On February 22, Dutch Queen Maxima attended a mini jamboree of Scouting Nederland at the headquarters of the organization Scouting Albert Schweitzer in Woerden. The Albert Schweitzer group was founded in 1966 in Woerden. The complete association consists of around 500 people, making it one of the largest in the Netherlands.
The theme of the meeting was "Young leaders shape the future". It also has a section for children with a mild disability, named "The Birds of Paradise". The visit started with a plenary part, in which some speakers spoke about the theme.
Queen Maxima then participated in campfire discussions with young adult scouts, and administrators and decision-makers from the government, various social organizations and the business community. Queen Maxima is patron of Scouting Netherlands.
Once again - and pretty much as always - Maxima's warm smile and genuine engagement is the star of the day. I'm also loving this trend of winter white/cream/grey colour palette that we have seen both her and Mathilde espouse in recent days. Without the coat, her outfit looks lovely. The soft jacket and turtleneck look so smart and chic, and her trousers look good too. With the coat, her arms should have been in the sleeves as the coat looks too wide/bulky to be worn as a cape. She probably wore it this way because she was either too restricted or too warm by all the layers underneath.

Well said, agree with you.
DeleteVêtue confortablement mais je trouve la couleur un peu trop fade ; pour se combiner avec ses bottes, je pense que la couleur camel aurait mieux convenu !
ReplyDeleteThis beige outfit is in desperate need of a pop of color. I would choose a turtleneck in a bold color - for example, brick red, orange, cinnamon brown, chocolate brown and accessories (boots and handbag) in cognac color - it vould suit with beige.
ReplyDeleteHer hair - that's a lost cause, messy as usual. I say big NOT to earrings - - they are theatrically large. I miss the subtlety and sophistication of her day wear jewelry.
The duchess of Gloucester her turtleneck has the same off-white color as her coat too, but a lot of people on this blog don't even think to make the same comments on her dress style as on Queen Maxima's.
Delete@Anonymous 07:37 i think its because people are used to seeing Maxima in bold colours, and lately she is wearing beige/off white, very unusual. The DoG is rarely seen on the blog
DeleteI love this monochromatic look with soft wools. A great example of quiet luxury style.
DeleteSorry, I think this colour is too pale for her, it washes her out instead of the white she wore yesterday in Middelburg
ReplyDeletetrying to work out why one shade of cream/w2hite looked so much better then another. This is to meh for me and in the initial photos there are too many trailing bits--sleeves, belt, open coat. A contrasting sweater would have been a big improvement.
DeleteNice suit but way too much beige. The coat is nice by itself but all together I would say no. The earrings are too big I think. Well, this is Q Maxima. css
ReplyDeleteNo this is fashion and Queen Maxima wears fashion.
DeleteJ adore cette tenue
ReplyDeleteFroufrou
Qui j'adore cette ensemble aussi
DeleteLove everything. I know this is not old ladies vibes, but fashion perfect.
ReplyDeleteYes I agree.
DeleteWay too much of one colour, earrings far too large, plus the bad hair again (get a good cut), not a good look for a woman who married into a family, became a Queen.

What the family has to do with the way she looks ? Queen Maxima is a fashionista. She follows the trend this Winter to wear a monochromatic look in beige, or white and beige, or off white, you name it.
DeleteOh Edwina, but the positive points of QMax override her (perhaps) negative points with her bubbly personality, mega smile and sincere involvement in her job as the Queen of the Netherlands.
DeleteShe keeps us entertained with her outfits which are either WOW or “oh no”.
She shines with happiness. She makes me feel good because she reminds me that nobody is perfect, including the Queen of the Netherlands
God save the Queen.
In The Netherlands it is "Leve de Koningin".

DeleteI have bad news for you. Just read in a fashion magazine that the monochromatic look continues next spring and summer. Beige, off-white, white, all shades of grey, soft yellow, soft mint green, soft lilac....
If you prefer a bit of contrast, it must come from the accessories :
light grey clothes with a soft yellow handbag..... which can also be worn with beige or white.
The basic colors for basic clothes remain rather dull, but with the advantage that they can be worn in combination with each other and with other classic colors like navy, white, cream, black......
Wonderful !
ReplyDeleteShe looks gorgeous
ReplyDeleteLove her style, it’s dramatic, it’s fun, it’s elegant and she dares! And always happy and looking full of energy! Ac
ReplyDeleteOverall color scheme of 100% oatmeal is too blah. I love the suit but wish the turtleneck was another color--this outfit is screaming for a pop of colot. The suit is beautiful--great styling and fit. The coat was maybe not even necessary by the looks of what others were wearing outside but if it was chilly then she needed another color coat. Sorry but those earrings need to go--QMax has gorgeous real pearls to wear instead of this gaudy pair. Again, toning down the jewelry to just some statement earrings is a great choice but not these earrings. Do wish she'd worn her hair in a ponytail--would have added another sleek touch as well as the sophistication I think was her goal here.

@ Janet.
DeleteTo me she must not change anything. Or do you wish her to look boring too ?
I’m an old lady and I ♥️ this outfit and her earrings too; it’s Maxima’s trendmark as her lovely warm smile.
ReplyDeleteGood, but we see a lot of adults ladies all the time complaine they should wear colour unless it's black. Obviously, it's only used at funerals. Well, this is colour and fashion. Personally, I love using these colours, and I'm 56 😉
DeleteMe too and I am 77.
DeleteMaxima's trademark is her "lovely warm smile" and her terrible hair.
