Queen Mathilde is making a working visit to Ivory Coast from March 3 to 6 in her capacity as UN Advocate for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. On the third day of her visit to Ivory Coast, Queen Mathilde visited the ECAM Cocoa Farmers’ Cooperative Meagui, San-Pedro, Ivory Coast. The Entreprise Cooperative des Agriculteurs de Meagui (ECAM) was created in 2004 on the initiative of 87 cocoa producers, including Assata Doumbia.
On March 5, 2024, Queen Mathilde of Belgium attended a meeting with Ivorian athletes, at the Laurent Poku Stadium in San Pedro, during a royal working visit to Ivory Coast.
Diane von Furstenberg Gigi Cotton Dress in Chartreuse
Both these outfits are a win for Mathilde, for me.
ReplyDeleteI love the lime green DvF dress; it is light, breezy and just right for warm weather...and if Mathilde's version is the same midi length as that shown on the model, I like it even more.
The light coloured safari suit is also very appropriate for the climate and for attending a sporting event. Mathilde's lovely long legs are evident, and it's nice to see her participating with a ball in ways many might never do. Brava!

Beautiful dress and she can wear this poisonous green colour. I do not like the safari style jacket. Too boxy.
ReplyDeleteShe’s lovely! When I see her overseas in developing countries and how she seems immersed in the interests of the local populations, I remember that before she knew she’d be princess or queen, she chose speech therapy as career, and I think her desire to help people is reflected on her face in these photos too. - AnneLise
ReplyDeleteRavissante Mathilde dans ce nouveau modèle de robe vert chartreuse dont le coton est idéal pour aller sous ce climat chaud ; j'aurais bien aimé voir ses chaussures !
ReplyDeleteQueen Mathilde when she was a young girl went as a back pack tourist to Africa or Asia or she went abroad helping organizations like the red cross. I think it is something you have in you to help poor people in need. Apparently she has it. I read that a Belgian dredging company is trying to restore the damage that is done by erosion to the island she has been visiting.
ReplyDeleteI like her in this green dress by Diane von Furstenberg. During this whole trip to Africa she was dressed very well. She can repeat the new outfits during Summer holidays if she wants to.
Lovely dress!
ReplyDeleteNever thought I once would see Mathilde playing football: surprising lady!
You know, part of my school years were spent in the country at a small catholic school for girls and boys.
DeleteAll the teachers were nuns.
With the boys, there was always a football in the playground.
I enjoyed kicking the ball around with the boys.
I don’t know how many times I was call to the head nun’s office to be told time and time again “a young lady never raises her leg to a football”
As punishment, I had to write this rule 100 times in my school book. Can’t remember how many school books I filled up with this rule.
Makes me so happy to see Queen Mathilde having a good time kicking around with a football.
That head nun would turn in her gravee if she saw Queen Mathilde kicking a football.
deadeggs, I love this story! Thank you for sharing! ❤️

DeleteShe also showed her basket-ball skills when visiting a couple of years ago the "Belgian Cats" women's national basket-ball team.
Deadeggs, enjoy these pictures!
DeleteIf it had been possible to play girl-football in my youth I certainly would have joined too!

She wears the green dress well, although the dress is not great IMO. Too many details and too much fabric at the bottom. I love the tan separates and sneakers for the sports visit. Well tailored and fit to her, and I like her hair in that style as well.
ReplyDeleteHer hair had suffered the day before when she did a lot of visits. She had to wear a sun hat. At the end of the day her hairdo was completely gone because of the heat and humidity. As it was the last day of her visit, I think she just did it a bit herself or asked one of the ladies in waiting, who accompanied her on this trip, to help her.
DeleteGreat story deadeggs.
DeleteThanks for sharing.
Now that the rest of the pictures has been added, I must say I prefer her in the dress by ba&sh, she wore the day before. This green dress however is not bad either. A bit shorter and with wedges or sandals (with higher heels), it would be prettier.
ReplyDeleteQueen Mathilde did not change her shoes probably because her feet are a bit swollen and she prefers to keep on this other pair of loafers. These off-white loafers travelled with her on other occasions like last year to Bangladesh.
There are videos of her visit to the women's football club where she was invited to shoot penalty's. To do so she wore the same linen jacket, cotton pants and Veja sneakers when she and King Philippe went last Summer on inspection on the highest floor on the outside of the Royal Palace to admire the work that was already done.
To me Queen Mathilde was dressed very good and lovely on each day of her working visit. I have read that she received excellent comments in all the news papers of the European countries (U.K. included).
Nice and comfortable css
ReplyDeleteMathilde looks so good in this green dress! I like it very much. Also the trouser suits looks good in her, makes her very slim.
ReplyDeleteLove the vibrant green dress--and the style is beautiful for Queen Mathilde. She looks wonderful. I also love that she's jumping in with the soccer group--not every day you get to kick the ball about with a Queen! The sporty outfit looks good on Mathilde too. I think she's having great visit and I hope her work and high profile can help support the causes she's supporting.

I kind of like the dress, the colour on the other hand is a no. The suit I don't like. Linen is always to much I have slept in it, so never a fan of linen clothes.
ReplyDeletePhoto N°10 : fashion for "Out of Africa".
ReplyDeleteNow that the working visit is over, I think Queen Mathilde is happy she can return to Brussels. On the video of the visit to the cocoa cooperative enterprise one can see that she is really suffering from the heat. Each time the camera turns away from her she is wiping her face with her hands and is blowing air in her own face.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to know more about the Cooperative. There is a big problem in the cocoa industry with child labor, sometimes unpaid, and many of the chocolate companies have dragged their feet for years about dealing with it. The website of the Cooperative is overwhelmed right now, but I hope they are one of the groups working to right that wrong.
ReplyDeleteThe biggest problem of the cocoa cooperation for the moment is the climate change : too much rain when it shouldn't, not enough rain when the cocoa trees need water, diseases caused by insects that are eating the roots under the ground, etc... In short time you will see that the price of chocolates will become higher and higher. If you can, best buy a provision of pure chocolate you can conserve a long time.
DeleteBoth outfits look excellent to me. Well done, QM.
