    Stunning! MR

  2. Le style de ce chapeau se combine bien avec ce long manteau ceinturé ; quelques petits centimètres en moins permettraient de mieux voir ses bottes en cuir souple !

Beautiful coat and hat. I don´t think the boots look good with the coat. Wrong colour and the very high heels look odd on a marching ground.

I agree about the boots…a dark colour with lower heels would have been better. The coat might have to be shortened a bit too. (V.M.)

  4. I am not terribly fond of this outfit. Too dark, not flattering IMV.

The same sad eyes as Charlene.
I love the coat and the boots but with lower heels. Nice she wants to combine something different, defiantly prefer the boots instead of the glasses then she looks like a teacher.

      About Queen Mary's eyes:
do you have a clue about what the " Citadel" is and the purpose of this visit?
Is she supposed to chuckle, burst out laughing or what?
      Just curious...
Her outfit is very appropriate for the occasion including the boots as she is not expected to march or do any other form of military training there.

    2. Perhaps she is wearing contact lenses, that can be the reason for what you are calling "sad eyes". I was never used to wear contact lenses, they were hurting my eyes and made me look like I had been crying. Lovely coat, the boots not so.

Sad eyes - yes, but the danish text says that the celebration was kind of somber as one of the guards died. There was a minute of silence and Queen Mary mentioned the incident in her speech. So she could not smile from ear to ear on this occasion, could she?

-Anna-. A female member of the Home Guard died from a heart attack while on active duty during the night. A minute of silence was observed in her honor.

I mean her inner glow is gone, she looks if she is wearing a mask.

She could still purse her lips despite the somber occasion.

From abother Anna. Can we please stop thinking we have any clue what goes on inside another human beings head based on a photo. Sad eyes..geeses.

    8. Queen Mary has never been a big smile person like Queen Máxima or the Princess of Wales. Not everyone is. You really can't tell what is going on inside from their public presentation on, as several have pointed out, a somber occasion.

I do not care for the style of hat or the boots with this outfit. I do like the coat and the burgundy accent on the hat.

Not good: bad combination with the boots, and hat and hair too informal for the occasion. Where is the perfect Mary we used to see?

Disheveled? Ha ha. Mary’s hair appears perfectly coiffed; but even if it weren’t, let’s just imagine, wouldn’t it be lovely if she were allowed a few hairs out of place, being human and all?! (Grace)

Quen Mary looks elegant and wonderful here--I love her coat and hat. Not sure I would have chosen taupe-colored boots with what appears to be an all navy outfit but they look fine. I think she is perfectly dressed for a somber occasion, especially with the sudden death of a Home Guard member the evening before.

  17. Beautiful coat. The hat complements it nicely. I like chunky heels on boots but the shade seems a bit off.

QueenM's new hairstyling team may need more time to determine flattering styles for her.

  18. Perfect!! I love the cut, color, and length of this coat. The burgundy stripe on her hat and the beige boots add a bit of contrast to the navy blue. Gloves match the coat accordingly. Very appropriate look for this solemn event. Queen Mary looks elegant and beautiful.
