On May 12, 2024, Queen Camilla has attended the final day of the 2024 Badminton Horse Trials at Badminton House in Gloucestershire. As patron of British Equestrian, the Queen watched the final show-jumping phase of the competition before presenting trophies to winners in the arena. Peter Phillips, Isla Phillips and Savannah Phillips were also in attendance. This year marks the 75th anniversary of the historic equestrian tournament.
SAMANTHA SUNG Aster Midi Dress
Je ne peux pas dire que l'imprimé de cette robe lui convienne bien ; la dame de la dernière photo à côté de Camilla porte t-elle une robe ou alors un haut avec des couleurs pastel qui se marient à merveille ?
ReplyDeleteHer Royal Highness, Queen Camilla, is so warm-hearted and down to earth; may God protect Thee!!!
ReplyDeleteVery moving comment on a really authentic woman, thank you
DeleteRe No name 17:27 and No name 19:36.
DeleteNice and kind comments (nothing about fashion) but am I wrong in thinking that people could be using Helen’s blog in the hope of getting an invitation to the next garden party at Buckingham Palace?
Gives me ideas 😁
oh its a dress from a brand, i thought it was another dress from her simstress. but i can see why she choose it, similar to her usual style
ReplyDeleteThat was also my reaction. It's very much her normal style. perfectly nice but unexciting.
Deletebeautifull dress
DeleteShe is not dressed like the wife of a king.
ReplyDeleteNobody of the other women on these pictures are dressed very well.
She probably forgot her crown, velvet gown and jewels back home. Maybe next time?
DeleteHow should she be dressed?
DeleteI guess the wife of a king is still a person?! - with own tastes and preferences, … who may sometimes, perhaps, choose to wear fluffy slippers and an old dressing gown to watch tv, or a tracksuit for a walk, or a casual dress for a casual horse watching day?! When Camilla has a formal event she really seems to nail it, and in between times, always neat and appropriate from what I observe. - Grace

DeleteI wouldn't call her dresses casual but more like the dress of a house wife who is wearing her older dresses at home to do her housekeeping. The dresses with a zipper in the front (and she has a lot of them) are not elegant, not up to date, the colors and fabrics are rather boring. It is time she will wear something that is made in a good fabric, plain color, no prints that refer to the prints of an apron, no zipper in the front or buttons. The best to wear for older ladies (she has the same age as I have) is a dress with a very simple straight cut in one piece (not a bodice and a skirt) and 3/4 sleeves which she has already and a round, boat or V neckline. This type of dress would make her look slimmer than she is and would look more elegant (see Princess Benedikte of Denmark). If she wish to dress more casual she could wear a lovely pant suit or pants and a lovely jacket/blazer (see Queen Sonia of Norway or Queen Silvia of Sweden).

DeleteLovely dress and color. Also well visited by extended family. Always nice to see them out. css
ReplyDeleteGood to see Peter and his children there;wonder if Anne was there.Camillas hair needs a trim.Love the horsey set (Tara)
ReplyDeleteThis style suits the queens figure, easy to wear and not overwhelming for any occasion. I am okay with her working uniform it serves its purpose well.
ReplyDeleteAs mentioned above, Camilla’s frock is by Korean born Samantha Sung.
DeleteShe studied design at Parsons School of Design (New York?)
Early in her career she worked as Senior Designer for Ralph Lauren Collections.
She launched her eponymous label in London in 2006.
Her creations are of high quality fabrics and hand crafted.
She is noted for her colourful hand-printed, hand-blocked prints.
Prices are in line with the quality of the pieces IMO.
Some of her work can be seen via ….

Dear No Name 7:37, Your comments regarding queen Camilla’s clothes reflect what I have often written. She needs a new direction, a sartorial profile. Excellent examples are major royals like Benedikte of Denmark, Sonia of Norway, Silvia of Sweden and my recent “discovery”, the Duchess of Gloucester. They are elegant
ReplyDeleteand have that extra touch, or perhaps magic, we expect from their positions. Even the strained financial circumstances of the Duchess of Gloucester do not prevent
her from always looking distinguished. Camilla needs guidance and she has enough money and connections at her disposal to obtain such help. She is probably not interested in fashion, perfectly legitimate, but that is irrelevant in her position.

@Virginia: "DoG...strained financial circumstances"??? Huh? Can you explain?

@Anon 07;37, re styling for older ladies, "straight cut in one piece": For some, this works, yes, basically if the person lacks a well defined waistline or has proportion and/or weight problems around the waistline. I also don't really like Camilla's preference in dresses, the zips, the small standing collars etc. , but I think for her to hide her waistline would not be not an advantage. The dress she wears here has a well-defined waistline with a belt over a wider skirt and shows nicely her quite presentable silhouette. Not slim, but good contours are more important, imho. But I fully agree with you, that she could wear two-pieces and suits more often.
ReplyDelete@ "deadeggs" 14/5/24 08:33 from "No name 17:27"
ReplyDeleteI' am from Austria, hello, and spent half a year in GB in 1979. Long long time ago:)
I'm not looking forward to get an invitation to any garten party at Buck's House, but as I had very very familiar friends in GB, I love and follow the British Monarchy (Her Majesty, the QUEEN Elisabeth, visited Austria, when I was a little little child and HM the Queen visited the HOME of our horses PIBER, next to Köflach, in Styria:)
Dear No name 20:24 and the same No name 17:27".
DeleteHello and hello to your beautiful country, Austria.
Would love to visit your country in spring and summer.
Must be a dream.
I thought you and the other blogger were singing sweet songs about Camilla in the hope of getting an invitation to a garden party at Buck House
But why not write to Camilla direct, explain your connections with England and ask her if she could include you on her guest list for the next garden party?
Her address is …….
Her Majesty The Queen,
Buckingham Palace,
London, SW1A 1AA.
An example of how you could compose the letter……
The letter could begin with 'Madam' or 'May it please Your Majesty and then write your request.
It could end with
'I have the honour to remain, Madam, Your Majesty's most humble and obedient subject' and then write your name.
But thinking about it, could you ask for two invitations?
I’d be happy to join you but I’d need plenty of advanced warning to put together a posh frock and a Q.Maxima style hat.
Be warned, I’m not a fashionista.
You know, I’d be so nervous, I wouldn’t be able to hold a teacup straight. They’d have to give me my tea in a mug.
Or I could take my own mug with a photo of Queen Elizabeth II on it.
Sounds like we could have a lot of fun.
This dress looks good, the print is solid, but overall she wears it well. Lovely to see Peter and his girls at the event.
ReplyDeleteDear No Name 13:53, The Duke of Gloucester has finally been able to sell his family property Barnwell Manor, you can find all information on the Internet and draw your conclusions.
ReplyDelete🌞 Virgnia
Thank you. I'll look it up when I can.
DeleteAnd BTW my name is Anon 9:13, not 'No name".
