Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel of Sweden are on a four-day official visit to California together with a business delegation. On the second day of their visit, the Crown Princess and Prince visited Sacramento and San Francisco. The couple was received by the Governor of California Gavin Newsom in Sacramento for a bilateral meeting.
The Crown Princess couple then visited the newly established Consulate General's office in San Francisco and met with the staff. Afterwards, they received a briefing on the new technology around driverless cars, which are a new element in the cityscape of San Francisco.
Together with the business delegation and Minister Johan Forssell, Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel then visited Open AI research organization to receive information about the latest developments in artificial intelligence. Then, the Crown Princess, Prince Daniel and the Minister were received by San Francisco Mayor London Breed at the City Hall.
In the evening, Crown Princess Victoria, Prince Daniel and Minister Johan Forssell attended the opening of the new Swedish Consulate General in a ceremony held in the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.
Day: Always like a well-tailored pantsuit in red - just change the 'gold' button with a red one. Accessory-wise: not a fan of the earrings (too clunky) and remove the scarf, it doesn't add anything (weather related, maybe?)
ReplyDeleteEvening: Rewear, check. The style suits her very well, but the flower-print and colour-combination are a no for me. And the H&M earrings are just hideous.

I think the scarf adds a lot - notably the red, white and blue of the host country! I also think it lifts a business suit up into a further notch of elegance to wear a beautifully arranged beautiful scarf. I think she nailed it! But while we are talking of accessories, my head gets dizzy looking at the height of her black shoes with the red suit! She looks elegant but whoa, so very high! - AnneLise
DeleteTotally agree
DeleteI think that the evening frock will be polarizing. I personally find it unattractive.
ReplyDeleteI agree - polarising. But I think this is a fabulous aspect of fashion: we can not like the designer’s choices in a garment, but the wearer can look beautiful in it (or vice versa ). Here I would not have liked that dress hanging on a rack, but Victoria in it is stunning. - AnneLise
ReplyDeleteThe Malina dress is wonderful - she looks beautiful! The red pantsuit is chic, but I don't like the scarf.
ReplyDeleteThought the same. A bit of "air hostess vibe", imho. I also like the evening gown the second time around. Not too much, not too little for this event it seems.
DeleteI agree with DSC: lovely evening gown, hostess vibes because of the scarf.
Delete@DSC the red suit and scarf also made me think of an airline stewardess.

I’m in agreement with the air hostess vibe of the scarf 🧣 but I love the red trouser suit and gorgeous shoes. I also like the bright blue worn by the Mayor though it is not especially flattering on her. Like the evening dress and also the jacket worn by Nancy Pelosi ( looking every one of her 80+ years in spite of her ‘treatments’) Lovely close up photo of CP Victoria

Stunning evening dress with matching shoes and clutch. Beautiful earrings. I am not sure I would pick yellow gold with this dress but the green stones are great.
ReplyDeleteI like the red pant suits. She wore it not long ago styled in exactly this way, scarf and all. Perhaps a little variation would be good.
I like CP Victoria in her red pant suit. It fits perfectly. I also like her in the evening gown. The colors remember me a dress of Queen Mathilde, but the fabric is different and also the style. Her earrings by H & M are very appropriate to wear with the dress. She is a good ambassador for the Scandinavian brands.
ReplyDeleteVictoria looks like she has some difficulties to walk with those shoes.
ReplyDeleteWas there not that song? "These shoes are not made for walking"?
DeleteIt is not the shoes - it is the rain. Whoever is accompanying her should shield her with an umbrella.
DeleteI like the evening dress. Not so much the shoes.I would have gone with the same color green,to give it a more fluid look. But the accessories are perfect.Wish CPV would use some color on her face.As we get older we need a splash of color on the lips or cheeks.
ReplyDeleteLove her day suits! She I think started the the whole trouser suit trend, that a lot of royal women wear.Ideal for day visits.Tidy and professional.
Lovely suit, but these scarf she has started using...not a fan. Take the fifth on the dress.
ReplyDeleteI like the red pantsuit but without the scarf. As someone else stated, she looks like a flight attendant (air hostess). The evening gown looks beautiful on her but I would’ve chosen a matching green shoe rather than the lavender. JMO.
ReplyDeleteOh why didn’t Prince Daniel leave his double breasted on duty suit at home.
ReplyDeleteHe’s missed the occasion to show us how handsome he could look in a little bit of downtown, Californian “Homme” fashion.
Amen. I'm so tired of that suit. It makes him look so boxy.
DeleteCinci
I would like the evening dress much more I think if it were still one-shouldered but without the long sleeve. The earrings she is wearing with it are not to my taste.
ReplyDelete-Royal Watcher
Red suit: well done for the occasion - Evening outfit: Perhaps not to my taste, yet it has nice qualities. Question of the day: How does she manage to wear what look like heavy earrings most of the time and not have the ear-lobes stretched out. hmmm

In photos N°12 and N°13, is that Nancy Pelosi?
ReplyDeleteIf so, it’s amazing, 84 years old and not a wrinkle to be seen anywhere.
If it’s not her then it’s a great look-alike.
Yes, that is Nancy Pelosi, and her husband is with her (red tie and handkerchief in suit pocket).
Delete-Royal Watcher
Its her and her husband. :)
DeleteYes, that's Nancy. She is with her husband Paul Pelosi.
DeleteJust saw you comment, Deadeggs, after posting my own re Nancy Pelosi. If I were CP Victoria, I’d be very grateful that my similarly aged mother looked so normal in comparison. I tend to agree with most of your posts but this time one of us is wrong 😂😂
DeleteAnnieM
I’m of Swedish descent, live in SF and love this couple but sadly not in town today! But happy to see that the royal couple out and about despite the horrible weather. Really couldn’t have picked a worse day all year.
ReplyDeleteAs for the fashion, love the red suit but also think the scarf looks a bit flight attendant. I also love the rework gown but agree that green shoes would make more sense.
Today Victoria is the Lady in red. She looks very elegant. I like the style of the gown not so much the shiny fabric. Not a fan of the earrings. It seems Gov. Newsome. and the Pelosi's just had to be there.
ReplyDeletedeadeggs to assure you, it is the Pelosi's. No wrinkle? how about Botox. I must try it sometime myself, maybe.? I am glad Mr. Pelosi is fine again after the hammer attack at their Residents. css
Not a fan of the red suit scarf combination. It gives off hostess vibes. But she made up for it in her evening look. It's interesting and bold.
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love the great red trouser suit with the scarf!!! The suit is so well-fitted and so chic--the narrow leg is perfection paired with a blaze. The bright red is a great color for Victoria and a great way to stand out in the crowd (a nod--at least from me--to the late great Queen Elizabeth's idea about having to be seem to be believed). And, what a wonderful to her host nation with the red, white, and blue scarf. As for her choice of evening gown--I still have mixed feelings about this gown. I love the style (its a fabulous style for Victoria). I love both colors and they are beautifully paired in this gown. But...I really hate that ginornous splotch of a flower. I'm sorry but it looks like someone spilled paint on the gown. Victoria is pulling off the gown because she looks gorgeous but that hot mess of a floral design... The only thing I truly find fault in (the dress mess is on the designer) are the awful earrings she chose to wear with the gown. The pearls were perfect for her daytime look. We all know Victoria has something else in her jewelry box (or her mother's) that would have looked better.

Suit 👍 scarf 👎 dress 👎 styling 👎 hair 👎
ReplyDeleteI love the addition of the silk scarf with this beautifully fitted red pantsuit. The evening dress looks good, again the fit is perfect.
ReplyDeleteBonjour,
ReplyDeleteAvez-vous des nouvelles de Helen ???
