As part of her activities as an advocate of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) of the UN, Queen Mathilde visited GoodPlanet Belgium in Brussels on February 6, 2024. The non-profit organization celebrates its 25th establishment anniversary this year.
GoodPlanet Belgium is the Belgian branch of an international organization that inspires young and old people for the purpose of creating a sustainable society.
By means of its projects, campaigns and workshops, GoodPlanet shares knowledge and plants seeds for change, and also aims to make the ideas behind sustainable development tangible, attainable and attractive.
Mathilde seems to be extremely dressed up for this visit. But perhaps there were other aspects to the visit not pictured for which dressier attire was warranted.

Or perhaps she has one or two other visits on the same day where she had to be "dressed up”.
DeleteSuper initiative for the young kids. Good change from their playstations.
According to her agenda (Monarchie.be), Queen Mathilde did not had more visits yesterday. I wonder why she should dress down when she is visiting "Good planet Belgium" as advocate of the Sustainable Development Goals of the UN. Good planet Belgium is part of an international organization, which is more than creating workshops to occupy kids.
DeleteI really like her look today. css
ReplyDeleteNext year Queen Mathilde's coat and dress are 10 years old. She has also a short jacket in the same material as her coat. I like it with the black tights and high heels she looks very elegant
ReplyDeleteTrès élégant son look ; avec ses talons hauts noirs, c'est parfait !
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and young Look.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. Very elegant.
ReplyDeleteElegant attire, though I wonder, why so stylish for the occasion. Perhaps she had other meetings after/before this visit that required a more formal style of dress. Edwina
ReplyDeleteThe outfit is not really appropriate for a visit to a school. Wish she would change the 'helmet' style of hair, I know she keeps it a certain length when the need arises to wear it up, but it does get rather boring. Just my humble opinion.
ReplyDeleteAgree with you; the helmet-style is boring and makes her looks older than she have to. High-heels are nice at the right occasion but not this time. Jacket too bulky and old-fashioned. Black pen-skirt really suits her! And love her varm smile! Marie
DeleteJust take the time to look up pictures of Queen Mathilde when she was a young princess.(Google, pictures of Queen Mathilde). During a certain period (when King Philippe had a beard) she had her hair flat and rather short, it was different and not bad at all. Now that she is passed 50, I think that hairstyle would not suit her anymore.

DeleteBetter read the caption before writing your comments. It was not just an ordinary school she visited (read my comment Anon. 7/2 07:40). What is strange too, when the Princess of Wales is wearing high heels on any occasion nobody seems to find it odd. Let Queen Mathilde wear her high heels while she still can. In 10 years maybe her feet would not allow it anymore.
I did look up photos of Mathilde when she was a bit younger and wow, what lovely, soft hair cut she has had during the last decade. They would absolutely still be supergreat on her. She is such a beauty and like Charlene and Marie from Denmark, Mathilde looks best in a soft hairstyle. Just my opinion. Marie
