The word Modern does not rhyme well with Japanese Imperial Style of any kind.

If the skirt was a little bit tighter the ensemble would have looked already better. Simple shoes, but they are not so wide anymore and the heels are a bit higher than those worn by the majority of the princesses at the Imperial court. Beige was a fashion color last Summer, it stayed in fashion this Winter. However, a monochromatic look in beige, looks quickly dull. If the skirt was replaced by a black one or black pants it would have been very chic. A top in

I think the skirt is fine, especially for older women. I remember the days when women, even royal women, did not walk around with clothes 2 sizes too small & horizontal wrinkles everywhere & thighs/boobs almost bursting out of the material. And we would not see such a thing on the Japanese royal ladies as we do on some of the European ones. |Melanie|

I think it’s ivory not beige (a little hard to tell) and a dress not skirt (which can explain it being a little fuller, so that it will fall well when the jacket is off). I think her dress, jacket and shoes to be supremely elegant in their simplicity. - AnneLise.

Was not finished yet. "A top in a contrasting color under the jacket could have been nice too and/or the same contrasting color for clutch and shoes" So many lovely solutions.

Never a fan of beige/cream/neutral outfits but this is smart and elegant

Nice to see CP Kiko out and about. Her suit is beautiful. She looks lovely here and I hope she's recovered from her illness. Her smile lights up her whole face and exudes warmth.

  7. The Kimono is the winner here. With its delicately- colored and coordinating obi belt, it is exquisite.

Ok, there's a lot of beige going on here; the clothes, the walls, the art work, .... LOL. However, I do love a well made Kimono - whatever the color. The workmanship is just wonderful and this one is no exception.
