During Art Camp MBO, sixty students attend workshops in photography, theater, dance, music and cartoon drawing.

I almost always dislike the Natan clothes royal ladies are wearing. And Erdem. Just dreadful.

  2. L'association de cette veste ceinturée sur une large jupe convient à merveille à Maxima ; j'aime beaucoup le style de ses bottes dont le cuir me paraît souple !

Another messy hair day, sad to see a Queen with such horrible hair, when she is beyond wealthy to have a hairdresser, or buy a tie back, which we know she owns. Photos 4 and 6 show the extent of the issue. Clothing, a non issue when the hair is the first thing one sees. Anne

    1. I agree with you completely Anon 20:39.
Maxima could afford to have her hair styled by a hairdresser before every engagement.
As other bloggers have suggested it is time for a decent haircut.

Love seeing Maxima again after a while, and her outfit looks great on her. Not to mention her warm and winning smile.

She is so genuine and approachable! It’s not her fault she has thinning hair, but a low bun would have looked more polished. I just love her sitting on stage with students. Maxima is a gem! MR

    2. Even with all Queen Max's "fashion" lumps and bumps, I just love her to death.
Wish she was my neighbour. I'd be party time 24/24 😁

I like Maxima’s purse with the interesting handle, but that’s about it. Her hair looking so consistently disheveled when she is not at formal events is perplexing to me. In these pictures, the hair of pretty much everyone else around her looks significantly better.

I really like Maxima but not her messy hair. Yes, I know that’s often the complaint about her but a good haircut, perhaps a shoulder length bob like Letizia would suit her well.

You forget that Queen Letizia has a better hair quality and also thicker hair than Queen Maxima. A shorter bob would not have the same effect on Maxima. To me the only thing she can do to stop that her hair is thinning is to avoid blond highlights (very bad to apply when you have already hair problems). Of course can you imagine Maxima with darker and shorter hair ? Her complete image would be gone.

I agree, a short or long bob with her hair type won't work. And it's not just the blond highlights that do damage and cause thinning. I think it's also hormones. It's a delicate subject, but I recognize the hair problems: normal in twenties/thirties, great during pregnancies, and disaster during menopause. I have the very same problem and no amount of styling products seem to help longer then an hour.

True, maybe her hair quality isn’t like Letizia’s but there are hairstyles for thinning hair that might work?

I know I have similar problems. With my hair it began in the menopause period. My dermatologist said that in my case it was a combination of loosing hormones, hereditary thinning hair, etc... The treatment that she proposed worked and still does but it is a treatment one must apply very carefully. It is a pharmaceutical hair lotion you must apply every day in the beginning, later on when you see it works you can do it less frequently. I also received prescriptions for vitamins to be taken once a day. I still have thick hair. It is short. But the hair loss does not stop. You can control it but when you stop the treatment the hair loss comes back. It is not recommended to do brushings every day either. The heat of the brushing is not very good for hair that is fragile. I can color my hair but highlights I don't do anymore. Every year once in Spring and once in Summer I did highlights. In September or October I discovered I lost more hair than during the rest of the year and it was not because it was Autumn but because of the highlights.

Some of you complain that we always talk about her unkempt hair, she doesn't seem to care so we'll keep on saying it. Her always smiley face doesn't make it look better. Neither does her bad taste in clothes (Natan)

She does not always wear Natan and Natan is not always bad either. We only hear comments when Natan is not that good, but when it is good and nobody knows it is by Natan you here nothing else than good comments. Maybe you will not agree but how do you explain that Queen Maxima as well as Queen Mathilde when they are repeating old(er) dresses and ensembles almost everybody likes it. You just cannot mention that it was made by Natan, because when you do that all of a sudden the bad comments start again.

Can those of you here writing mean, anonymous, snarky one-liners about what you hate please refrain? It makes the comment space a nasty place to come, beginning now to ruin the joy others have had here over the longterm . If instead you’d like to express thoughtful comments about fashion, including justified critique, that add something to a group discussion, and adding your name, then you would be welcome. - AnneLise

I actually like this outfit, her hair and as usual she is a beautiful woman. She seems like a warm and likeable person.

I agree Queen Maxima looks great. OK she has fine hair and difficult to manage, so what, do you want her to wear it in a tight bun like CP Victoria? or old fashion style and straw looking like P. Anne. Oops I made a comment on P. Anne's hair, it is a no no in this blog. Give it a rest.

I can´t see if this is a jacket with a skirt or a dress with a sewn fold to make it look as if it is 2 pieces. I like the top part very much and think the skirt could be just a little bit slimmer.

Outfit, no from me. Hair, total disaster again. When will this woman understand that messy hair is not a look one should have for a Queen.

Edwina, I think she probably likes her hair as it is. She has the resources to change it if she wants, but doesn’t very often, so I think she likes it how it is! - AnneLise

The jacket and narrow skirt on the model are nice, but I don't like Maxima's costume with the wide skirt.
Her hair is so messed up that fashion doesn't really matter, the whole outfit is brought down by the hair mess.

Strange when Queen Maxima's hair is done in an up do and she wears her best outfit (not by Natan) and the majority of the comments are positive there is a group of people on this blog who cannot simply say that she is beautiful or that she is wearing a beautiful dress (You belong to that group of people). Lucky Queen Maxima is someone who is smart and intelligent, she probably don't read anymore all what is written about her and her daughters and focus on things that are of bigger importance to her and her work for the Dutch Royal Family and her other work for the UN. Lucky there are still people on this blog and in The Netherlands and elsewhere where ever she goes who can appreciate her laugh, her smile, her friendly eyes looking at everyone with such warmth. I think a lot of people (especially women) are simply jealous of her.
