On April 12, 2024, the Duke of Sussex attended the Royal Salute Polo Challenge held at the USPA National Polo Center in Wellington. The charity competition was held for the benefit of Sentebale, which is a charity founded by the Duke and Prince Seeiso of Lesotho to support children in Lesotho and Botswana. The Duchess of Sussex was also present at the event to cheer on her husband the Duke of Sussex during a polo match.
The Duke of Sussex and Prince Seeiso of Lesotho co-founded Sentebale in 2006 as a response to the needs of children and young people living in the south Africa country. The charity's name, Sentebale, means forget-me-not in the language of Lesotho, and represents a pledge to remember and help vulnerable children.

ReplyDeleteNice jumpsuit but she brings bad energy to the blog, she brought even bad energy to the Royal family, as her siblings predicted! Everything turned upside down! Omen
DeletePrince Harry, Nacho Figueras and their better halves are so adorable that I smile from the bottom of my heart.
DeleteAda
Prince Harry, Nacho Figueras and their better halves are so adorable that I smile from the bottom of my heart.
Delete@Omen , this is the dress not jumpsuit besides that blog is all about fashion not about someone energy.
DeleteAva
Not sure why anon 10.53 asks her to smile. She is smiling and if you see the photos from the whole weekend she is clearly in her happy place with friends. I love the dress , the shoes seem an odd choice for polo. Meghan does not bring bad energy to the blog, the commenters are the ones who bring the bad energy. If you don’t like one of the people the blog writer covers just scroll on by, don’t bring you bad energy. LRB
DeleteAnnonymous 17:26. The only person bringing negativity to this blog is you. Meghan is shining her light. Other posters are giving interesting insights as usual.
DeleteI agree with the sarcasm - must always be smiling, must always be holding hands (the video shows the twists and awkward turns needed to always hold hands) - but it is for Netflix. Fashion wise, the high heels at the polo are ridiculous and her hair is dull. Delfina, on the other hand, looks immaculate and has wonderful shoes.
Delete@Anonymous 15/4 05:23
DeleteYou are not even capable to camouflage your hate and jealousy. No wonder that couple left for the States (because yes, I assume you are not the only one who is thinking like that).
Anonymous 10:53, if you have nothing to add but one-word sarcasm, skip over the post and spare thoughtful posters who respect Helen’s blog your petty bleats. There are royals covered in this blog who I do not like—I skip over them as I have nothing helpful or illuminating to add. Please consider doing the same.
DeleteOMG, bad energy on the NewMyRoyals’s blog!
DeleteSo that explains why some days after I’ve been reading comments from fellow bloggers, I’m not interested in doing my dusting, cooking meals and watching my soap operas.
I think Helen should use a code, example BEC*, to help people like me who are susceptible to having their good energy shattered to pieces by bloggers on this site.
BEC *Bad Energy Comment
Dear 18:02. You are a Saint.
DeleteMeghan's outfit suits her. She definitely has her own style, wearing neutral colours often and always very elegant. Hair and jewellery really complement each other. I am wondering what she would have worn if they were not filming for Harry's Netflix show, probably something less fancy. Personally, I like the orange outfit of the woman next to her even more, she looks fab.
ReplyDeleteDamsel Dragonfly
Omen, your comment is pure bad energie. The jumpsuit is perfect.
DeleteLove this outfit. Super elegant! I admire anyone who can walk on grass with those very high and spiky heels.
ReplyDeleteI like the dress very much. Very elegant. But really going to a polomatch with high heels of 10 cm or more is very ridiculous
DeleteMeghan got style!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful couple, always wishing them much health and happiness, they deserve all good things., Gemare
ReplyDeleteAnd now quickly to sit in front of the Netflix cameras and talk about how the world and especially the Prince and Princess of Wales are hurting them (irony).
DeleteLia
Lia..agree! They’ll soon be whining about something. Nothing is ever their fault…
DeleteLia and Anon 20.14 - they have announced they are making a programme for Netflix about Polo - so it is obvious that the Netflix team will be there. This has absolutely nothing to do with the Wales family.
DeleteLovely dress!
ReplyDeleteWow what a beautiful outfit. Meghan looks gorgeous. Excellent to wear in a hot climate. Prince Harry is looking handsome too. Despite all the rumors we hear now and then, they look happy together.
ReplyDeleteOn dirait presque que cette robe a été créée pour Meghan surtout dans cette couleur ivoire ; pour ce qui est des lunettes, ce style ne lui convient vraiment pas !
ReplyDeleteMeghan looks great here, and like other posters, I love her outfit - chic and stylish and perfect for a woman of her age, as well as the event she is attending which usually tend to be high on the style side. More than that though, I'm happy for the worthwhile cause and the children it will benefit.
ReplyDelete- Anon 9:13
I’m in the minority but I’m not a fan of her outfit. It looks like it’s made from cheap tissue paper and the bow in the back looks awkward. Her earrings are pretty.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you. I think that the fit is poor and that's part of why I don't like it.
DeleteKim
I agree with you.
DeleteWell said.
Well chosen outfit for the event and the Duchess wears it well.
ReplyDeleteSummer elegance.
Wow! What an elegant outfit—she looks fabulous. And so does Harry. The photo of her awarding the prize is the best. She does favor monochromatic colors and they suit her—statement without fuss.
ReplyDeleteWhatever Meghan wears she looks great, she has not only good taste but wears her clothes with superb chic.
ReplyDeleteAva
wonderful outfit, definatly. Suits her good. Her makeup is lovely as always, she has a good style there.
ReplyDeletebut.. she's very skinny (a great difference especially when we look at older pics). Ankles, arms, breast.. I get the feeling, Megxit didn't solve her/their problems.
Did you see that akward video with the other lady in white? .....
References to weight are out of line. Her weight is fine. She is known to be a healthy eater and exercises regularly. The reason she had differences in her weight was due to giving birth, twice. Both times, she took a very responsible approach to losing her baby weight. Calling out what you perceive to be weight issues, whether overweight or under weight, is rude.
DeleteAu contraire anonymous, I don’t find the comment rude or out of line; just someone observing that Meghan looks skinny. This dress design does reveal a lot of upper body and it doesn’t flatter her at all; can make her look skinnier. I don’t think it looks good on the model pictured either, who also looks too skinny - probably due to the halter neck. Perhaps a simple sleeveless dress and flat shoes would have been more flattering., (Grace)
DeleteTo Anon 19 58, You make a generalisation. Others, like me, do not think it rude. Weight and height impact on how we appear as does hairstyle. Then we consider clothes
DeleteHer weight is not of our concern. There are other famous ladies (royal too) that are skinny, but we do not give comments on that on a fashion site. It is very delicate before you know it you are in the category of body shame.
DeleteRight Meghan is skinny. Tell me why never see comments like that about Kate and Letizia. Also please tell what problems they have. Would be enlightening to know.
DeleteSaying that someone looks skinny when looking skinny is not rude, it's a fact. It is a difference if you talk about a fact or if you say something inappropriate rude like 'her skinny bones look like *think about something bad, I don't wanna write such things*.
DeleteAnd true, Letizia and Kate also are too skinny in some parts of their lifes. There is a difference between skinny and too skinny and between having a bit more weight or having overweight. Just the fact to say is not rude. But for people with real problems it's a great way to stop people talking about real concerns when you try to declare them all as rude. But someone should tell you. And I say tell. Not more, not less.
I like this dress very much, it's unique but for me the character of the dress suit shoes like on the model.
ReplyDeleteThe dress is nice although in the one photo the light makes it appear transparent which I find a bit ackward
ReplyDeleteI love Delfina's dress and hat. That orange color makes me happy and looks great on her. Perfect dress for the polo.
ReplyDeleteChel
I agree, very nice orange colour!
DeleteI am not a big fan of Harry and Meghan but I think she looks lovely in this dress. She has the perfect figure for it.
ReplyDeleteI love love love Delfina’s dress, and her hat. She’s a very attractive lady.Mind you her husband is a very handsome man!
ReplyDeleteThe dress suits Meghan’s colouring and the top is well fitting, though the skirt seems very wide. She looks so like the Duchess of Windsor did.
ReplyDeleteSo glad she is finally free to wear bold bright colors again.
ReplyDeleteHonestly, I am having a hard time differentiating between royal unassuming cream and personal style bold cream.
Ha!!
DeleteNow that story again about the color off-white or crème or ivory you name it. This color was and is a fashion color since last summer (2023). Everybody has the right to wear this color, royal or not. Wearing this color does not mean we cannot wear other bright colors at the same time. Besides sometimes we like a color so much that we buy several clothes in the same color and then all of a sudden we cannot see that color any more and we start all over with other colors like pink, grass green, yellow, orange, etc...
DeleteEvery one is free to wear the colors that he/she likes. We are (still) living in a free world.
Ah, the color comment. A go-to when wanting to say something negative, but can't find anything really wrong. It has no effect on regular readers of this blog. At least be original if you want to get a rise out of us. This is like reading the first page of the same book over and over again. Super boring.
DeleteSomething tells me that Duchess Meghan has worn on at least one other occasion a creation by the fashion designer/creator, Heidi Merrick.
ReplyDeleteShe is 100% California.
Below is an article about this designer which is titled ........
“Her collections Are All About Quintessential California Minimalism.
https://www.apparelnews.net/news/2022/dec/01/heidi-merricks-collections-are-all-about-quintesse/
Happy reading.
J adore sa tenue. Elle est sublimissime
ReplyDeleteFroufrou
No matter what she wears, it never fits her well. This outing is solely for the benefit of Netflix, very staged.
ReplyDeleteMy third comment because I find the constant criticism frustrating. This Polo match was to raise money for Sentebale. That is a very worthy cause, and something that Harry and his friend have arranged for several if not many years as a fundraiser. Yes Netflix are there as Harry is doing a programme on polo , but the main reason for the event is Sentebale. Can we not celebrate the amazing work this charity does. LRB
DeleteAgree…she seams to pick outfits that don’t suit her body type. She looks best in unfussy, simple and classic styles…just my opinion.
DeleteThe polo event raised £1m for Sentebale. Surely you can be thankful for that, and the lady who Meghan was trying to usher to the centre of the photo is the amazing CEO of the Charity and Meghan wanted her front and centre. ( please find the photo for yourselves so you can see her right in the centre holding the trophy. )You can of course choose not to like the Sussex’s but please appreciate the work this amazing charity does, and Harry AND Meghan bring the interest, be it good or bad. LRB
DeleteDon't care much for the outfit, nice color yes. These heels are way too high for the Polo field, maybe she should have opted for flats.? css
ReplyDeleteDelfina was dressed for watching polo on a hot, sunny day. Megan Markle was dressed for performing for Netflix. More than surprised she was allowed to wear stiletto heals on a polo field.
ReplyDeleteDelfina looks so nice, I am not sure what Megan is wearing. Imhotep called, he wants his gauze back.
ReplyDeleteImhotep,I had to google! 😂
DeleteLowri.
Great comment
DeleteI do not care for the open triangular area on the front of the dress. Flats like shown on the model might have been better than stilettos. I like the cream color for this setting.
ReplyDelete-Royal Watcher
Rachel and Harry are not royals, so covering them, is really a bad thing for this blog. I rarely comment, because the 'regulars' say the same things over and over, and the blog admin, censors posts that are not positive towards this pair who have done nothing positive for royals, but instead have hurt them personally. See if this comment gets posted. Geri
ReplyDeleteGive it a rest. This bs is getting old. They are just as much royals as Eugenie, Bea and Zara.
DeleteGeri, Harry is the son of our reigning monarch ergo he is royal. Give your hate a rest. The blog writer covers many working and non working royals as is her right. Harry has done a lot of positive things for the world… Sentebale which is the beneficiary of the polo, Invictus, and a charity I support which is UK based and Harry continues to be involved in is WellChild.
Delete@Geri How I wish your accusation about Helen, the owner/blog administrator was true. If the comments that were unsupportive of the Sussexes were censored or banned, this would be a more pleasant experience for those of us that want to discuss fashion without having to wade through hateful comments. Alas, you have managed to post another common lie that haters love to repeat just to have something to say and see how much of a response you can get. Be original.
DeleteHmmm can't see you had a problem when Helen shared an event with Eugenie. Weired hah
DeleteRachel is a pushy woman - https://www.thesun.co.uk/royals/27311485/meghan-markle-tells-woman-pose-prince-harry/
ReplyDeleteI dislike this dress. No to the fabric. The style of this dress Imo doesn't suit the shape of the Duchess. The style, I dont' like at all. The color is bland. The shoes, I dislike.
ReplyDeleteI love the re floral jumpsuit, the fit is perfect. I'm not sure who the lady is. Love her hat, and shoes are much more practical, but look fabulous. Her hubby (I think he is her hubby) is a very attractive man.
She has no knowledge on how to dress for a polomatch, high heels look ridiculous …the dress is ok but she always looks frumpy
ReplyDelete@Greet You've obviously never attended a society polo fundraiser like this one to know what the celebrities in attendance wear. This isn't your local weekend 'chips and bovril' match as you seem to think. Furthermore, the amount of walking on grass is minimal for the ladies watching. They spend most of their time in the clubhouse or viewing gallery where heels are very appropriate if they want to wear them.
Delete- Anon 9:13
No comment for a woman who is not royal, has caused a great deal of pain to QE, her husband, her father in law, and the rest of the royal family. Should not be featured on this blog, unlike The Princess Royal who has worked her entire life time for the royal family, and is hardly ever seen doing her numerous duties day in and day out, far out pacing the rest of the royals in appointments done each day of the year.
ReplyDelete... aaand yet, you comment.
DeleteStrange that the Princess Royal did not want her children to have the title of prince or princess.
Delete@ Anonymous 15/4 13:35
DeleteIf you like it or not this woman is a royal since she is the wife of a prince.
There are more royal ladies who were not royal before they married a prince.
@ 13:35, and yet here you are, with a very long comment. Virtue signaling, and passing judgment about people that you do not know, and about situations that you can’t possibly have any information other than the garbage that the tabloids write, and some are just happy to spread the rumors .
DeleteCherry
Princess Royal is female and couldn't even if she wanted to give her kids the title. Only a man's child automatically gets the Princess or princess title. They can chose like Andrew to give it to them or like Edward not to.
DeleteAnne was given the choice to title her children, and she refused the titles. She was wise. With titles come great burdens. Peter and Zara have publicly said they are thankful not to have titles. Their lives have been their own and they are happy.
DeleteI bet if Meghan had been wearing the orange jumpsuit of Delfina and Delfina Meghan's off white dress, the comments would be in favor of Delfina too. When the royals are walking on the grass of Ascot or the grounds (with grass) where the annual tea-party's take place they would applaud the high heels even if they disappear into the grass.
ReplyDelete@Anon 13:56 Very true. Your assessment is spot on.
Delete- Anon 9:13
Exactly! The first fault would be that it shows too much chest.
DeleteEnvy is a disease.
ReplyDeleteAgree 100% LRB
DeleteAbsolutely gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThe hate and lack of decency we see here is astonishing. Good grief, get a life, people. Anne.
ReplyDeleteThis is actually very funny: commenting on a lack of decency then telling people to “get a life”. Ha! I’m not sure which people you’re commenting on but I for one find it fascinating who ends up commenting on a Meghan post: these posts definitely bring out the most negativity and the most commenters telling others they’re wrong for having opinions. Quite entertaining if you don’t let yourself get upset for a stranger telling you to get a life! (Grace)
DeleteNot liking an outfit is certainly not hate,it’s having a differing opinion.People are allowed to express a respectful differing opinion, without being called ‘hateful’ If you’re so offended by a differing opinion it might help not to read them,or find a site that only covers that particular royal.Gweni.
DeleteI agree 100%. Darja
DeleteIt's pretty see through where the hate is and where the dislike over a dress is. So agree completely.
Delete@19:51 I doubt the blog administrator would allowed published a ‘hateful’ comment!
DeleteI think it beyond hurtful and disrespectful that those with a differing opinion are labelled as ‘hateful’.Surely as fashion lovers we can agree to disagree repectful of each others opinion? Gweni. x
There is a difference between a fashion critique and adding in personal jabs that have nothing to do with clothing. The line is crossed repeatedly where Meghan is concerned. People come out of the woodwork when she is featured just to say how much they dislike what she wears. Another royal can wear something similar or the same, and there is not a word against it. The Cartier Love Bracelet is one thing that comes to mind. The first time she was spotted wearing hers, this community was up in arms. Never was there one word said about all the other royal ladies who own and wear them. At least be honest. The "opinions" stated here are not always unbiased. In some cases, the person wearing the clothing has everything to do with the harsh words that are stated.
DeleteSo an example of such ‘hate’ would be what? I believe there needs to be a clear line.In your opinion what words are used as hateful?
DeletePeople can say I like the dress but not the hair..!
Or I don’t like this look it’s not my favourite look..
These are comments I put on other royal ladies. I don’t think that critique is hateful in anyway!
Anon 21:32. Perfect, just perfect. Great comment. I wish those nasty commenters would take your words to heart, but I know, it's not gonna happen. Again, thank you for being the voice of reason.
DeleteAnon 22:49. Do read Anons 21:32 comment, word by word, it can't be said any better.
DeleteUnfortunately I’m none the wiser. I will to continue to comment on what I like and dislike. Though it’s not so much what you say as how you say it. A lot can be lost in translation or words can be misconstrued.
DeleteI find it unnecessary to call people hateful, for a differing opinion. We can’t all like the same thing. We should be allowed to say so. I don’t know why people get so upset about comments on someone you don’t know. It always seems to be about DoS.
It’s a fact that she’s not always a clear winner, but then who is?
Until someone says something detrimental or uncouth or breaks the blog rules, all comments should be allowed without the ramifications of name calling! Lowri.
I am generally not a fan of her and her actions in the last years but I like this dress and she looks great. Not sure about the shoes though, flat shoes would have been more suited for a polo field.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! This event was two miles from my house! Very exciting to have
ReplyDeletethem in town for polo and the filming of their new series on our polo fields!
The sugars are out in full force in this blog.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love this dress, specially the back, it so reminds me of good “ old glamour”.
ReplyDeleteI think she looks fabulous, healthy and fit. I would have worn espadrilles with this outfit, but of course that would taken the dress to a much more casual look, I think she wanted to make a little dressier, perhaps be a use they were filming for their series. I also find Harry very attractive in his polo uniform.
Regards
Cherry Blossom
Dress a bit tacky;bandages;no lady would wear this.Apparently her behavior left a lot to be desired. Not everything is about her.I like the big hat the other lady is wearing;the colour of her outfit is good. The chaps look okay (Tara)
ReplyDeleteYou might be surprised what a "lady" sometimes wear. But of course a lot of ladies are forgiven as long as their name is not Meghan or "Rachel", her new name given by the haters.
DeleteHi Anonymous 7:16. Meghan’s first name is Rachel and in the Queen’s official agreement to their marriage she is named as Rachel Meghan Markle. (Grace)
Delete@Grace We all know what Meghan's given name is, just as we all know what Harry's given name is. What is your point? We all know why her given name is being used. It is not meant to be a compliment.
DeleteWow, 86 comments already! A lot about a woman who, however, many do not want to see here 😄.
ReplyDeleteI think she looks great in that beautiful dress. And yes, for me she looks a real lady - what in earth does even "a lady" mean?
All those four look fabulous but Meghan's heels surely a bit too high imo. But if she feels comfortable in those it's ok for me.
Hi Just Me,
DeleteI agree with everything you wrote.
I like the dress! She wore it better than the model. would expect different shoes for a polo match though … The earrings are just okay. Overall, she looks good, so it’s a yes from me.
ReplyDeleteAnon 19:22
I like the dress, I only wish it didn't have that opening in the front. Otherwise she looks great. I think this is one of those dresses that don't do well in motion because in photos 3 and 4 she looks great and the dress looks great on her, but in the rest of the photos the dress does indeed not look good. I like her make up as always, and her hair - I just wish she would abondon these middle parts and do more side parts, they suit her best. And I wish she had worn some form of a hat to protect her skin from the sun.
