Bally Logo Buckle Belted Wool Jacket
The Bally jacket is a no for me, wear a proper uniform, skip the faux military look. The lady in beige with the fringe skirt and boots not very becoming. The British sure do love their boots.
ReplyDeleteNice jacket, other than it looking a bit too military for the occasion.

Agree !!
Deleteit was the year 1945 at the end of World War 2, this was the trend
ReplyDeleteI have a lot of pictures of my mother from the period 1940-1947. Lucky she never wore a military look. Besides I think she saw enough uniforms for the rest of her life. She always told me that she had a lot clothes before the war started and that she was lucky to have then when there was no money or means anymore to buy new clothes. She wore her clothes until long after I was born.
DeleteI like this outfit.Perfect for an outdoor event. The skirt looks nice with the tan colored boots. As always Duchess Sophie is engaged and enjoying the days events. Lowri.
ReplyDeleteLove the Duchess, not a fan of the outfit. The navy colour suits Duchess Sophie and jacket with trousers might have been okay but looks odd with the long skirt. i agree it has the feeling of a uniform
ReplyDeleteI love this jacket on the Duchess.

Ce style de veste boutonnée sur cette longue jupe me fait penser à un uniforme ; peut-être qu'en enlevant cette grosse boucle, son allure serait meilleure !
ReplyDeleteLook at the other attendees, what the D of E is wearing is appropriate. Her focus is on the event she is not drawing attention to herself. I do like what she is wearing, very 'country' and elegant.
ReplyDeleteThe Duchess has a good nose for quality and quiet fashion.
DeleteBally is a longstanding, 100% Swiss fashion house famous for its quiet luxury and clients known as “old money”.
Created about 170 years ago, it has a rich heritage in shoemaking, handbags and leather goods.
Of recent years, it has moved into ready-to-wear ladies and mens clothing.
p.s. In my younger years when I had money to throw around, I bought a pair of Bally shoes. They were verrrrry expensive but much admired.
p.p.s in their ladies shoe range, they have fashion shoes with a “sensible” heel for the more mature lady.
Maybe Camilla could take a look at their catalogue.
They have a shop in Regent Street London.
A long time ago I bought a pair of "Bally" shoes in Brussels. I don't know if the shop still exists. I didn't know the brand designs clothes too. Anyway I wouldn't wear a military looking jacket myself. I prefer to leave it for the military.
ReplyDeleteIt is strange on picture N°4 Sophie's skirt is long on the ankles and on pictures N° 5 and 6 it is shorter. I like her red/brown boots. The lady with the raffia skirt on picture N° 6 looks odd.
Thx deadeggs for the information which answers all my questions.

Sophie is elegant, no matter the occasion. Her outfit is casual, yet elegant.
ReplyDeleteEdwina
Not her best outfit. The jacket might be just too much regardless of choice for bottoms.

Like the jacket a lot, not so much the rest of it. css
