On June 19, 2024, Queen Camilla, the Prince of Wales, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, Princess Anne, the Duchess of York, Princess Beatrice, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, Princess Eugenie, Jack Brooksbank, and Zara and Mike Tindall attended the second day of Royal Ascot 2024, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.

Princess Beatrice is the star for me today, followed by Zara Tindall. looking spectacular once again. Their dresses and their hats were both the best on show. I liked the top of Duchess Sophie's outfit, very My Fair Lady, but not so keen on the longer overlay with shorter skirt. Queen Camilla looks good once more, but again the darker colour seems less summery that most other outfits. Thankfully Princess Anne was a lot better and the Duchess of Glouceser looked good too.
ReplyDeleteIt's interesting to see Eugenie wearing the same lovely hat (albeit in a different colour) as Greek Princess Nina wore on Day 1. She looks good in it, and to me, she, Beatrice and Zara are the best dressed today. I also like the turquoise hat of the lady riding with Camilla in the first photo.
ReplyDeleteAlso nice to see Kate's mother there as well, and the affection between cousins William and Zara. The older senior Royals are more.. 'heavily' dressed, which would not be my preference, and I truly don't like Sophie's outfit, wedding Anniversary or not. The overlay is way too long, and that's just for starters.

I love Beatrice’s and Zara’s beautiful floral dresses. The details on the sleeves of Zara’s dress are especially nice. Beatrice’s dress appears to be the same as Sophie’s dress at the Order of the Garter the other day. Princess Anne looks quite good here with her blue and white outfit and crisp collar. The brooch Camilla is wearing is gorgeous, but I think it would look better against a different color than this shade of blue. The tassel on Eugenie’s hat is odd; it reminds me of a graduation cap. Sophie’s dress today looks a bit overpowering on her. Maybe if the floral layer ended with the underskirt it would look better. I have noticed that the Suzannah brand she seems to favor often is not my favorite on her.

Zara & Beatrice both look fantastic. Love their beautiful floral dresses that are at their best on a sunny day. Just wonderful!
ReplyDeleteSophie - Why, why, why the endless long dresses? Ankle length plus long sleeves plus a mock turtleneck is just so aging, despite the sheerness of the overlay. She can do so much better.
I like Zara's dress and style;also the wedding style dress of Sophie remembering it was her wedding anniversary.Ann looks good the colour suits her. Carole Middletons dress is nice;the hat looks frumpy;as does her hair style;she needs it cut into a nice short style. Most of the hats are pretty and colourful.William is looking a bit stressed good that Zara is there also his other cousins (Tara)
ReplyDeleteIs that the Princess of Wales’ mother in the 6th photo?
ReplyDeleteEveryone looks lovely.
T
Yes . That is the Princess of Wales mother indeed .
DeleteEveryone looks beautiful. Sofie’s dress, I love the pattern/flowers, but would look much better if the “netting “ had stopped at the hem of the dress.
ReplyDeleteThey have become more open since the Queen died. I’ve never seen them holding hands even though it’s a lovely gesture. Hope to see more of it with William and Kate.
Festivity all around!
ReplyDeleteThe Queen wears a lovely dress!
Sophie on her wedding anniversary in a wedding dress: nice but far too long; Eugenie thought she was going to Wimbledon and Zara the winner,
Probably a good thing that Beatrice and Sophie didn't wear the lovely Zimmerman dress to the same event.
ReplyDeleteZara looks gorgeous but imho Eugenie' s dress is a bit too casual for Royal Ascot.
Sophie's dress is lovely but I agree that on this occasion her hem length is definitely too long.
I love love love this! So many beautiful dresses, hats etc, so many n of you are more elocuent than I am, so I let you to write the comments on fashion.
ReplyDeleteWhat I do want to say is that the love and warmth between the members of the royal family is so palpable, is really sweet to see.
For instance the photo with Zara and William, not a "nice picture" per se, but so tender.
Or Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh holding hands.
And it also seems that they are having fun!

I agree! No matter the fashion; happy pictures are always the best pictures.
DeleteI really like all the dresses. Favourites are Camilla, Zara and Beatrice. But the all look great.

Love P. Beatrice's dress, so pretty. I read somewhere that it's the same dress D. Sophie wore to the Garter ceremony but she kept the jeweled belt. It's just so pretty. And it look almost identical to Zara's dress, so I like that one too. D. of York, Sarah looks very nice too.
ReplyDeletewho is the lady with the battered blue hat sitting next to Camilla?
ReplyDeleteI believe that is the Countess of Halifax.

Je pense que ce chapeau bleu turquoise a été attaqué par un chat ! :D

Again I think Zara won the day, followed closely by Beatrice. Both beautiful summery dresses, with equally pretty head pieces.
ReplyDeletePrincess Anne & Sarah seemed to have twinned in their choices.
Eugenie I’m not sure this style suits her.I think an A-Line would look far better on her.
Carole M looked lovely in her Self Portrait dress and fascinator.
I was excited to see Sophie’s dress, until I saw the full length of the dress. I don’t know if she was going for a bridal look in keeping with her celebrating her silver anniversary, but it was disappointing. The extra length just spoilt the whole look.
Camilla again seemed dressed for Fall/Winter in her choice of style and color.
I believe the lady sat next to her,is also called Camilla and they were at one time married to the Parker Bowles brothers. Now she’s the Countess of Halifax.I loved her hat!
Looking forward to day 3 of Ascot!
Lowri.
These hats 🤦♀️🤦♂️🤦
ReplyDeleteWhat else do you expect for Royal Ascot? My total favourite is the hat worn by the Duchess of Gloucester, which has an open crown that is, however, covered by netting. Followed by Zara Tindall's hat. My least favourite sadly is the whole outfit of the lovely Silver Bride Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh. I am not sure what sort of statement she wanted to make with her look. Everyone else just looked splendid.
DeleteI don't care if it's the Royal Ascot I find these hats ridiculous at any event, every time and whoever wears them. My opinion.
DeleteZara wins the 🥇price today!

Camilla's hat has the same shape as the one she wore yesterday but in another blue color and decorated differently. The lace part of her dress makes it so old that it looks like the dress is coming from another era for example the 1900s or just before.
ReplyDeleteThe hats of Eugenie (today) and Nina (yesterday) are remembering me at the hats of bishops or cardinals in the Catholic church. I wonder if they still wear it. A long time I didn't see these hats on pictures of clerical ceremonies in Rome.
Sophie's dress is exaggerated. Take the overlay away and just keep the lace part that covers the neck of the dress. Take the sleeves away too or make them shorter. When I saw the name of the brand : "Suzannah", it doesn't surprise me. The Suzannah dresses can go in the group of Erdem & Co. Always something wrong.
Zara and Beatrice have approximately the same dress, but I prefer Zara in her 's.
Caroll Middleton is dressed less good than before. Sara Ferguson is dressed not bad. At least her clothes do not seem to be too tight. Eugenie's dress is not appropriate for the occasion.
If I compare the pictures of 10 years ago and those taken today in Ascot and on Trooping the colors, it getting worse every year.
Paloma.
Zara is on a roll. This is a perfect Ascot outfit and she seems to be enjoying herself tremendously - love that! Beatrice is a close second. I just adore her coherent styling and the colour palette was made for her! Sophie is a bit of a miss for me. The shape and length just aren't right and the flowers on transparent mesh remind me of a shower curtain. Maybe if everything was a bit shorter - sleeves, hem, neckline - it would look better. No surprises with Camilla, Anne and Sarah. I wish the Duchess of Gloucester had left her coat at home. It looks elegant and all, but out of place in the sea of summery florals and pastels. Love her smile and enthusiasm, though. And finally Eugenie - I feel like every aspect of her outfit is lovely, the dress, the hat, the shoes... but I'm missing some coherence to make it a "look".
ReplyDelete-Nika-
Interesting thing about Sophie, her wedding dress was actually ill-fitting as well. It was V-neck/coatdress situation that wasn't quite right at the shoulders among other things.
ReplyDeleteThe Brits royals love to show off in various events and spend their time dressing up like no other royals, fashion wise it’s a pleasure for our eyes. Very entertaining.
ReplyDeleteZara looks exceptional, elegant and stylish. Her hat and hair looks superb. Beatrice looks great, love her dress. I don't like Carole Middletons dress or her hair. Eugenie's dress doesn't suit her, I don't like this dress at all. The tassel thingy is silly on her hat. The Duchess of Gloucester looks fabulous. She must have felt chilly to wear her coat, regardless, lovely ensemble. Sophie's dress is terrible. I have never said that before about any dress, but this is the exception. The underneath needs to match the length of the hem. The overlay is dreadful. The Queen's brooch is superb, a beautiful brooch.
ReplyDeleteWell, here we go again. I think Beatrice dress looks great. Sophies dress I am not a fan of and a bit too long. The other RL look very nice. I really like Annes outfit today. Eugenie's dress i think is a bit too snug, wonder if she borrowed the hat from Nina of Greece? Sara's outfit looked good not so tight and a bit longer. Zara Tindall looked very good all week. Beatrice and Zara are today's winners. css
ReplyDeleteZara, lovely as always.
ReplyDeleteEugenie; eyebrows too odd, hat/tassel awful (looks like she is graduating from somewhere), dress not well fitting, shows her every curve.
Cam, same old style, different colour, different day, rather boring
Bea, lovely dress, same as one Sophie wore a short time ago.
William, Edward, handsome as ever.
Sophie, dress seemingly from another era, different, yet lovely overall.
Carole M/husband, nice to see them both in attendance.
Fergie, appears as if she is not wearing stockings, and the piece of material hanging down on her skirt should have been left in the closet. She needed a larger jacket, the buttons looked way too tight.
Duke and Duchess of G beautifully turned out as usual.
The Princess Royal, Anne, lovely as ever, always appropriate for every occasion.
Edwina
