On May 29, 2024, King Charles III and Queen Camilla visited the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (Rada) in central London, to celebrate the school's 120th anniversary. King Charles is Patron of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. The King and Queen also watched a performance by students. Rada is a drama school in London, which provides vocational conservatoire training for theatre, film, television, and radio.

It is obvious that Queen Camilla adores day dresses that she is comfortable in, and this recent multi-wear confirms that again. She certainly knows how to dress up when the need calls for it, and so I am fine when she plays it down for occasions that don't focus attention on her. Blue is certainly her colour as we all know, and she wears that colour, in all it's shades and tones, very well.

Agreed. A true country lady at heart, and it shows an appreciation for quality over quantity. I like it very much.

Nice colour and functional, I like how it fits.
ReplyDeleteCamilla is stylish!
ReplyDeleteSo good ro see them both out together again...
ReplyDeleteThis dress looks serviceable, comfortable and probably that is what the Queen wants at this
ReplyDeletepoint. The color suits her well.
Serviceable is the word for it. Not exactly a ringing endorsement. The pattern of the fabric is what brings it down for me, though I will take this style over her house robe dresses every time. I would like to see some solid colors in this style. She wears green, red, and pink equally well.
DeleteAgree with you, Ava Pittman .
DeleteA dress that is serviceable, comfortable and with a skirt that allows you to sit with your legs crossed without being criticised.
Does it have the zip down the front?
All in all a proper dress without all this fashion tra.-la-la, Vogue etc.
Would retain its practicability in no matter what colour.
I get that she likes this comfortable style. It suits her. But would it hurt to get three or four more in different patterns? It seems she wears this dress once a week. She's a Queen not an office clerk.
ReplyDeleteYou know, I think her wardrobe manager** should negotiate with the dressmaker to buy two and get the third one free; in different colours of course.
DeleteThe dress department in my local supermarket often has that type of offer, that is, buy two of the same frocks and the third one is free.
NOTE: I don’t buy at the dress department in our local supermarket as it’s right next to the section where they sell the frozen peas.
Freezing cold so I use another supermarket where the dress department is next to where they sell the stuffed cooked chickens.
Much nicer and warmer atmosphere and nice smell from the cooked chickens. Puts pleasure into buying a new frock.
**A wardrobe manager is probably standing in until they find a stylist.
Nice enough dress but safe and unexciting

I love this dress and Queen Camilla looks lovely. I like her daytime working outfit--a dress in a simple comfortable style, different fabrics, and stylish with interesting details (this dress has an interesting cuff on the sleeves). Blue shades are marvelous colors for Camilla. How wonderful to see the King and Queen together--I like how they complimented each other in terms of colors today.

The focus would not be on Camilla with that dress;maybe out shopping it would be okay. Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth would dress to show respect and how important it was to her that you had asked her to attend your function.
ReplyDeleteThis dress might be fine back home doing the jobs;even Charles knows when to dress up.Maybe that lady with the costume in picture 3 could design her a dress (Tara)
Queen Camilla is not Queen Elizabeth II.
DeleteQueen Elizabeth belonged to a different era. Queen Elizabeth was also a reigning monarch. Camilla is NOT a reigning monarch, she is only a Queen consort. Their philosophies and purposes for the way they dress are completely different, dictated by the current times, and their roles in the monarchy.

A house wife's day dress. Nothing what a queen should wear.

ReplyDeleteHelp is on the way. Royal Ascot 18th to 22 June 2024.
Ladies day 20th June.
VERY strict dress code for both men and women.
I can’t help but wonder what Diana would have worn… bless her soul.
ReplyDeleteCamilla looks comfortable. Whether that’s all one wants to be said about a queen (even if she is just queen consort) is a different matter. Mary, Letizia, Silvia, Mathilde … all are queens consort. Yet they are always elegant and stylish (as well as comfortable). I suppose one has to be born with that, money can’t buy it.
CH.
Yep @CH, you've either got it or you ain't.
DeleteAnd no matter how big your purse (or clutch) is money's not going to buy it.
The other women who are present at the celebration are dressed better than Camilla.
ReplyDeleteNice color and style. css
ReplyDeleteWho cares. Going to outings just to show off. The Monarchy is on it's way out. They really don't do anything for the country, they have no power. Harry and Megan were smart to step down. Why would anyone want to be told what to wear, what they can and cannot eat, how to act in public or what they can say. No better than slaves.
ReplyDeleteOh! dear no name.
DeleteYou’re a bit later getting here.
Wouldn’t the controller at the door let you in?
Tell them next time that you’re going to talk about fashion.
Then they’ll let you get to the top of the queue.
Well anonymous, my employer tells me what I can wear with a dress code, and how to act in a professional manner and I'm not Royal. We all have rules we abide by to remain civilized.
