Princess Astrid presented the 2024 Scientific Awards of the Queen Elisabeth Medical Foundation (QEMF) at the Royal Palace in Brussels. These awards aim to support those researchers Belgium who are working in the field of neuroscience. The QEMF is a Belgian non-profit organization, founded in 1926 by Elisabeth of Bavaria. Princess Astrid is honorary president of the QEMF's board of directors, which consists of 15 members.
GUCCI Red and Blue Tweed Jacket
GUCCI Sylvie Small Shoulder Bag
Elégante veste Gucci mais je la verrais plutôt fermée -par exemple- sur une jupe droite ; j'aime beaucoup ce petit sac à mains mais pas du tout le style des chaussures à bride !
ReplyDeleteThe skirt is too short, and it looks like it climbed from her waist up to her boobs, because it is too small. The jacket is 2-3 sizes too small. The hair style is no good. But the shoes and the bag are lovely. - Ellie
ReplyDeletei agree, its a very Barbie look not suitable for a woman of her age
DeleteAgain this age thing??
DeleteThe skirt is too short and small, and it looks like it climbed from her waist up to her boobs. The jacket is 2-3 sizes too small. The hair style is domestic fresh-from-the-shower. - Ellie
ReplyDeleteI like the jacket, love the skirt but not sure that they are a perfect match.
ReplyDeleteShoes and bag match perfectly.
Well, imo the pleaded skirt doesn't combine well with the beautiful Gucci jacket of which I feel it's a bit tight on the hips; not the best look by PA
ReplyDeleteLove the attire ( especially the shoes) of Prof. Véronique Halloin, Secretary general of the Foundation. Rather akward proportions on Princess Astrid, though each item separately is beautiful.
ReplyDeletePrincess Astrid has a lot of clothes, shoes and handbags from brands like Gucci or Chanel. They are not new, she has them since a long time when she was thinner. This could explain why the jacket is a bit too tight. I don't like the shoes with straps. It makes legs look shorter and thicker. Only women with very thin and long legs look good with these shoes. As the presentation of the jacket on the last picture is shown with a white pleated skirt, I think it was supposed to be worn like that.
ReplyDeleteI don’t like to criticise the ensembles of Princess Astrid as she seems to be a charming person and is a great help to her brother (King Albert of Belgium).
DeleteHowever, as I’ve said before, fashion doesn’t seem to be her forté. She always, always has expensive and top designer clothes but she and/or her stylist don’t know how to put them together.
Unfortunately, she doesn’t get WOW’s and stunning votes.
Just spending big bucks and buying top designer clothes, doesn’t guarantee a WOW vote.
I was not thrilled with the shoes with straps and light colored stockings, plus the jacket was too small, and the skirt, did not really look good with the skirt.

DeleteI don't think Princess Astrid is spending big bucks on her clothes, because all the classics she has in her dressing room (Chanel, Gucci, etc) are not new. When she is on Economic Mission abroad she wears some new brands which are not very expensive. She also takes with her old classics like a beautiful Gucci dress, Chanel jackets, classic coats, .... When she was younger she wore beautiful outfits. A WOW vote is not obtained by clothes alone. You must not forget Princess Astrid is getting older like we all do. She had health problems a couple of years ago, but she is full of energy again and is an asset to her brother King Philippe. She represents him on all the economic missions he did himself before he was king. Belgian royals (men and women) are capable people who are able to study a subject and give a speech in which one can hear they know exactly what is going on.
No pictures of Queen Mathilde when she attended on last Saturday the last semi final of the Queen Elisabeth contest for Violin 2024 (Queen Mathilde blogspot).
ReplyDeleteNon mi è mai piaciuto lo stile di Astrid, questa giacca è però molto bella e ancora una volta non è riuscita a valorizzarsi.
ReplyDeleteCosì lontana dalla bellezza di Paola.

This Gucci costume is for ultra-thin women, so it won't fit Princess Astrid.
ReplyDeleteOther ladies in pants costumes - bizarre, especially the so-called pants. "Turkish cut" - it looks like a plastic bag, only the drawstring is missing.
(I understand that they are devoted into science and fashion comes second to them, but still - I think if they played it for sure and pulled out a classic costume, they would have done better.)

Princess Astrid was thinner and younger when she bought this two-pieces outfit by Gucci years ago. One should be pleased that aristocratic ladies are still wearing their old(er) clothes.
DeleteI love the jacket and skirt, although the latter could have been a little longer. Beautiful bag. The shoes are a match, although not particularly my taste because they are rarely becoming, legs tend to look chunky.

DeleteNot a fan of any of the outfits. The princess looks comfortable in her clothes and looks okay, except for the shoes. Without the safety strap the overall look would of been much better. As for the lady on the left perhaps without the jacket it would look balanced. Sleeveless suit, maybe in a bright colour.
ReplyDeleteA look back at some of Princess Astrid's fashion moments from TATLER (June 2022)......

I think that Astrid looks OK. If you look at Gucci's photo of the jacket it is obvious why Astrid chose the white pleated skirt--its how Gucci styled the jacket. I think the issue is the jacket--its too small through the hips. Had Astrid worn the jacket open with a simple, plain blouse her whole outfit would have looked better. The shoes would have looked much better had they been simple pumps--no strap. This outfit had real possibilities but the too tight/too small jacket made a mess of things.

Desde mi punto de vista, demasiadas combinaciones de colores: chaqueta, bolso y zapatos.....y aunque parezca ser que "todo combina", pienso, que en conjunto dicho "oufit", no es elegante.
ReplyDeleteThe jacket is beautiful, glorious design. The overall look doesn't seem to gel with me. I'm not sure if its the length of the skirt? The straps of the shoes, I don't like. The bag is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteNice outfit just not together. I think the jacket would look great paired with a black pant, OMO. css
