On Tuesday afternoon, March 19, Princess Margriet of the Netherlands opened the 75th edition of the international flower exhibition Keukenhof in Lisse. It has been 75 years since the flower exhibition was first opened to the public. In 75 years, the Keukenhof has grown into an international attraction.
Keukenhof, also known as the Garden of Europe, is one of the world's largest flower gardens, situated in the municipality of Lisse. The Keukenhof park opened in 1950.
The anniversary season ended with an open-air concert given by the Metropole Orchestra at the Keukenhof Estate. During the opening period of almost eight weeks, 1.4 million people from all over the world visit the flower exhibition.
I can see the link with the visit for the hat, however I find it rather ridiculous.
ReplyDeletePimpante et délicieuse princesse Margriet quand elle porte des couleurs vives comme le rouge et le blanc mais là, je trouve que ses boucles d'oreilles sont de trop. J'aimerais bien la voir plus souvent !
ReplyDeleteHow nice to see Princess Margriet again. She does not do many visits anymore as a working royal. She is not young anymore either. I would like to see her in full length. Lovely coat and shawl. Hat is a bit odd. I love the last picture of the windmill decorated with flowers.
ReplyDeletePrincess Margriet has just celebrated her 81st birthday.
DeleteThe red jacket/coat is lovely and the gorgeous hat elevates the outfit to from a routine one. I love that the older royal ladies like Princess Margriet, Princess Benedikte, Princess Beatrix, Queen Margrethe attend functions formally dressed, so that the people who wait to see them can appreciate that they have made an effort. And good on Queen Maxima in particular for doing the same
ReplyDeleteHow nice to see Princess Margriet! She looks wonderful in her red and white ensemble but do agree her hat is a bit over the top even for a flower exhibition. From what I can see the gardens and the flowers are beautiful.

Nice to see her again. She blends right in with the tulips. css
ReplyDeleteThe red jacket and accompanying scarf, certainly add color. She looks lovely, though the hat is a bit over the top LOL! regardless wonderful to see her out and about. She adds brightness and cheer.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if the hat came from Queen Max's spring clean out?
DeleteThe season of spring warms my heart to see all the colours and gay-ness.
I thought it was Mrs Potts;the flower pot lady, her hat matches the flowers.Magriet looks lovely,I do like tulips (Tabby)
