Annual Octave pilgrimage ended with closing procession on Sunday. As per tradition, members of the Grand Ducal family also participated in the closing procession. On May 5, 2024, Grand Duke Henri, Grand Duchess Maria Teresa, Prince Guillaume, Princess Stephanie, Prince Charles and Prince François took part in the closing procession of the Octave. The members of the Grand-Ducal Family then greeted the public from the balcony after an aubade performed by the city's orchestra.
Princess Stephanie: Lovely as always, but not an ensemble I like. Very boxy, not flattering. And the orange nuance collides with her compextion, IMO. But again, sweet as always.

Only a few members of the family joining in at the Octave parade or Church services. Years ago, almost everyone was participating. It sure slimed down. Fashion wise nothing really special. The color of both outfits is nice. Does anyone know if Alexandras and Nicholas baby is born yet and if boy or girl? css
ReplyDeleteThe court will announce it. Also the Grand Duchess usually shares such moments on her instagram. So perhaps the baby is not born yet.

@css The children of Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa are living abroad. They cannot be present each time there are festivities or ceremonies in the Grand Duchy. Like in other countries the Grand Ducal family, who is living in the country, consists of the reigning couple, the heir to the throne and his wife and children.
DeleteI have to say I'm not a huge fan of either outfit, but if forced I'd choose GD MT's over Stephanie's. I wonder when hats stopped being worn for this event - I'm pretty sure they used to be in the 2000s.

ReplyDeleteThe colour of Princess Stephanie's outfit is lovely. I like the tunic top. Not sure if it might have looked better just worn as a dress. Now that I can see GD Maria Theresa's whole outfit, I'm not a fan. Too much dressing gown/pyjama look for me though I still think the colour is great.

ReplyDeleteI disagree PStephanie looks bigger than she is. I feel like she’s trying to hide in these big boxy dresses, shirts and blouses. There’s no need. She is a beautiful woman. She could use a good stylist that gives her that confidence.
DeleteGD MT looks lovely, this outfit suits her well. Love the color. The pants and jacket work in well. Princess Stephanie's outfit on the other hand not so much. The long overtop looks aging and bland.

Sadly, I don't like this outfit on the Hereditary Grand Duchess. The colour is gorgeous on her, and I love her hairstaile and minimal make-up. I like the Grand Duchess' outfit, but not the her makeup. Lovely to see the two little princes, too cute for words as always.

DeleteMême si je n'en suis pas trop fan, l'ensemble de Maria Teresa va quand même bien à sa morphologie ; Stéphanie est ravissante dans cette couleur orange mais un petit décolleté en V et quelques centimètres en moins de sa tunique auraient apporté plus d'équilibre à sa tenue !

ReplyDeleteI agree. I think the top is too long, almost a dress and the square neckline is not good, a V-neckline would have been better. Her pants are a little bit too short. I love the orange color on Stephanie, but I like her hair more when it is loose with a side part. The accessories are not chosen well, nude shoes and a golden shoulder bag are not the good colors. Darker shoes and handbag would have been better.

ReplyDeleteBoth women were a huge NO from me. The orange is it a dress, is it pants looked terrible, along with the low neckline. The green coat/jacket with fru-fru sleeves, low cut v-neckline, wide belt, looked more like a belted short bathrobe.
ReplyDeleteI find it surprising how much both leading ladies lack in style. In particular as neither has a physical appearance that can make them easy to dress, shouldn’t they seek advice? They certainly could afford a stylist.
