On 10 May, Swedish Queen Silvia visited the newly built care home Tullgatan 40 in Borgholm. During the visit, the Queen inaugurated the residence's garden and bowling alley. The new care home has 80 apartments as well as common areas that have space to eat, meet with relatives and participate in various activities. Before the inauguration ceremony, the Queen was welcomed by Jens Odevall, municipal manager in Borgholm.

Is it winter in Sweden?
ReplyDeleteIt has been Spring in Sweden when in the Benelux, North of France, Germany it was still cold and it rained a lot. Now it is a beautiful day 23°C in the afternoon, but in Sweden it seems that it is cold again. Everybody is wearing winter coats.
DeleteNot winter but very cold weather in Öland.
DeleteDo you see her in a wintercoat?
DeleteIt’s a very cold spring!
DeleteA smart outfit except for the unnecessary necklace.
ReplyDeleteSome of the residents are probably not much older than the Queen.!
@ Cate.
DeleteWhy this necklace is unnecessary. If she wish to wear it does no harm to anybody. She cannot wear her tiara and diamond necklace every day.
Même dans cette veste pied de poule kaki combinée au noir du pantalon, la reine Silvia a de l'allure !
ReplyDeleteDom kallade parken Drottning Silvias Park, vad de är trevliga i Borgholm på Gotland!
ReplyDeletePlease forgive me but Borgholm is placed on Öland, Swedens 2nd largest island. Visby is the capital city of Gotland, Swedens largest island, which also happen to be the biggest island of the Baltic Sea.
DeleteAnd please could we all agree on saying only nice things about Royals and their way of dressing shown in Helen s blogg. There is a chance that these people happen to read the commends in this blogg, and let's remember Royotoo are humans with feeling that can be hurten.
Best regards, Anna
Noooo - Those shoes 🙄 so very unelegant

Queen Silvia looks very youthful in these pictures. Nice outfit, the tweed jacket is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteWe don't see Silvia casual very often. Still nice. css
ReplyDeleteI like the new haircut. Very reminiscent of her younger days. Smart outfit given the mercury dropped again in Sweden.

Nice looking and well fitting clothing. Really like Q Sylvia's new hair colour and very pleased to see that she put the purple lipstick away for the day. She really looks good as well as comfortable
ReplyDeleteI adore her Majesty's look, style, hair, and warn approach with the residents! I hope to look that good when I will turn 80..... Stunning really....
ReplyDeleteI admire Q Silvia for joining in with this community, and fitting in with their warm clothing styles, nice comfortable shoes etc. and no need to impress anyone -- still looking amazingly good & clearly in excellent form.
ReplyDeleteWomen over 80 have shoes like that!
ReplyDeleteDear Anna, Of course we could agree to only say nice things about the royals here,
ReplyDeletebut criticism must be allowed, otherwise the blog becomes stale and unrealistic. Here, I find the queen appropriately dressed, but I dislike her chunky footwear, they remind me of hiking shoes. I am sure she has other comfortable flat shoes in her cupboard with a bit of flair. My remarks are perfectly harmless and do not offend, nothing wrong with that.

I like what the Queen is wearing, she is casual but looks great. How uplifting it must have been for the group at this facility, lovely visit.
