This week, Princess Madeleine attended a meeting on child safety with parents from The Miami Lakes Middle School, and School Counselors from throughout Miami Dade County. The meeting was about how to improve child safety on social media and internet platforms.
Princess Madeleine of Sweden shared a photo from the meeting and the following message: "The internet enables innovative ways to both empower and reach out children with support, knowledge, and tips for safeguarding themselves online. Yet, it is an environment where perpetrators are constantly finding new ways to reach and abuse children. Therefore, evolving our strategies to combat child sexual abuse effectively is crucial. Together with Childhood’s partners we continue to reduce risks and harness the potential of the internet to strengthen child protection. Thank you, Human Trafficking Front, for your crucial efforts in keeping children safe!"
They all look lovely at this yet another 'meeting' that achieved absolutely nothing. What would we do, if there were not all these useless 'meetings' that require shopping for a new outfit. This was another occasion in the category of 'raising awareness' that means nothing. - Ellie
ReplyDeleteWell said 👍
DeleteAre you angry that you had to purchase a new outfit or re-wear one you already had to get nothing from the effort of this meeting. I am happy for you that your children were not sexually exploited, became pregnant, kidnaped, scarred for the rest of their life or even worse murdered. God bless you. I smell a MAGA moment! FITZHUGH
DeleteWell, I don't think that "they all look lovely" - some of them look quite awful, princess Madeleine looks okay.
Delete@anonymous 11:09
DeleteI get what you mean. We don't know what was on the agenda for this meeting, nor what was discussed/decided, who attended, etc... I sometimes also have questions when "raising awareness" is presented as the aim (although I don't think that was the case here?).
On the other hand: sometimes it's about bringing the right people/organisations together to make something happen. As far as I know Childhood is a credible partner in these issues so I gave it the benefit of doubt.
And since Madeleine no longer receives Swedish tax money I believe she can buy as many new outfits as she wants, with or without reason ,-)
I've seen photos of Princess Madeleine's with the white trousers many times before, her jacket looks something you wear to work.
DeleteLovely and professional outfit, nothing to cause your offputting comment. What is wrong in raising awarness to dangers? The more parents and teachers know, the better they can recognize signs when the child has problems and needs adults help.

@Ellie,
Delete@Ellie Your comment seems unnecessary. We have no idea what was discussed or decided during this meeting. Your comment has a political slant to it and this is not the place for such things.
Delete@FITZHUGH Well said.
"Useless" meeting that meant "nothing"...do you really think that women are so useless that they are unable to do anything else but gather together to drink coffee, gossip and show off their "new clothes"??? I know that there are men who think little of women but when other women think so...how sad!
DeleteAs this is a fashion blog, then on fashion note: everyone looks lovely, I especially like Princess Madeleine in blue&white and lady in pink pantsuit. Simple but professional look.

@Ellie - sorry to hear such comment from you. I'm not sure this is directing to the right royals here. Madeleine is quite discreet, we rarely see her and a very few pictures of what she is doing. This is not showing off all the times like some. She leads her own privileged life like many other wealthy people on this planet, hence can spend as she wishes. Besides, her outfits are chic but nothing extravagant to earn such comment.

First time seeing her in flat shoes.
ReplyDeletei thought they moved back to Sweden last year; according to palace statement. i suppose she made networks in Miami.
They never moved. Chris probably refused, at least that's what the press suggest.
DeleteMoving in 2024
DeleteThey keep postponing and pushing, so does not seem like really want to move back. Don't think Chris fancies to live in Sweden, they tried but they rapidely moved to London, then back to the US. Still hope to have a glance of Madeleine's lovely kids from time to time the way she shares. Rosie.
DeleteLa giacca è bella e lei è una donna bellissima, ma le braccia dritte lungo il corpo rendono la foto rigida e impostata. Dovrebbe lasciarsi andare un po' di più
ReplyDeleteThe best dressed on this picture are Princess Madeleine and the lady next to her in the pink pant suit.
ReplyDeleteGreat to see Madeleine! Very summery look. Wish we could get more pictures of her and her family but appreciate she has no obligation the working royals do.
ReplyDeleteNice to see Princess Madeleine adapting her wardrobe and choice of attire to a subtropical climate.
DeleteComme toujours, je trouve que Madeleine sait se vêtir avec beaucoup de goùt ; la robe de la dame à droite de la photo lui sied à ravir !
ReplyDeleteMadelines jacket with soft colors can be used with various outfit. Very pretty on her
ReplyDeleteMadeleine's jacket is a bit too short. Would have looked better in a longer version.
ReplyDeleteEdwina
Yes, agree. Hip length or why not, a blazer.
DeleteNice pant and jacket for Pss Madeleine today, maybe a small heel or wedge would have looked better than the flats. I would say Madeleine and the lady beside her wearing the pink suit are best dressed in that group of people. css

DeletePrincess Madeleine is a tall lady. She can wear flats if she want to. Especially with 7/8 trousers. There are lovely flats by Chanel.
Sorry if I'm too harsh, but she should give some fashion hints to her sister
ReplyDeleteI don’t think there’s a lot of fashion advice/hints someone who lives in a subtropical climate (sun, surf and sea) can give to a woman who lives in a dark, sombre Scandinavian climate with low temperatures and snow.
DeleteI had the same thought.
DeletePetra
They are sisters but seem to have very different personalities and tastes. Both are pretty in their different way. The only bad comment i have on Victoria's style choice is her hairstyle :-( The bun ages her a lot and makes her look a bit severe, fortunately she is a very smiling lady. Laura
DeleteI like the colors of Madeleine’s outfit and the pieces individually, but I don’t think the cropped style jacket looks the most flattering with the top of her pants in this picture.

1. To Ellie": You probably don't work with youth, so you don't know anything about it.
ReplyDelete2. I don't like a single outfit, I don't even like Princess Madeleine's outfit. The pieces she is wearing are nice, but they don't make a good whole. A short jacket (to the waist) is worn with long, wide, elegant trousers or with midi or knee-length skirts. Narrow white 7/8 pants are suitable for long jackets and tunics.

@Stephanie
DeleteOne can assume that this is a Chanel look-a-like jacket. I never saw a picture of Coco Chanel wearing one of her jackets with a wide midi skirt. She wore them with a pleated skirt just under the knee or a bit longer or with a straight skirt just under the knee. When she wore them with pants they were straight or wider and she wore the pants sometimes with a sort of short jumper/sweater in navy style.
Today designers are giving their own interpretation on the subject. There are flats (ballerina's or sling backs) in Chanel style which can be worn with these jackets and skirts or Marlène pants. Princess Madeleine's mother Queen Silvia was wearing nice Chanel flats with a summer dress during her state visit to Mexico. She also have several two pieces by Chanel (or in Chanel style) and wears the skirts always just on or under the knee, but she is shorter than her daughter.
I don't think Princess Madeleine's outfit is bad. Taking into account the warm climate, the short jacket and cotton pants and the flats was not a bad idea. Maybe on another occasion we'll see her with the same jacket and flared pants and high heels who knows.
Princess Madeleine's outfit looks good, its lovely to see a rewear, though the jacket Imo is a bit too short. A longer jacket would have looked more streamlined. Her flat shoes look fabulous.
ReplyDeleteI don't think most of them are trying to look fashionable. They look comfortable and ready to talk about difficult things.
ReplyDeleteCompletely agree with you! This is not a catwalk in a fashion show. The focus is on the topics they are discussing, not their outfits. I think their outfit is fine, not too formal but correct for the meeting. Madeleine is class, never overdone.

Child trafficking is a real problem in Miami so hopefully they are raising awareness and fundraising. Like others said, I like Princess M’s outfit, the pink suit on the lady next to her but i also love the pastel colors of the dress on the lady on the far right.
ReplyDelete@Shinystuffbuff This! Miami is a beautiful but scary place. In fact, it's not just child trafficking, but human trafficking overall. The number of warnings I received when visiting in recent years regarding the hotel alone was startling. So, good for Princess Madeleine for shing a light on the issue and perhaps, for helping make real solutions against this practice. She looks lovely and practical like she attended a meeting where they rolled-up their sleeves and really got to work on real change.

P M is doing a good, important work!
ReplyDeleteDidn't she took over this work about children from her mother Queen Silvia ? I remember when Queen Paola among other queens and first ladies was busy with "Child focus" there was a connection with the work of Queen Silvia's.
ReplyDeleteOne of my favourite princesses ever.
ReplyDeleteVery, very beautiful lady irrispective of what she wears..
Kudos to her - among others- for highlighting and supporting such a worthy cause, which Is what really matters on this post.
