On March 21, 2024, King Frederik, Queen Mary and Princess Benedikte attended the opening of the exhibition "Frederik X: King of Tomorrow" at the Amalienborg Museum in Christian VIII’s Palace. The Amalienborg Museum holds the exhibition to mark the historical succession of the Danish throne that took place on January 14.
Through photographs, objects, video clips, paintings and sound, the exhibition paints a portrait of the new King of Denmark. At the exhibition, the objects that are directly related to the events and decisions that played a role in shaping the King as a person and as a monarch are being displayed.
Among the items on display are the heavy beam, nicknamed ‘Maren’, that The King had to dig out from under when he completed his Frogman training, Queen Mary’s wedding gown, King Frederik X’s naval dress uniform and the King’s first schoolbag.

ReplyDeleteLovely too see the first love gift!
ReplyDeleteI found that so strange. A dress is a strange present to bring to your new girl friend. Also it is black and the public has never seen Mary wear it. .
Delete10.23 thanks for sharing your opinion. Given your feeling towards it, I’m much relieved he gave it to Mary and not to you. (Susan)
DeleteThe gorgeous wine suede boots enliven what would otherwise be a rather dull outfit. Lovely classy look, though, again, I feel the skirt would look better if a few inches shorter.
ReplyDeleteThe HB white blouse looks exceptionally lovely with the black skirt. The wine colored boots, oh divine! just the right choice to add a splash of color and overall a very chic and stylish look. Love the pearl earrings. The colored clutch looks fabulous.
ReplyDeletePss Bene, the purple skirt and blouse (I think its a skirt) fabulous. Combined with the burgundy jacket (think its burgundy color) beautiful combination. She really knows how to dress well and elegantly, she never fails to impress.
100% agree with everything you say.

M stylist is good!
DeleteVery lovely and stylish. css
ReplyDeleteI hope I can see properly, but I think Frederik looks more elegant than before. His suit looks new and smart, I like the transformation, perhaps he had no choice.

Yes, I agree he looks much more professional than before. I think Mary is going toward a more edgy style.
DeleteI think a shorter skirt, maybe even a pencil cut, would have been a better pairing, especially to show off the suede boots.
ReplyDeletewhy are mary and fred's skin tones suddenly so different? She looks 'flawless' in every photo, he looks like a normal man.
ReplyDeleteLighting in some photos are different. QMary is a woman that has natural beautiful skin. Look at and enlarge last photo, she does have wrinkles
DeleteM has lots of make-up!
DeleteLots of make up along with lots of photoshop!
DeleteThat contrast is common in male-female couples. I put it down to most women wearing makeup when at events. (I don't, but I'm practically non-binary.)
DeleteFantastic boots on Mary and love Benedikte’s colorful purple and red outfit. She is, as usual, all class and elegance.
ReplyDeleteI like Mary’s blouse with the skirt very much. I also like the color and material of her boots, but do not care for how high up on her legs the boots go.

At last a better fitting suit for F but he still has to go to the barber!

DeleteKing Frederik has been trying to “up his act” with his suits since he became King.
His suits are not yet perfect, but he’s on the right road.
He just has to accept that he doesn’t have the same athletic figure he enjoyed 20 years ago.
Can’t tell you how many seams around the waist I’ve had to let out on my dresses over the past 20 years.
It’s the price I pay for my addiction to double layer chocolate cake.
Yum, cake!
