Froufrou
Beautiful.!
ReplyDeleteQueen Mathilde rocks evening dresses. She looks superb in both of them.
ReplyDeleteI suspect that Queen M just gotten new stylist. She is geting prettier than ever.

DeleteQueen Mathilde had other dresses by Costarellos in the past. Of Dries Van Noten, she has several dresses and pant suits bought in the past and she is still buying regularly new clothes designed by him. The Costarellos dress might be hired, because this designer is known for that possibility. Also at Essentiel Antwerp [another designer whose creations are worn as well by Queen Mathilde as by Princess Elisabeth and also by some Princesses of the Netherlands (daughters in law of Princess Margriet)] you can hire an evening gown.
My preference goes to the white dress which we have seen rather recently, wonderful for her. A pity we don't see the corail dress in full length. She looks rather tired on pic 2&3, nr1 is blurred. I don't like the hair styling on these photos.
ReplyDeleteI love both dresses. The coral red dress is looking very beautiful on Queen Mathilde. Love the earrings too.
ReplyDeleteThe white evening gown she wore recently during the visit of GD Henri of Luxembourg and GD Maria Teresa. Love this dress also very much. For the first time I see Queen Mathilde did her hair in an half up do. She looks very young with this hair style. The pearl and diamond earrings are matching the dress very well.
C'est non pour moi. Je n'aime pas tellement les robes avec une seule manche, j'ai froid en voyant le bras nu : D
ReplyDeleteEt ce tissu brillant me fait penser à un emballage de bonbon. Paloma.
D'accord avec vous. Irene

DeleteI’m a great fan of Christos Costarellos’s work. He does excellent evening wear, often using Greek mythology for inspiration.
DeleteAnd yes, I think he does a lot of "rent-a-dress" for his clients, example, Carrie Symond/Johnson’s wedding dress, £45.00 for the day.
Queen Mathild’s dress is a good example but I don’t think it’s a good dress for her.
More for a red carpet gala. But then I’ve never liked one sleeve or one shoulder dresses (too many jokes can be made by people like me about the style).
If the right arm and sleeve could be done the same as the left, I think it would better suit the Queen’s classic beauty.
As it is, I think it’s just a little bit “je ne sais quoi” for Queen Mathilde.

Balloon sleeves on both sides of the dress would make Queen Mathilde look wider than she is.
DeleteAwful! Irene
ReplyDeleteWhile I love the coral colour of the first dress, I'm not a fan of the one shouldered look. The white dress is beautiful
ReplyDeleteQueen Mathilde looks gorgeous in both of these beautiful gowns. While I love both I have to give more style points to the white gown. I think the difference is really her hairstyle. I love the hairstyle she's wearing with the white gown--it's soft, feminine and so flattering to her. I'd love to see her wear this style more often as it is very flexible for daytime and evening looks.

I like as well the hair styling with the white gown, but not the one with the corail one.
DeleteI think the balloon-shaped sleeve of the coral color dress detracts from the beautiful waist effect of the dress, so for me this dress should have been sleeveless. I still think the white dress looks beautiful on QN and it's a great fit
ReplyDeleteYes I agree…the fullness of the sleeve does not compliment the shape of the dress. (V.M.)
DeleteAgree, the sleeve is a distraction. Love this white dress every time.
DeleteI also believe the corail dress would be better sleeveless.
DeleteNice gown don't care about the sleeve. I like the white gown much better. css
ReplyDeleteThe apricot off the shoulder gown looks good, but I don't like the sleeve, it looks odd to me. The white gown looks superb. Its a really beautiful gown. Very flattering. I cannot see a full frontal on the Queen but on the model, it looks sensational.
ReplyDeleteThe gown's one sleeve look is rather odd, otherwise Queen M looks lovely.
