On Wednesday, May 8, Dutch Queen Maxima paid a working visit to the Orange House of Blijf Group in Almere. This year marks 50 years since the establishment of the first Blijf-van-mijn-lijfhuis (Stay-of-My-Life Home), the predecessor of the Blijf Group (Stay Group), opened as a women's shelter in the Netherlands. During the visit, the Queen toured the building and spoke with staff and residents.
Blijf Group provides help at home, and also serves as crisis shelters and gives residential support. Blijf Group has four Orange Houses and a 'normal' shelter for victims of domestic violence. The Oranje House in Almere was opened in 2017. In addition to an emergency shelter, this Oranje House has 23 apartments for women with or without children. In August 2011, then Princess Maxima opened the first Oranje House of Blijf Group in Alkmaar.
She makes me smile, outfit ok, hair can be better. But overall not bad
ReplyDeleteMe too! :)
DeleteHair recovering from Great hair day a few days ago! Suit is lovely
ReplyDeleteI agree Anon 17:43.!
DeleteThis is a great suit and I like it with the wide pants. You can't really go wrong with Max Mara, Hugo Boss or Armani.
ReplyDeleteNice smile, too bad she did not pull the stringy hair back into a low ponytail. It would have looked much professional.
ReplyDeleteLovely trouser suit. Just perfect for Queen Maxima. Thinking that the lady, the back of whose head we see in pic 7 might match the Queen for styling tips!
ReplyDeleteCe costume bleu marine convient bien à la silhouette de Maxima même si je ne suis pas vraiment fan du pantalon large ; je pense avoir déjà vues ses boucles d'oreilles mais je ne me rappelle pas à quelle occasion ?!
ReplyDeleteOne of her best looks. I really like this suit. She always has a great smile

This Navy pantsuit looks fabulous. Love the length of the coat, the pants also are a good length. She brings such joy to these visits. Very engaging and happy. A very sincere person. She does such great work.
ReplyDeleteQueen Maxima should really consider changing her hairstyle to a simple and easy-to-manage hairstyle.
ReplyDeleteDear Anon 21:42
DeleteQ.Max has already got an easy to manage hairstyle.
It’s called ‘shabby-chic’. I’ve heard it also called ‘a working girl’s hairstyle’.
A quick shower and shampoo, a quick towel dry, a bit of conditioner and a minute or two with a hairdryer.
Use your fingers, a comb is not needed.
A quick cup of coffee and you’re ready to hit the road running.
Two points…….
1/ I don’t think it’s a good style for a Queen.
2/ You need a good head of hair with volume.
The lady in photo N° 7 is a good example.
@deadeggs
Delete1/ That is just Queen Maxima's problem, her hair is too thin.
2/ When she needs to have a good hairstyle like a couple of days ago, she has to wear hair extensions.
We all know that wearing hair extensions every day is not possible and it is not recommended either. When the extensions are taken away, her hair is thin again.
Can’t help it but I like Maxima’s hair - she looks like a real living person, all natural. Add all the charm she seems to have and the intelligence and she’s a superwoman. By the way, her dress is super! Ac
ReplyDeleteThis suit is perfection! Wow, what a difference from the culottes and jacket she wore earlier. (V.M.)
ReplyDeleteNo matter about her hair and sometimes her attire, Q Maxima is always smiling and full of positive energy!! Bg
ReplyDeleteBack to bad hair. Why? The outfit looks good.
ReplyDelete@ Kteach
DeleteWhy ? Because she took the extensions away. She cannot wear them all the time, it is not healthy for her natural hair.
So, who's going to be the first to say that it needs a 'pop' of colour?
ReplyDeleteGreat suit, big smile on a lovely lady.
ReplyDeleteNice suit, bad hair, nice smile.
ReplyDeleteEdwina
Are you (and a lot of other people) always going to repeat the hair thing.
ReplyDeleteThere are other royal ladies whose hair is uglier than Q Maxima's, Princess Anne for example. Talk about her hair instead of always talking about CP Victoria's hair, Queen Maxima's, HGD Stephanie's even Queen Mathilde's hair.
