I like the outfit and, as usual Queen Mathilda looks good. However, not sure that I’m a fan of the all one colour trend as we’ve seen several times this week. The only relief from pale blue is the shoes. Fab shoes, of course, but another spot of contrasting colour would help. Also think that a jacket/coat/cape improves all blouse/trousers (or skirt) looks. True also of Queens Mary & Letizia this week.

This pastel blue is a very nice colour for QM. I really love the picture taken from the side where she is sitting. I do think the top (and whole outfit) would have looked better with a more open neck, it would have opened up the silhouette. But overall this is a surprising choice that works quite well.

She usually doesn't wear handbags this big, this is a very unusual but beautiful model.

The light blue is a nice change for all the pink she wore during the last days.
The fitting of the blouse and the trousers is good. Shoes and handbag are chosen well. Her earrings are by Carolina Herrera. Queen Mathilde is a busy lady for the moment.

I'm not a fan of the queen's hairstyle today. I do love this outfit on her though.

    1. Contrary to you I like this hairstyle, looks natural to me. I think her hair goes naturally to this styling.

  6. Tenue monochrome très printanière qui va très bien à la reine Mathilde ; je suis ravie qu'elle ne porte pas de noeud Lavallière sur son haut que je vois ras du cou !

Mathilda's outfit reminds me of pajamas.
The blouse is not bad, I think it would work in combination with a dark blue or black skirt or pants, but not with these light blue pants of the same color.
But after writing a comment, I noticed the tag: Natan. So that explains it. I have not yet to see a dress from Natan that I consider pretty.

I do not agree with you. If Queen Mathilde wears a dress from another designer you are also always finding all kind of things. The monochromatic look is something that aristocratic ladies have done in the old days too. In the meantime it found its way in fashion in general. If you are going to town where all the shops are you will find the monochromatic look everywhere, as well in the better boutiques with high quality goods as in the big fashion stores. Don't forget Queen Mathilde has two daughters, I can imagine what they might say to their mother about what is fashion and which color she should wear.

I see your point Stephanie! - elegant and very expensive, but those trousers are fairly pyjama like (in part due to the width, in part to fabric and colour) - and to have chosen a contrasting colour would have helped move the outfit towards day time. I also agree re Natan - I think once I have seen a royal wearing a Natan garment I thought lovely but for the greatest part I do not understand the appeal of this designer. In my opinion Mathilde herself always looks beautiful regardless of the designs she showcases! (Grace)

I do not deny that "the monochromatic look is something that aristocratic ladies have done in the old days". It is quite possible that many people like clothes from Natan. I say that I don't like it. I may be in the minority with my opinion, but I honestly said it. Let's close it like this: you like it, I don't - and I've made my arguments.

The blue is flattering, but maybe a patterned blouse,to break the block coloring, would be better.

I think Mathilde looks really good in this outfit. It accentuates all her positives and the colour is quite beautiful.

This outfit is very flattering to QM's tall figure!

  12. I don´t mind the monochrome look, and I think that the trousers are nice. The blouse is actually quite attractive without the bow/ribbon. The problem with this outfit is the clashing materials for me. The silky blouse doesn´t work with the trousers and the difference in textures are very evident when they are in the same colour.
I would keep the trousers and combine them with a dark blue blouse or keep the blouse and combine with dark blue or white trousers.

If you look at the picture of Natan's publicity you can read that the blouse is made of poplin. The fabric of the pants is not mentioned. I cannot see a big difference between the color of the blouse and the color of the pants. There is also something one can see regularly in todays fashion : a difference in materials like shiny combined with matte for example. (Faux) Leather combined with woven wool, metallic fibers combined with crepe or wool, etc... always as monochromatic as possible. I see this trend since the last 3 or 4 years. Some people are not in for new things, some are always the first to try something new. What I like about todays fashion is that I can find always something that corresponds with what I like yet is up to date.... It has not always been like that. Now there is so much choice. I can always find something in which I look good.

      @ Vanessa
What you suggest dark blue combined with light blue or light blue with white is so passé. Not up to date at all.
