than Princess Isabella. Lovely photos of a proud family.

I was thinking the same thing! I'm was thinking, "Is Izzy shrinking?!" LOL.

Lovely candid family photos of them leaving. Nice family.

Truly love these photos. Here, they're just a family enjoying and supporting the successful high school graduation of one of the children, like millions of families around the world are doing right now. Congratulations to Christian and his support system of family and friends who have got him to this point. (And as an aside, they're all dressed simply and tastefully.)

    1. I thought the same thing Tara.
Would be good for Christian to see where the maternal side of the family come from and understand a different way of life.
Would do only but good for a future king of Denmark.

    2. Hi Deadeggs and Tara.
Christian would be made to feel most welcome in my Homeland.
If my memory serves me correctly his uncle worked in the Outback about 30 years and his cousin has been studying in Sydney.

@Tara and deadeggs. I respectfully disagree. His "maternal side of the family" is of scottish descent. Mr. Donaldson, his Grandfather, emigrated to Tasmania, Australia, in 1963 with his wife and other family members. He still holds double citizenship. Remember the kilt he wore at his daughter's wedding to honor his ancestry? Christian will most certainly study abroad for a while, but his education should mainly be in the country where he will be king one day. He will make friends and a network at university and studying in Denmark will be more beneficial for him, in my opinion. I'm sure his parents will guide him well in these matters, so no worry for us. Daria.

I'm happy to agree to disagree with you. Maybe @Tara also.

      @Daria
I only partly agree with you. After high school King Philippe of Belgium went to the Royal Military School in Belgium because this is tradition in the Belgian Royal House. After that he went to Stanford university in California and finished his studies there. He is a good king, probably the best we ever had. His daughter CP Elisabeth finished high school at the Atlantic College in Wales, went to Royal Military School like her dad and then went to Oxford university in the UK. She will leave for Harvard University at end of August where she probably will finish her studies. Will she not be a good queen because she studied abroad ? I don't think so. The reason why she cannot study on one of the multiple universities in Belgium is simple. It has everything to do with politics. If she should have start at a Dutch speaking university, the French speaking community in Belgium would not be pleased and vice versa. If she should have start at a catholic university the non catholics would not be pleased and vice versa. That is a problem that does not exist in many countries. Lucky for her she is an intelligent and a smart young lady, who is not afraid to represent her father already if necessary. She will be a great queen one day.
But like you say it is not of our concern. Every country has to take into account different situations. What is good for a CP of country X might not be good for a CP of country Y.

deadeggs. Maybe, in order to see where the maternal branch of his family comes from, he should consider to study at the University of St. Andrews, Scotland. After all, another heir found himself the perfect future Queen there, so who knows? Just kidding. He will get the perfect education according to his status and interests, where ever that might be, his parents will see to that. Maybe he's taking a gap year first and then do his military training before he starts studying. Right now, he's probably celebrating his "freedom" and I wish him the best summer to be had.

@Anon 17:15.Thank you for your thoughtful and enlightening comment. First of all, congratulations on your king and crown-princess, an exceptional young lady in my opinion. She'll do your country and her parents proud and will be a wonderful queen one day. Like you said, those heirs face different demands according to their country's circumstances. Not an easy task and all in the public eye. I trust, they have been guided well and prepared for their role. We can only wish them luck.

Congratulations to CP Christian upon achieving this milestone! The royal family looks wonderful. Queen Mary looks radiant--you can tell the King and Queen are very proud parents today. As for the fashion: I love Mary's whole look. Isabella and Josephine are wearing perfect outfits for the teen girls they are. I particularly like Josephine's outfit.

    1. Now @ Lot, I can give you the answer.
As Queen Mary is a real mother hen with her kids, she probably got up early and cut some sandwiches and has them in her “big bag” in case one of her little chickens gets hungry.
Being a Queen doesn’t exempt you from your mothering responsibilities you know. 😀

    6. Wait a minute please, I’d bet my last buck that they’re sandwiches in her bag. It appears to be very royal to have a sandwich in your handbag 😀
Remember how Queen ElizabethII always carried a marmalade sandwich in her handbag. See video with Paddington Bear.

What I liked best was the royal couple with their spontaneous arms around each other, much more refreshing than the studied hand holding of many royal and political couples.

Lovely family and I like the subtle colour coordination that's going on. Very appropriate for the occasion. Had to giggle a bit about Isabella's outfit - it reminds me of my late 00s wardrobe and it's funny to see fashion cycles repeating.

Christian obviously took so much after Mary, but his height, built, poise and mannerism reminds me so much of his late grandfather, Prince Henrik.
This family is so loving, relax and natural with each other. And the graduate boy is already at ease, and so diplomatic. This is a fashion blog so we all tend to stick up with looks, but he was asked by the journalists about his grades. He answered that for him, as well as his peers, graduation matters the most whatever the grades. Speaking of which, he managed to secure a 10 (US equivalent of A-) by the way (12 is the maximum). No wonder how proud of him his parents must be. Yes, I hope he won't slack off with his academics, because Danemark surely have an intelligent young Crown Prince in him.
